From alpha testing to the QUERCUS 200

I'm feeling well this morning LaMaria. Not the best running conditions, but cars are rare on my road and I had a headlamp with red flasher behind, and bright reflective clothes. Still not the safest conditions, but I was cautious.

298.0 for week 5 of 60-90 weeks is -2.8 pounds this week -13 pounds for 5 weeks and -35.2 pounds for the year. My average is now -1.6 pounds per week. That's 250 pounds by the end of the year at that rate. Down 1 inch to 50.5" this morning.

Now on to 295 so there is certainty that no upswing to 300 can happen again. I'm hopeful that the 2 pound gap is enough and I am out of the 300s for the rest of my life. I should probably retire a couple more pairs of pants nd try on some smaller ones from the closet. I have 3 pair that are rather big 38s and one that is still a bit snug.

BIG CONGRATS on busting three bills. That's fantastic and was a huge moment for me and I'm sure for you too. Be very proud of yourself today, and then onward tomorrow.

Thanks Vee! I'm happy, but already focused on the next one. 295 will be sure below the 300 mark for good.

Goals after that:

Run more than I weigh (miles vs pounds obviously).

50 pounds lost (283.2).

I hit 275 a few years before I joined here starving myself. I look forward to reaching and passing that goal the right way.

30 min 5K at race speed

30 minute 5K in the aerobic zone

I hit 255 in college using Phen-Phen before it got pulled off the market which was just a different way of starving myself. This will be a major milestone and anything below that will be the least I've weighed in my adult life.

233.2 will be 100 pounds lost

<40" belly measurement is a big goal and will be an assessment point for where I want to end up.

I vowed to never hit 300 again when I busted below it in 2009. I got down to 277 or so. Last June I let my self slip up to 298 but did not hit 300. Today I am 272. Congrats to you on your progress! Get a little distance between you and that 300 mark.

That's awesome Q! 1.6lbs per week, on average, is excellent! Say good-bye to that 300 figure FOREVER!! Cheers, Cate.

Thank you Brawny! My tossing out the big pants method should keep me in check in the long run. I can buy new pants, but I can't buy bigger pants.

Thank you Cate! I'm hoping the average will continue to inch up to 2 pounds a week, but 1.6 is just fine.

A good solid run. The heat is getting here and the humidity is awful. I wrung out my quick dry shirt after the run.

Congratulations on breaking the 300 milestone Q! [I hope that makes sense? My English isn't very good] :biggrinjester:

Keep going at it and be very proud! Wishing you good luck for the new goals as well. :grouphug: :)

Thanks Athala! You said it perfectly. In fact I wasn't aware that English was not your first language. You always post well.

I took the day off from running, but I got a lot of exercise. Hauled and stacked firewood, mowed, trimmed hedges, pruned trees.

I also roasted 3 kinds of nuts and made a bunch of nutbutter. Sunflower seed, cashew, peanut butter to put into our breakfast cereal. It was my first attempt and it tastes good. It is thick as I didn't add oil. In fact the only ingredients are the nuts. Mixing nuts gives better nutrition and a more diverse protein for the first meal of the day. Non-peanut butter is outragiuosly high at the store and usually has added salt and oil.

So much awesome here! I can't believe you're the same guy with the debilitating back problems who started this diary!
Nutbutter is nomnom, a real shame I can only have tiny quantities of nuts (histamin intolerant).

Well my back is sucking today LaMaria. It will be better tomorrow. I just overdid it yesterday. Bummer about the nut issue. Beats a full blown nut allergy, but still no fun.

So no running and the pain medicine made me feel loopy and I ate too much. Not much over, but I need to get bck on track.

Q, so so inspiring. Hope your back heals soon. I need to take up running again. I have to visit your journal more often for inspiration.

Isn't it so true how we must constantly refocus and persevere through the speed bumps life puts in our way. I have been derailed by a little injury or a business trip our a dozen other things. It's the ability to quickly refocus and get back to the plan that makes long term success possible.

Congrats on the new milestone hitting under 300! That is amazing! You will hit 295, and then 275 in no time :)

Thanks everyone!

Amberlace the back is feeling better today.

You said it Brawny. I'm trying my best.

Icychic I hope it's quick!

Hot and humid in the field and during the run.

That sucked.
<2,300 calories

Here is my change in speed since I started running. I'm still very slow, but the current trend line has me able to run a 30 min 5K late this year. Now that I am past the initial gains in adapting to running my greatest potential for increase in speed is decrease in weight. The summer heat is going to be a major hurdle, but think of how much quicker I will be come Fall.

July 2nd is the midpoint of the year. I'd like to be as close to 50 pounds lost by midyear and I'd like to lose 100 pounds this year. Which will also likely mean losing more in the 2nd half of the year than the first. An average of just over 1.9 pounds/week will get me the 100 pounds lost so the top end of healthy weight loss will get me where I want to go.

I've lost an average of 2.6 pounds a week for the last 5 weeks. This has been since I've started counting calories and weighing again. Hopefully 1.9ish is achievable.

Thanks Buddy!
