From alpha testing to the QUERCUS 200

293.8 for my official weekly weigh-in this morning.

That's 10.4 pounds in 10 days.

39.4 pounds lost this year which is 0.96 lb/week for the year.

I am also 0.4 pound below my pre-injury low.

I need to lose 2.6 pounds by next Saturday to hit the 1 pound per week mark.

Those are some nice numbers :) Have you tried eating a hot breakfast? When I eat soup first thing in the morning I will a) be satisfied until 11 am at least, b) be very warm and c) have loads of calories left to eat the rest of the day. More so if spicy.

Thank you LaMaria!

My breakfast is a raw soaked cereal, but it is good heated up as well. I had it hot with a big mug of hot black coffee and I was hungry not too long after. It's okay. The hunger will subside as my body adapts to my calorie intake. It's already way better than it was. I'm taking the attitude that all the time I spent feeling stuffed is being made up for. It isn't making me feel bad (tired woozy) anymore so it's mild. I just try to keep my mind elsewhere.

I tried on goal pants today. The only pants left have never been worn. I added 4 pairs of jeans that did not fit in June.

Here is what's left of the goal pants:

Size 34 boot cuts

A mis-sized 38 which I think is like a 31 or 32. It's much smaller than the size 34 jeans I have.

size 36 corduroys Dont' judge me they were $4 new (Old Navy Clearance + 40%)

size 36 carpenter pants

The ones that I added where 2 38s and 2 36s. I think the cords and carpenter pants will fit before to long, but The 34s will be a long ways off and I don't know if the "38"s will ever fit.

The pants that were too small consisted of 3 drawers packed with a stack on top at the beginning of the year. Now it is half a drawer. I need to put more in the donation bag soon.

I used to wear corduroys with massively flared legs about 15 years ago, I was very sad to see them go so far out of style that I couldn´t find any anywhere :D I´d wear them again tomorrow if they´d fit (couldn´t, wore them till they burst)! Adding "old" jeans in a smaller size is awesome. Maybe I can hang my next pair up on the wall for some extra motivation :p

I miss the corduroy flared leg trend too! We won't judge you on your corduroys, Quercus. lol. Congrats on getting below your pre-injury weight! :)

I should clarify that my cords aren't bellbottoms. They will still look good with pumps, but they aren't flared.

293.8 again this morning. 2,000 calories yesterday.

Today's BMI is 36.7. I've got 14 pounds until I leave class 2 obesity. 20 pounds until I've lost 10% of the 304.2 which is when I started counting calories.

I hit 10% for the year when I went to 299.

New short-term goals:

1 lb/week loss average for the year. I'm currently 0.96 so I need to lose 2.6 pounds to hit it this week.

280's (4 pounds to go)

50 pounds lost for the year (10.6 pounds to go)

We have been buying organic blue corn tortilla chips in huge bags. they are 24 ounces for $2.99. Now I knew they weren't good for me, but I didn't realize how bad the calorie load was. I weighed out a 140 calorie serving today. 8.5 chips! Fuuuuu.. I've been eating a lot of calories in those stupid things. I haven't eaten any since I started counting the calories, but before I was munching on them while dinner cooked or after dinner when I got hungry. I also liked to have them with hummus. When I wasn't trying at all I would sometimes eat a container of hummus on these chips. Assuming no extra chips eaten (never happened) and assuming a half tablespoon per chip (that's a lot of hummus per chip), the calorie total is about 3,400 calories or 1,100 more than my current daily max calories.

Obviously I wasn't doing that bad all of the time as I lost 29 pounds this year before I started to strictly count my calories, but that explains why I have lost 10.4 pounds in 11 days since I've measured everything I've ate or drank.

My other major evening snack was peanuts and other nut which range from 160-200 calories per ounce or about the size of a ping pong ball.

293.8 again this morning. 2,000 calories yesterday.

Are we talkin' cords? I rocked a pair of forest green cords in middle school. Often paired with a light tan, more of a beach sand, turtleneck. Yup. I suuuuure did.

:D Love the cord confessions. Also: I sympathize with the tortilla chip situation. Those things are second only to milk chocolate as a cause for my weight gain. A good thing Austrians don´t really understand how to make chips (potato or otherwise).

I know what you mean! Chips and nuts are SO calorie-dense. I remember onetime eating a bunch of almonds, you know, because "nuts are healthy." A casual look at the nutrition label later showed me I had thrown down 1,500 calories in an hour! So I try to avoid buying all chips/nuts as a result.

P.S. 10 lbs. in 11 days is incredible

Middle school was parachute pants for me Chef.

Dark chocolate for me, but I never have had enough of a sweetooth for it to do much damage.

That's easy to do RH. I'll still eat them, just in the tiny quantities that I'm supposed to.

293.8 again today which is the first time I've hit the same weight 3 days in a row. I'm going to stay off the scale until Saturday to keep my focus where it should be.

Monday run
2.14 miles
30 minutes

A tiring day in the field today. I have stuck to the vegan diet and to 2,300 calories while on the road. It's been hard and I am really hungry at the moment. Hopefully it will pay off.

After all the big drops, nothing wrong with maintaining for a day or two. The scale has a mind of its own from time to time, but usually comes around. Good work on sticking to the diet.

Vee I keep doing my part and the scale will do whatever the hell it wants as usual. I'm hopeful for tomorrow.

Thanks Clarissa! I appreciate you stopping by.

Thanks Jen! I try not to.

Run
2.1 miles
30 minutes

Both of my runs this week so far have been following 8 hours in a truck driving 4 and riding 4 and they've both been tough. I'm back home now and I hope for a good weigh-in tomorrow and a good run Friday. I was going to wait to weigh until Saturday, but after the struggle that the last couple days have been with hunger, calories, and runs I'd like to have some encouraging news. Of course that assumes encouraging results, but since I'll keep doing my part regardless there is no harm in taking the chance.

293.4 this morning. .2 away form 40 pounds lost and heading in the right direction. I had a lot of sodium while on the road these past 3 days so maybe with a ton of water and low sodium today I'll have a nice drop in the morning. I really want to hit -42 by Saturday to reach the 1lb/week average for the year, but that seems unlikely at this point. Oh well, I'm doing my part so the scale has no choice in the long run. I may have to sit down and have a long talk with the scale and let him know what's up.

292.6 which passes the 40 pounds lost for the year (40.6) and is 11.6 pounds since October 1st.

I have not eaten above 2,300 calories since then either and I will continue at 2,300 or below until Thanksgiving. I haven't decided if I will not count calories for the day or just have all of my 2,300 for the one Thanksgiving meal. Either way I will be right back to counting and eating 2,300 the day after Thanksgiving until Xmas eve at my parents. I decide how I am handling Xmas eve dinner by how Thanksgiving goes. That's 2 days over 2,300 for the rest of the year (75 days). There is no contingency plan or punishment for not doing this because I'm doing it. I may very well stay in calories for the holiday meals too. I'm tired of being fat and I'm only going to be fat as long as it takes to safely lose it and no longer.

I'm never going to drink again as it is a waste of calories, time, money, and my life. For me it's a crutch and a gateway to poor habits. It's worthless to me now. I don't need liquid comfort. I've got this.

This is exactly what I keep thinking and telling myself I have to do and to be thinking. - I still crave candy though it's my fifth day back, but it will pass. You are very inspirational to me right now and made me realize I soon have to get some goals and how to get there in writing. Your thinking rocks :D

When is Thanksgiving?
