From My Couch To A 5K... And Beyond!

Hi dude. :)

Sounds like you had a great time with your man. Much deserved.

And nice pic in the paper!

Grr. I was losing steadily, and then all of the sudden this week I have ballooned up to 149! Each day I have weighed little more, and today I finally hit 149. :cuss:

I haven't been eating bad... I think :reddevil: is to blame. I should start next Tuesday, so I'm pretty sure that's the culprit.

I must say that I think it's funny how I am irritated to weigh 149, when a few months ago I would have cut my arm off to weigh 149. Isn't it funny how our goals and expectations change?

haha so true! and when we weigh a little more than the day before we suddenly start to feel as if we've never been so big. it will be down again soon.

glad you had a good day with James. have a good week

I want to reward myself sometime with a nice pair of jeans. I have never owned a nice pair before. $40 is the most I have ever paid for jeans, and even that is rare! From what I hear, the more expensive ones are worth the money, though... I hear they fit really well!

So, my question is, are there any brands you suggest? I have read about Seven7 and 7 for all Mankind... any other good ones? I'm foreign to the good stuff!

Sammy? Anyone? Help! :D

Aww... what a sweetie James is. :) Glad you two are having fun. ;)

I read the bootcamp article. That is cool you got in the paper. I think I'd have to take the 6pm class, as there's no way in hell I'd drag my lazy ass out of bed that early everyday. :D

I didn't want the 6 pm one, because I am too lazy to drag my ass out in the heat! Plus, at 6 pm, I'm shoving my dinner into my mouth! :D

Oooo, I also want to get me some REAAALLLY expensive ones... Levi's, I like the image :p ( Hey, if you're gonna go for brands may as well go for ones with a big rep!)

Oh, and I ONLY weigh myself once a week, otherwise scale mentality takes over... it's for my own sanity :p !!

Ooooh, definitely get a good pair of jeans. I have some, not expensive or anything, just some I really wanted. They sat in my closet for the longest time because I couldn't fit in them. Now every time I put them on I'm reminded of how far I've come, even if I was feeling bad for the day previously.
I know what you mean about goals changing. A couple weeks ago I was seeing 136 on the scale every day and I was sooo frustrated. Then I gained about 4 pounds, but its going back down now. Yesterday I was happy to see 138, and today I was ecstatic to see 136.5! Remember to take some time to be happy for what you've accomplished before moving on to the next goal.

This () is my early birthday present from James! He says he still has a few other surprises planned, but I couldn't wait for the watch!

I am soooo excited to get it!

It's going to be so cool to be able to track my heart rate, calories burned, etc. It does so much stuff! Make sure to read all the features!

I can't wait!!

Long ago when i was about 15 pounds smaller, American Eagle Jeans fit me the best... the felt like a perfect fit... but I don't know if you'd count those as a stellar pair of jeans... Lucky brand jeans sticks out in my head... I think they're the company that when you walk in takes your measurements and then presents you with jeans to fit your body. Btw, thanks for stopping by my diary... hope you're lovin' life:)

Thanks for the input! :)

Mostly I just want a pair of jeans that aren't off a clearance rack or on sale! I don't want the focus to be how cheap they are, I want the focus to be how well they fit my body! I have always settled on the cheapest jeans I could find... now I would like to find a pair that looks and feels fabulous! :D

I think you should totally reward yourself with an awesome pair of jeans. I agree with Casey, there are some awesome jeans at Abercrombie and Fitch for women, and I am also a big fan of their mens jeans as well. Seven for all Mankind are very nice, and I have many female friends who wear those and True Religion Jeans. One of my friends right now who has a very nice body but just has a slightly curvier lower half than her upper half has been wearing a pair of Bebe brand jeans that I think look very nice on her too. I don't know if you have a Buckle near you in a mall but they also sell a few designer brands of jeans. Lucky and Big Star offer some very nice options. You can usually do more (i.e. dress up) darker shades of jeans with blazers and stuff, so they look more professional if you need them too. Have fun, jeans are the best :)

Thank you for the suggestions!!! Any chance of getting you to fly to Texas to go jean shopping with me?! :D

I do have a Buckle nearby, so I will have to try them out.

I have always considered myself way too big for Abercrombie, but maybe now I could fit into their larger sizes! :)

I have heard of True Religions before... I will have to try a pair of those, too! So many jeans I must have! I don't really know where to find them... Macy's? Dillard's?

I'm sure Macy's would have them, and I don't know if you have Nordstrom's or not but that is one place I know has them for sure. True Religions can get pretty expensive though, so when i have bought them, I did so on Ebay... That's definitely not for everyone. I would definitely try out Abercrombie and Fitch. I think perhaps you might be surprised going in there and trying a few things on... I have been a fan of their jeans for many years now. Seven Jeans are great too, and they have a wide array of styles and washes to choose from.

Sam, if I ever become rich and famous, I'm gonna hire you to be my stylist. :D

Wish I could help ya with the jeans, Tyly, but I'm like you in that respect. :D

Hehehe, You ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO get the Abercrombie ones... for the mere fact that they are the ones you never thought you "could" or "would" be able to wear. We need pics as soon as you get 'em!!!
