From alpha testing to the QUERCUS 200

I have a spin bike, but it bothers my back. Anything else and I'd have to go to the gym. I would likely run on the indoor track if i did that. I suppose the short answer would be no.

This time of year it can be tough to run. I get up super early to try to beat the heat and humidity. It helps a little, but I love running around October!!

I have also been putting either 2 or 5 lb ankle weights on and walking, I was surprised at how many calories that burned, it does take more time than running, but I'm not a bucket of sweat at the end!

I get up too early as it is. I'll just have to adjust.

yoga 20 minutes

This felt good. I ate like a pig today. Well over calories for today. I was super hungry. Back on track tomorrow.

I bet that yoga is good for your back. Well its cool here in Tejas today! Gonna hit the track! How bout you?

It was supposed to storm all evening as of this morning so I made social plans with a friend for this evening. I will either be running in the dark or doing more yoga and some weightlifting.

I signed up for a kickball team with some coworkers. This is the first team I've been on since high school and the first group/social thing in a long time too. First game is next Tuesday. I think we are the Toejammers. Yikes! I got my cousin to join the team, but my wife is reluctant.

I was at 2,300 for calories yesterday. I didn't do any exercise. This has been my weakest week of exercise this year with only one day of running and 20 minutes of yoga so far. I think I needed the break though and with 3 days left I will likely still end the week with 4 days of running and at least another session of yoga. What's odd is that I don't feel very rested this morning. I'm quite tired and my back is a bit sore. If it is still sore this evening I will likely do the lower back yoga before my run.

With the 2 days over calories, less exercise, and a crummy weigh in last Saturday I'm not hopeful for tomorrow's weigh-in. Here is the bright side: I now consider a week with 5 days of eating right, potentially 4 days of running and 2 days of yoga to be a bad week. That's a high bar for failure as it should be. I hope to lose weight or at least stay below 300, but regardless of the number I will keep moving in the right direction.

Taking a week off exercise three times a year is even good for your muscles (if you usually work out 5 times a week) so just wait and see. Raising the bar is a good thing and looking back at where it used to be can be a real motivation (remembering a time when I was slim and healthy but couldn´t stand up from the floor without using my hands...)

I took the break because my body needed it. I guess I was a little disappointed that my body needed that much break. I'm feeling a bit beat up this morning and I'm afraid that I'm going to have to allow for fewer running days and more rest days at least for a little while.

296.4 for week 7 of 60-90 weeks is -1.2 pound this week -14.6 pounds for 7 weeks and -36.8 pounds for the year. My average is now -1.5 pounds per week. That's 253 pounds by the end of the year at that rate. I had two days over calories and 2 days of running. Hopefully next week is a better loss, but this is a good and healthy rate and I would be satisfied to have this as my normal rate of loss.

Q, Look at it this way: You've worked incredibly hard for a LONG time, and after you are done with this you will be a lot more motivated and determined to keep going.

Not even athletes can work multiple times, every week of the year, without eventually taking a break. They cannot perform at their best 24/7 for the whole year. No one on his sane mind would expect that from them either. Just don't let the break get out of control (I know I've done it :biggrinjester: ) and it should be fine.

I'd say, tell yourself how long the break is going to be, what you are going to do during that time, and when you will go back to your usual schedule. That way you'll know it's coming and you can prepare for it.

Well, that is just what I would do anyway :). But keep going Q! you haven't stopped and you're still making progress! :)

Well put Athala! Nothing will stop you now Q. You're still a man on a mission & taking a short break won't change that. Cheers, Cate.

I always find so much motivation and positive energy in your thread, Q! Thank you. You're a running machine. And thanks for the heads up on the running thread. Loving it.

Thanks you Athala!
Thanks you Cate!
Thank you Amber!

I find motivation from your efforts and your positive support.

Run
30 min
2.15 miles
144 avg hr

I just ran with a countdown timer for 30 minutes. I can't focus on speed or distance right now while it's such a struggle.

I took yesterday off.

Run
30 minutes
2.33 miles
159 bpm avg hr

It was 100 f***ing degrees where I ran today! 38C for those of you with sane units of measure.

Brawny I'm closer to Mexico than home at the moment. I think it was 90 at the house when I ran here. It should make running once I get home much easier.

I could go for your temp Cate. I'm on foot in the heat as the work truck AC broke and is in the shop. Actually I'm back at the hotel, but it was a long hot walk to get here.

Yoga
45 minutes
This is what I need in my life. I was so tight through a lot of the poses and movements, but I improved during the video. I feel really good now. This was all beginner stuff, but it is really going to improve flexibility, strength, and balance.

That is the site I am using. She is easy going and mellow and explains things well.

Don't you just love yoga? I know I do. :biggrinjester:

I need to get back in the habit of doing it daily, but I really liked it a lot. It works your muscles, helps with flexibility and to relax as well. :)

I'm gonna check that website too. :)

Have a great day Q!
