From alpha testing to the QUERCUS 200

Don't try to lose weight! Try to be healthy. A healthy person is a healthy weight. A healthy person eats well and exercises. Weightloss is a secondary by product of what you really want. I'm saying this so I can hear it too. I'm not perfect and I will do stupid things and fall off track again. The hope is I will come back here and read this and remember this truth.

Lastly, healthy isn't a destination. It doesn't have a corresponding scale number no matter what the charts say. Healthy is a sustained application of a lifestyle of sensible diet and regular exercise.

Agreed. 100%.

Thanks Cate, I slept like a log!

Thanks Mystic! I've weighed a little less, but I've never been this lean before so it is really odd. I'll have to get used to it. I'm okay with that.

Thanks LaMa! Indecency is one of many services that I offer. ;)

Thanks Carrie! It's good to "see" a new "face" around here. Welcome!

Okay so tonight was day 148 of the run streak. For those of you just tuning in, I've run a minimum 1 mile a day every day since November 27, 2014 (US Thanksgiving) as has my lovely wife E.

Road run
2.69 miles
30:00 mins

This is one of the best runs I've done on the road. I'm much more reluctant to run full speed on the road than the track as the road is rough and uneven and is pretty narrow for the turn arounds, but this was a pretty tough run and I am pleased with how I felt and how I did.

You sound great! E must be so proud of you (and vice versa), there´s nothing more motivating than to see people internalize their life changes and living them long-term.

I think that's one of the best things about this forum. I think we all inspire one another. None of the namby pamby stuff. We are doing this together!

A fantastic workout! It's so motivating to hear you tackle a tough run so well.
Also amazing that you've run every day since late November.
You and E together are a perfect team.

You're doing great, Q! Glad to hear your wife is still doing good too! That's awesome that you've BOTH run everyday since November. :)

Thanks for all the great encouragement! This is a great team Cate and I'm proud to be part of it.

So E set a mile PR last night on a shorter run. Her weightloss has slowed lately and she is making small adjustments to get that going again. She is shrinking fast despite the scale stall. We are donating bags of clothes this evening which are mostly hers. She was reluctant to part with them initially so her Spring cleaning enthusiasm marks a new outlook I think. She's 5ft 1 inch and has lost 53 pounds. She looks great and feels the same. She's my rock and I couldn't do it without her.

The ditching old clothes stuff for some reason takes longer than you'd think. And it never seemed to have anything to do with ever needing them again, just that for some reason they seem to be companions of some sort. It's really weird. I got some stuff that needs to go (though nothing from the beginning).

Great work on the running streak, Q. It's great to here you've stayed healthy enough to continue doing this. It's fantastic.

Congratulations E! The 2 of you are obviously a great team & know how lucky you are to have one another. So many people take one another for granted & it's lovely to see someone openly declaring their love. You're a good man Q! xoxo to both of you, Cate.

Thans everybody! She has done great!

I have now gotten rid of all of my size 38s. Having all of my 38s being way too big is surreal. Even the "small" 38s can be put on and taken off with ease without unbuttoning them. I have to hike them up to my navel and still wear a belt and then the inseams are too short so another donation bag has been started the day after we dropped off the last. All of my Seattle tshirts (live shows, book stores, music stores, and festivals) are all too big for me now. I'll kep them and they rarely got worn anyway. I may order a new EasyStreet Records shirt online one of these days.

We went to Dallas today for a dose of city. Way too much money spent, way too mush eaten, and way too much driving. Didn't get home until after 11, so our day 150 was 1.25 miles at the very end of the day.

I'm stuffed and beat. I ate vegan "chicken" salad, chinese steamed buns, fig cake, Spanish pub mix, and a vegan hotdog. Not a good food day, but Dallas and access to enough vegan food options that I can find something without garlic is a rare treat and I regret nothing. It will take a bit longer to hit the 250s, but we needed today.

260.2 this morning.

Ahh, you've reached the "Grandpa Jeans" phase of weight loss - where your pants get so big, the only way you can get them to fit decently is to pull them up to your chest - like a grandpa.

I wouldn't feel guilty about having the bad food day either. It's needed once in a while. Glad you guys had a good day out! :)

Sounds like a nice day on the town but there is nothing better than throwing away clothes that have outgrown you!

A day like that would have done you both a lot of good. As for getting rid of yet another size in clothing :D :D :D xoCate
