From alpha testing to the QUERCUS 200

Thanks LaMa, Mandy, and Mystic! First day in the field today. Every thing else is still going well.

So I ran a 5K in 30:36 last night. Not a PR, but 2nd best time (+29 secs) which is a big improvement over the last couple days.

I still need to suck it up and get back to 2,000 calories. I have no doubt that I have regained weight. Stagnation is bad enough, but I've been screwing up too long too consitently to not have regained a chunk. I have been eating three healthy meals with good portions each day lately, but night time snacking has been crap on top of that. No snacking tonight. My clothes still fit so I haven't gained a ton, but I should be getting into smaller stuff.

Today is the day!

New routines in one area of life (like a job) can sometimes disrupt other routines in different areas. As you settle in you should have no problem getting the eating routine back to where it needs to be. You know how to do it and have proven you can do it, so you'll adjust.

And one of the great things about good routines and habits is that you'll do them even when the reasons why you're doing them isn't particularly clear at the moment. Yesterday morning I felt like aliens could destroy the planet and I wouldn't much care. And so I then had a healthy breakfast and got my workout in, the entire time feeling the same way about the impending planetary destruction. I had zero motivation to do either of those things, but I did them anyway because that's just what I do now. Later on in the day when I felt better, I was extremely happy I stuck to my routine.

Get back on track with calories, Q! :toetap05: Don't do what I did and regain a bunch... seriously, don't do it! haha. You'll wanna kick yourself in the ass.

I hope you're right LJ. I won't let that slow me from getting back to it.

Vee that is just how I feel about running. I just do it no matter what. I made a conscious decision to derail on my diet when I was stressed and doubting myself. Now it's hard to get back to it. I hope that the next time I stress that this experience will help me make a better decision.

I imagine you bounced back because you stuck to your routine.

Your weekend sounded crazy!

Am I reading your signature right? When you joined this forum you were at 349.2lb and are now at 261? Dude, that's almost 100lb since joining! I know we all have stress in our lives in one way or another and we all certainly have our doubts, but that stat I just noticed is truly amazing! You've come such a long way. I know we only know each other from this forum, but I'm proud of you! :D

I agree with Jen too by the way. Don't wait too long to right the ship! I wasted almost a full year before snapping out of it. In the process I put on almost 30lb. Eeek! If I could only have a do over... You definitely don't want to fall into that trap. Run! Save yourself! ;)

Hi Q, It seems to be part of our make-up to do the very things that will sabotage or delay what we think we want in life. Sometimes I think we are frightened of achieving our goals. We all have to have something to aim for & getting there can be a bit scary. You are learning so much about yourself along the way and so long as you don't throw in the towel (I know that you won't!) you will keep adjusting to the new you as you go. It's not easy. What you have achieved already is truly inspiring. You are awesome Mr Q- not perfect(no-one is), but awesome! Don't forget that :D Love to you & E xo Cate

Have you thought about changing up your eating routine. I save the LARGE majority of cals for the evening because that's when I tend to actually feel hungry and when I want to eat. If I ate bigger meals earlier in the day I would totally fail.
I know you're back on track now so the point is moot!

Mandy just shy of 90 pounds at my lowest. I'm sure I've repo under a few, but I'm back at it now. Thanks!

Not a moot point at all Mystic. I do have my biggest meal in the evening. I've just followed it up with snacking lately.

Did well yesterday. Thus rainy weekend will be a challenge, but I have my resolve back. To 250!

2.0 miles run yesterday.
Cate super advice and encouragement as always! Thanks and love right back to you.

You could have a slightly smaller supper and save enough cals for a snack or 2. Then give yourself a cut off time to eat them by. For some reason that cut off time seems to work well for me, but I need my snacks before that!

Hope you were able to get out there in the rainy weather. Doesn't sound very fun to run in the rain, but it may be. I enjoy a good walk in the rain, but it has to be the warm rain in the summer. Not cold winter rain. LOL

Two short runs this weekend. 1.25 and 1.34 miles. It wasn't raining Sunday and I went to the gym Saturday.

I didn't count calories but I did much better this weekend. I'll be counting starting today.

Mystic I really think my evening snacking is a bad habit tied to stress that needs to go away.
