From alpha testing to the QUERCUS 200

It's coming off slow for sure Mandy.

I need to hear more about these calendar pics LaMa.
Glad to hear your getting there too Jen!

I cleared out another load of clothes Cate. Mostly winter stuff that was on the big side and would be no good by Fall. Planning ahead I suppose.

I think that was supposed to say crackers Chef, but I can't be sure because I was really high at the time.

Still running. Yesterday was day 131. I've got tennis elbow from the repetitive arm motion and my legs and hips are a quite cranky. I don't know how much longer this will go. If I push through and feel better I'll be stoked, but if I push and get hurt I'll be pissed. Right now I'm stretching and listening to my body with easy runs and good diet/sleep.

I'm at 265 today. Up 3.6 from my lowest.

I'm still in awe that you've still got the streak going, Q. But seriously, don't take risks with your body that are unnecessary... Being able to say you ran 131 days out of 132 is kind of impressive, too, ya know? I'm not suggesting you end it, but just make sure you're making good decisions in the long run!

Anyway.... New job is still going well???

I ended up running 2 miles in 18:27 yesterday and a slow 1.3 miles today. I don't feel great, but my legs are much less stiff and painful today.

I'm going to try to stop drinking coffee as I have been having way too much and that might be part of the problem.

The new job is fine. One of the clients is a real pain in the ass and one of the people I'm supervising is less than spectacular (a lot less). The boss and the other people I supervise are good. I'm over 2 people, but I am partially over 3 more and they are all fine. We got shortlisted for the big bid I helped out with and this would really be a huge project with lots of work for years so I am really hopeful there. Our oil and gas clients have tightened their belts so we are trying to diversify. I'd love to do zero oil and gas work if we could find other stuff and this bid would go a long way to making that a reality and help my best employee do things that he wants too. More biology and less industrial projects is what he wants and more diverse projects is what my boss want. I want both of those things so now it is a matter of making that happen. I move into my new office tomorrow. Big office with new furniture. Not much time for surfing the net which is why I haven't been around as much, but I'm staying busy working towards something for me and the company and that's great. I wish I had more time to train and teach people and more work to keep my senior guy in the field and doing biology. I have to admit that I enjoy having some control and not feeling like a peon. I try to be careful not to make others feel like a peon too. If we get this big project I will get a big raise in a couple months. I'm already doing much better in that arena.

Dude, that's pretty good - two miles in around 18 minutes. That's a really good pace, man. Seriously. I've been running at 6.5 - 7.0 MPH for the past week but I only run ONE mile at that pace and get winded. Pretty impressive you can get TWO miles at that pace. Good job, dude!!!

Can I borrow 20 bucks?

Leg stiffness and soreness is a tough one as to an extent it really isn't a harbinger of catastrophic injury, but at the same time the hope is to be able to run pain free.

Sounds like the new gig is going well-ish. More money and more power is always good. Just don't go all Tony Montana and let it go to your head. We all saw how that turned out...

Thanks Chef and SURE the checks in the mail.
LaMa it is a big relief.

Vee I've quit coffee to see how that makes me feel. It's a bit more than soreness. I've started having tremors in my head and hands like when my back was bad. That scares me and I'm hoping it's too much caffeine that's contributing to the reemergence of the tremors. I've been looking at diet to see I'd I have a deficiency. Once I get over this feeling like dogshit phase of quitting coffee hopefully I will feel better. If not it will be doctor time and I'm sure they will tell me to take a break from running every day.

It sounds like the new job will be much better for you Q, especially by having more of a say in the direction the work takes. The tremors don't sound good & I hope reducing the coffee does the trick. Don't leave it too long please to see a doctor if it doesn't. It may not be the running & could possibly be a thyroid issue or something else. My MIL used to have the shakes & they disappeared with Thyroid meds. She was always hyper!

Glad to hear the new job is going well...more money...more power. awesome. lol. Definitely get those tremors looked at if giving up the coffee doesn't work. Did you get all moved into your new office? You like it?

Sounds like you new job is going pretty good.
I'm sorry for the tremors you are dealing with and hope that quitting coffee will be all it takes to make you feel good again.

Btw, this:

was hilarious!

Just popping in to say I finally have my ass back in gear. Eating 2,000 calories today. Tremors have gone. I'm still feeling pretty beat up, but I am hopeful that I am on the rebound. I've decided that I can have 1 cup of coffee when I really need it. Otherwise I'm not drinking or overeating and I'm keeping the streak alive.

Day 138
1.25 miles
11:14

Good work, Q.

Was never really a coffee drinker, though I drink an absolute ton o' Diet Coke. Can't be good for me, but one thing it has not hurt is my ability to lose weight.

You've killed off the tremors? You've officially joined the ranks of Fred Ward and Kevin Bacon.

Thanks everybody! I ran 2 miles in 19:56 last night for day 139. I stuck to calories again. I'm feeling better but my hips and knees are sore and my muscles threatened to cramp last night. Doing yoga tonight after the run and I'm hopeful that will help with the joints and muscles.

G'day running "beast" :D Glad those tremors have gone Q! You sound a lot more positive too, which is good. Joint & muscle pain? I'm calling into a health-food/nutritionist's shop today to ask for advice. I am aching all over! I take a cheap Magnesium supplement for cramps, now that I have really cut down salt, but I ache....really ache & I can't take any anti-inflammatories, in fact anything from the NSAID family, including aspirin.:(
Love to you & E, xo Cate

Thanks Cate! And love to you and the LH as well!

I take a baby aspirin, but I try to avoid anything else. Being reliant on pain medicine was a drag so I really would rather not. I did an easy run and did 45 minutes of yoga and a few minutes of foam rolling and I feel pretty darn good.

1.3 miles for day 140
45 minutes begginer level yoga
5 min foam rolling

Right at 2,000 calories for the day.

I'm glad the yoga helped! The yoga I do just makes me more sore! (Not joint sore, just muscle sore!)
I've never foam rolled, my mom has one and so does my gym, I might have to try!
Great job on the calories!
