1st off I know the tshirt doesn't fit. I just wanted to show what a Champions size large looks like now. BTW the large long sleeve Tee is bigger than this one, but still too snug.

Carhartt 36x34 smaller than my 34s and skin tight, but they buttoned for the first time. I think they are missized as I bought them at a discount store.

Lucky 34x34s fit well.

Merona size medium sleep pants are comfortable and a size medium. I get that they are supposed to be looser, but I'm happy to be wearing them just the same.

Wrangler 34x34s are snug in the waist and fit otherwise. I could wear them, but I'll wait until they are more comfortable.

Despite having 76.4 pounds to lose I don't know that I will wear much smaller jeans. I carry all of my weight in my torso so the shirt sizes have the furthest to go. My tee size is an xl currently and my button up shirts are a mix of xl and xxl.

Day 25 of run streak
2.12 miles
30 min

My back started to spasm last night and so I had to take nerve medicine for my sciatica last night and again after my run. The running felt okay considering. I have sharp pain from my back through my butt and hip and into the top of my femur. The medicine helps, but makes me feel very weird. I'm pretty out of it. Kind of spacey dizzy. I'm hoping this goes away quick.

Day 25!! We're so close! Back problems are no good :-( Does that just happen now and then? Take care of yourself!!

Thanks Oaks and Cate!

The back hasn't been a major issue in a long time. The medicine has me feeling awful this morning and the back is not great. Hopefully a day of lots of water will help out. I'm going to try not to take the medicine as it makes me dizzy and uncoordinated. I couldn't run this morning, but I will run tonight.

Running made my back feel better yesterday, but I just need the medicine side effects to wear off so I can run. I realize how awful I felt with my back last year when I consider that I was fine with these side effects.

My weight is up 3.4 pounds this morning with 2,300 on the dot yesterday. I was counting out 5 calorie olives to hit 2,300 exactly. Maybe it's the medicine? Maybe it's the flare up? Maybe it's both? Whatever it is I don't like feeling this way and I really don't want to spend the holiday break feeling this way.

Good Stuff:

I had to toss a belt out yesterday because the last hole wasn't tight enough. I had used the first hole at some point so going through an entire belt is great.

2 day work week! Then I'm off work until January 5th!

Day 26 of the run streak
1 mile
10:22

Back still doesn't feel great. It affects my running mostly through the pain in my hip and femur. I ran at a modest pace. Not recovery and not a great effort.

This place is a ghost town.

Q, you do not have to continue with a run streak if you are experiencing pain! You have nothing to prove, to anyone. Please take care of yourself xo Cate

I know Cate. The pain is less today. I would have stopped already, but I don't think the running caused it and it seems to help with the pain. Loads of driving and walking in rough terrain last week is what set it off I am sure. It is feeling better today and I haven't had any medicine since Sunday. I'll be able to work through it fine.

275.2 for a barely new low since Thanksgiving. This after a 1,800 calorie day. I just wasn't as hungry yesterday. Tomorrow will send the scale rocketing back up as that is my xmas meal and I intend to enjoy myself. Then right back on track the next day.

I'm running tonight and again in the morning before the big meal.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Bah Humbug Cate! Actually I'm looking forward to my gift exchange with my wife in the morning as I've gotten her a bunch of stuff and I hope she enjoys it. Also, PRESENTS! Keep your spirits up Cate and try to find some enjoyment in the hubbub!

Day 27
1 mile
11:54
indoor track with a big dose of sciatica.I hit the hot tub after and that helped.

Day 28
1 mile
14:09
This marks the first time that the pain has gotten worse during running instead of better. Not a good sign. No delusions about extending the streak. I'm just hoping to get to 36. Stretching, yoga, and drugs is the formula.

I hope everyone enjoys their holiday!

I'm getting ready to go to my family's xmas celebration and it's times like these that drinking would come in handy. I will be pigging out however. No calorie count and no limit for this evening only.

Merry Christmas Eve, Q!!! Enjoy the feast, and please please please make sure you are taking care of that back.

I hope you had a good time Oaks!

Day 29
1 mile
14:46
Not quite as bad pain wise as xmas eve

Day 30
1mile
12:33
I did a lot of foam rolling before the run and that made for just a sharp twinge in the left hip and buttock while running. The legs felt like lead though.

At least this got my HR up a little. I'll be foam rolling along with my stretching to see if I can't rid myself of this all together.

Yay...being able to wear smaller stuff, that is always fun!

How did your wife like her gifts? It is so expensive for me to send stuff to Europe, but I still manage to send one box of stuff to Jacob. I love doing that and seeing his reaction!

Hope you are feeling better, back pain is no fun!

Thanks LaMa it's feeling better!

Thanks Jade! She was very pleased. I bought her a ton of clothes and I've never done that before. I was worried, but everything fit and she seems tickled. She liked her new purse and that was the one I was most worried about. We've been together for over 20 years so I pretty much took her tastes and gentle nudged it a bit less modest. Good times. My wife has to ship to Europe fairly regularly. The cost is ridiculous. I hope you two can be together soon.

A definite yes Jen (see below). I always us it reactively rather than proactively so it hurts worse when I do it, but it is worth the hassle.

Day 31
2.34 miles
30 minutes

Foam rolling for the second day in a row made the half hour and normal pace possible. Much better!

That's great that you bought your wife a ton of clothes & a purse that she loved. Huge kudos to you Q! I'm going to make more fuss next Christmas & make sure I get into the spirit. In the end I really enjoyed it, but it made me realise that putting more effort into the day beforehand, would make it feel more festive & maybe more fun.

So glad to hear the foam rolling helped! Do you know how close we are to finishing the streak??? I can't believe it's almost over. It's going to be weird that first day of no running.

I just had a little laugh Oaks. You don't have to stop running if you don't want to.:D It does go to show how challenges do inspire some people to stick to their respective aims though. I wish I was one of them. I seem to respond to my own personal challenges, rather than external ones. Sounds like it's time for a new challenge guys? xo Cate
