From alpha testing to the QUERCUS 200

Personally I'd prefer it if Adriene developed a stronger accent, but that's just me. Maybe I can find yoga videos by someone in Louisiana.

The scale can be a cruel mistress, but I can feel your determination seeping through the ether, so you'll be back down in no time.

I don't think they've gotten yoga yet Oaks.

I've always struggled with my ether seepage Caroline. I'm happy you could pick up on my determination.

Day 57
1 slow recovery mile
I needed a break. That is all I am doing tonight. I love that I feel lazy for running a mile!

I lost 58 pounds this year and I think I'll do that again. Actually lets make it 75.2 and be done with this weightloss business.

I know this is from a relatively older post (around Christmas), but DAMN DUDE!!! That's awesome!!! You lost nearly 60 lbs in a year? That's incredible, like truly incredible. You worked hard, you stuck with it and look what happened? You got seriously awesome results.

Personally, I find that motivating. I've been horrible with keeping on track, but seeing that sentence - "I lost 58 pounds this year" - is absolutely inspiring to me. It makes me think, "Hey, as long as I STICK WITH IT, I can lose that much weight too."

Thanks, man. Thanks for working hard and being an inspiration. Keep it up.

Thanks LaMa! :blush5:

I really appreciate that Chef! I needed that today. You will get there. I look forward to seeing you get there. The majority of last year was lackluster diet and slow loss followed by regain when I injured myself. My goal is to be smarter and more persistent and consistent until this is done. The point is you won't be perfect, but always focus on correcting rather than repeating mistakes and make solid, but flexible plans that you adhere to. You have to make whatever you need to do to get healthy a high priority in your life and that isn't easy to do. It's hard, but well worth the effort. Thanks again man!

So I had an allergic reaction to the new meat substitute we had for dinner last night. My throat swelled up, My skin broke out, and my guts are wrecked. The benadryl and inhaler kept me from needing a doctor's visit, but I feel pretty cruddy today. My stomach is still gross and my throat is tender, but mostly I have a bad headache now that I am trying to drown with water. It didn't bother my wife at all and i don't have an allergy to any of the listed ingredients. Something in the spices or a new allergy. The only thing that I know I am allergic too is shellfish and mushrooms. It didn't have the effect that mushrooms do and it is vegan so no shellfish.

I will likely have another easy run tonight, unless I feel better by then.

Happy Friday!

Not lupin-based by any chance? Seeing that a lot lately (wasn´t that stuff cattle feed in the olden days?) but it can trigger allergies as bad as or worse than peanut.

INGREDIENTS: PECANS, GARBANZO BEANS, ORGANIC WHOLE GRAIN GLUTEN FREE CORNMEAL, GARLIC, ONION, SEA SALT, SPICES.

Spices or a newly developed allergy are the only options. I eat plenty of all of that without issue. I've had all of those ingredients in the past week as a matter of fact so I am guessing spice of some kind. I also ate flax meal as an egg replacement in the mix and that hasn't bothered me in the past either. I won't eat the Neat brand stuff again and I will test the flax out on my skin and tongue before I consume any more.

I've never seen lupin as a food ingredient here. That's assuming you mean a legume from the genus Lupinus and not a common name for something else that we call a different name. I don't generally have problems with any legume. Peas and beans are a large part of my diet. My primary protein source actually.

Day 58
1 mile
11:20
Still not feeling well. Head and throat still bothering me. I took some medicine as my trap feels strained too. The good news is that my hip doesn't hurt*.

*much

Likely Caroline. I am feeling much better today, thanks. I tested flax meal and that isn't it. I just hope I don't run into whatever it was in other foods. Another advantage to home cooked whole foods is that you know everything that goes in it.

Day 59
1 easy mile
My head and throat feel better, but my shoulder muscle is still strained. No biggie, just waiting to do more bodyweight stuff. I likely do LaMas to fill the gap.

A buddy shot some ducks this morning, but doesn't want to eat them so I will be cleaning ducks tonight.

The great thing about food allergies is that they´re so durable, working their magic all over the tube they travel down ;) Glad you´re feeling better, your traps may love that foam roll too. Enjoy my namesakes!

So I cooked myself a dinner of venison, potatoes, and green chilis. Before I finished my meal my throat started to swell and my face reddened and got itchy. The common denominator between the meat substitute meal and this one was powdered garlic that I put in both. Not only that, but last night wasn't as severe and I put less garlic in than the previous meal. The ingredients just says garlic, but I am hoping it is some unlisted additive that gives me the reaction because if I have developed a garlic allergy I am in trouble. I eat lots of garlic. I love garlic. The only reason I had been using the powdered garlic is that I ate all of the fresh garlic in the house and haven't remembered to buy more.

I will try some tiny amount of fresh garlic when I have some. Hopefully it is the powder because that will be tossed out and powdered garlic is a poor substitute for the real thing anyway.

Lazy day today and not feeling wonderful, but I don't have the headache that the last bout gave me. I had to feed the remaining venison to the dogs as my wife won't eat it. The powdered garlic didn't bother Mrs. Q or the puppies. Lucky me!

Day 60 of the run streak will happen late today.

The Good:

Day 60 of the Run Streak
60 Minutes
4.1 miles

Everyday is a PR with the streak, but this may be a PR for distance and/or time I believe.

The Bad:

My wife was making dinner and asked if she should include fresh garlic so I ate a very small piece before she put it in AAAAND I've developed a garlic allergy. WHAT THE HELL? I can't be allergic to garlic. I love garlic! Eating out just became impossible. Feeling like crap and eating benadryl. WAAAAH!

Nooooo! This is the worst news ever!!!! I would panic if I ever became allergic to garlic!! My boyfriend might give up on me, too....he's forgiven me for hating cilantro, but garlic might put him over the edge, haha.

I totally ignored your run because I was freaking out about the garlic. AMAZING JOB!! Was sixty on sixty intentional? If so, I like it.
