Frogged's Lily Pad

The vibes and virtual hugs are always welcome!

They're helping! I'm down almost another 3lb this week (2.8 to be exact), so that makes roughly 15lb of this retention weight gone in the last 4 weeks

The pool party was fun! I work with good people, but I was starving. My co-worker's place is so gorgeous.. I was a bit envious! I snapped 2 quick pics from my view point before everyone started arriving. It's surrounded by trees and fields, and there was such a lovely breeze almost the entire time. If you closed your eyes, you could've just as easily been on a deserted island or something. Just a really comfortable atmosphere. I want something like that one day

Not bad for a mail man's salary, although his wife is an RN, so maybe that helps. hehe

Anyway, I didn't binge, but I did have a hotdog, some deviled eggs, like a handful of chips, some baked corn, and like a spoon of this crab dip stuff. I did pretty well today, but I probably went a little over my calorie limits, but no pastas or ice cream. There was mac'n'cheese at the party, which I eyed for like 20s, then just moved passed - ugh that was tough. It's a childhood favorite and something I haven't had in months.. but, yeah. Had an oven-roasted 6'' sub from Subway for dinner later in the day.

I was 183.2 this morning, and I just weighed myself a moment ago and I was 189.2, so "6lb" up today, haha :p

I know it's crazy to weigh yourself every day (sometimes twice a day), but it's just been something I've always done.

Yeah, that video is pretty hard to watch, but I have faith in David. I'm optimistic for him! I've already subscribed to his new channel and I'm gonna follow along with him as best I can. I'll even see if maybe he'd be interested in joining our little family here on the forums

Thanks for the lovely responses, Loch and Tete! I trust you're all doing well, but just to make sure, I'm off to read up on some diaries!

Many hugs and good vibes to you all!

I remember seeing that on the news when it first aired! So sad, but I'm very happy that he has a great gal by his side. I'm also glad that you're reaching out to him, Frogged!

Looks like a great place to have a pool party! Man, I haven't been to a pool party in forever. I remember always dreading them, but I'm glad you had fun and didn't go crazy on all that delicious sounding food. I'm not sure I would have been able to resist the mac n cheese!

I'm totally in the same boat with weighing myself every day. Honestly, I usually do it at least 3 times a day! But, it doesn't really get me down seeing the numbers go up and down slightly. I find it more motivating than anything, plus it helps me find out which types of foods will cause a lot of retention weight and what not. I can see how it can be bad for some people, though. I know starting out it can be really discouraging if you work really really hard for a day and not see a ton of change or even a gain and get all upset about it and quit. At least for me, since I've made progress and now know what works for me and what doesn't, seeing a small gain doesn't upset me and I have a better understanding as to WHY I'm seeing a gain (e.g., I ate a bunch of pad thai over the weekend, or too much bread or something)

Anyway, congrats on the 3lb loss this week!!! Keep it up!!!

ACongrats on the 3 lb loss!! That is excellent! :)

I've gotten into the habit of weighing myself pretty much everyday too. It's just part of my morning routine now. I know I shouldn't, but I still do it. lol! I use it as motivation to be good that day. I don't think it's a big deal, unless you let it bother you.

Oh, and good job resisting that mac n' cheese!!

Wow that house looks amazing..

Really feel you on the mac and cheese. My other half is American and I think Kraft Mac and Cheese is orgassssmic. Can't get it over here though :( Good luck and well done on the 3lbs :p

Thank you, my dear ladies! You're all so lovely
smile.gif

Hoping to hit another good number this coming week! I've been doing a lot of work around the house lately. I painted my front walkway/step area green.. hehe  Looks 100x better. Next, I'll be painting my patio fence in the backyard green!

I'll have to post pics here soon.

Anyway, hugs and good vibes to you all! :hug2:

AYour friends house is very very nice....I bet you had a wonderful time :)

...and how about those freaking pounds gone...that is beyond awesome!! CONGRATS!!! :hurray: you are so kicking ass and taking names!! love it!

Yeah, it was a nice time :) Only stayed for about 2 hours though as I had some errands I wanted to run.

The following day at work, some co-workers said I really missed out. That apparently, not long after I left, a few people got a bit lit and some interesting things happened, lol. Now, the co-worker telling me this is a bit of a character. You can really only believe about 40% of what he says :p

The pounds are coming off! But, my body feels racked right now :( During my run today, while it was good and I got my miles in, my legs felt like dead weight at times. The number on the scale is 'ok', nothing stellar. I might skate by with a bit of a loss tomorrow, but it probably won't land me in the 170's like I had hoped.

Oh, and next weekend, I'm having company over and there's gonna be a BBQ on Friday, and a seafood restaurant outing on Saturday.. uh oh.

Gonna have to be on my guard, because the people coming are rather big into drinking and food (italians), lol :)

Always love reading your stuff Frogged! Had to grab a peice of gum while reading because you always remind me to chew gum Lol
smile.gif
Although I read I don't always have a lot to say, but I stop in and read and I just think you are so awesome because you are always here, you just keep going, and you've come so far! I know I always say that to you but really you are amazing for all your hard work, and man the miles you put in on that treadmill!

Thanks for sharing the utube video too... he looked so great. It is so sad to slip back, I've been in that war with myself for quite awhile now. Not as much weight as him, but still struggling with the food and feelings...

ACome on where ya be...Mr Froggy!! haha.....Hope you are just crazy busy and all is ok :) Us moms are worry warts you know!! lol ;)

Hehe, I'm sorry, my lovely forum mother :)

Time has been escaping me! I promise I'll update and get to some diaries here soon!

Things are well! I had some company visiting for a few days and I've been working like a crazy person trying to accommodate and show a good time to all. Like you all, I'm also a worry wart :) I have to make sure everyone is ok all the time (which can be pretty draining)!

Thank you for checking up on me, and I also appreciate your super sweet post, Rainy! :] I do my best!

I will post a proper update tomorrow, but it's already after midnight and I seriously need to get to bed :)

Haha, well thanks, Dave!
smile.gif

Ok, update!

Um, things are going well for the most part.

It was a great time seeing my visiting friends! They're such a great couple, and so much fun to hang out with! We had a small BBQ on Friday evening, followed by some Go Karts the following Saturday
smile.gif
I did go a little overboard on my calories though while they were here, but I did my best to make up for it by doing almost 9 miles on the treadmill the day they left. I broke even this week, so no loss/gain.

Ah well, it happens
smile.gif
I am set for another good entry though in this upcoming weigh in! I'm really trying my best to reach my 200lb goal before September 9th (the day of my Heart Walk)!

Hmmm, not much else to report. My weight loss is still my top priority, but what kind of update would this be without a little delve into my social life :p

Things on that front are, well, kind of still up in the air. The BBQ was nice! I invited my friend (girl) that I had been sorta hanging out with the last few months. She's doing good (got a big promotion recently), so I'm really happy for her! :) We didn't have much time to talk as she was on call the entire time she came over. Probably only spent ~45min before she had to go, but she managed to have some food and I gave her a birthday gift (the 27th was her birthday), which she got a laugh out of, hehe :) It was very, very dorky!

But, anyway, I'm still single - in case that was a question going through anyone's head, hehe :p

I have been sorta communicating with a few girls I've met through various means (chatroulette, okcupid), and well.. it's interesting to say the least.

Anyway, not much to report really, hehe. My weight loss is still on track and I'm hoping everyone is well!
smile.gif

AI think your posts pretty much require a social update at this point. :p Chatroulette?! oh boy! lol!

Glad to hear your weight loss is still on track! :)

Hey frogged, it's been awhile. Looks like you're doing great! If you don't mind, I'd like to get some advice as to how to start running. How did you get started? How far did you run, how long, how did you improve yourself, etc? Sorry if it seems like a dumb question. Glad you had a good time with your friends, that's a very important thing. As far as trying to find someone online, my husband and I are an example that it can happen. We met through a site called plentyoffish.com. Granted I had to go through quite a few imbissals (sp?) before I found him, but he was definitely worth it. A year after starting to date we got engaged and a year after that (only a couple months ago) we got married. I hope you find what your looking for and don't worry if it takes you awhile, it took me more than two years. :)

Yah, pretty much, right? :p lol

Don't worry, I'm not too weird on CR.. unless I'm a little tipsy, then the Spidey outfit may make an appearance! bahaha ;)

Hi rainy, I try to update as much as I can! 9 miles is a rare thing, but I get those moments every so often :)

Thanks for stopping by my little pad here! :)

I'm doing my best, Munch! Happy to see you still around

Well, the best advice I can give you is to do it very gradually! Start out slow, please. May not even work up much of a sweat for the first week or two. Just walk at a comfortable pace for a few days to see how your body handles it, and to see if you notice any sore areas.

Don't push yourself in the beginning. If you feel any pain or discomfort, stop and take a day or two off. It's not a race!

Then maybe after the first month, try introducing intervals. Walk for 5min at your comfort pace, then do a light jog for 1min, then walk 5min, jog 1min. Do that for the next few weeks, then start increasing the intensity of your 1min jog by like .5mph, then after a week or two of that, increase it by a full 1mph.

They say the best speed is the one where you can talk, but not comfortably hold a conversation with someone. You don't want to be at a point where it's too easy, or too hard. Find the consistent point to keep your heart rate up without risking a fall.

Oh, and yeah, I've dabbled here and there on dating websites. Not seriously, but just to see whats going on in my area and if I could spark anyone's fancy by chance. My friend suggested taking some of my 'before' pictures and making a profile using only them. That way, it would filter out the more shallow individuals, and when we met, they would be a bit surprised (in a good way I hope!), lol

I dunno. I'm glad it worked out for ya tho, Munch!

Thanks for the kind words, and if you need any additional info about tips and/or advice on running, feel free to PM me anytime

Oh, and today was the Heart Walk where I accepted my Lifestyle Change Award

There were just a few small pics taken. Not many people from my family were able to attend as some were out of the country and others had to work. My grandmother and a good friend of mine showed up though. We participated in the walk afterward, and it was such a beautiful day!

However, I do wish we had taken video. My grandmother's camera had HD capability, which I didn't even think about :) She recorded about 3 sec of me, and the other participants, standing up there. It was by accident though as she was meaning to take a pic, but didn't realize the setting was on 'record' for a moment, lol

At any rate, here's the only 2 pics she took from the event.

And I guess I'll also post the 3sec-long video shot by accident.. lol :p

My number broke even this week, and even though we did a little celebrating today food-wise (sweets!), I'm hoping for a good loss this coming week

Hope everyone is well!

This week has to be one of the worst I've encountered in a while.

Just awful. Everything about it can fuck off as far as I'm concerned :\

Let's see.. the new treadmill broke (only took me 3 months to wear it down), so I've been unable to get my usual workouts in. As such, I've had to become creative as I refuse to take a 'rest week', so I've been running around in my backyard. I wait until the heat of the day fades, then I go out and light a few tiki torches, bring out a radio with aux input for my ipod, then just run around the perimeter of my fire pit with my puppy.

It works out pretty well as the terrain in my yard is on a slope, so I always have a bit of an incline. I'm able to get a good sweat going, but the scale is showing me no real mercy. My diet hasn't been stellar either (lot of foot-long subs from Subway), and eating when I shouldn't :( Nothing unhealthy, but the times are bad.. eh.

Been battling a nice, healthy episode of depression as well due to several factors. One such that just kind of landed at my feet was the sudden knowledge that someone I knew, and was becoming friends with, was killed last night at almost the exact time I'm posting this entry :( She was killed at about 9:30pm yesterday by a drunk driver on a stretch of road I actually delivered mail on in years past..

I was actually her mail man from time to time, and just recently began getting hair cuts from her. She owned a salon right by the post office that I started going to every few weeks. Really sweet, pretty girl and only 33.. just terrible :( I was shocked when I found out and it's left me feeling even more deflated emotionally.

To say I'm in a slump is a bit of an understatement. Yeah, I'll bounce back as I do, but it's much easier said than done when you're in the moment :(

Well I was going to start out by saying how impressed I am at your weight loss and your journey but I'm sure that's not what you need to hear right now.... I am SO extremely sorry for the loss of your friend, that is so tragic! In our town drunk drivers pretty much just get a slap on the wrist, sometimes a kiss on the cheek... I wish there were harsher punishment for drunk drivers because it does kill. I am just so sorry for the loss. and I'm sorry for all you are going through this week.

I hope you have many many great weeks to come to compensate for the shitty one you are having this week. Keep your head held high!

AI'm so sorry to hear about your friend, Greg. That's just an awful thing, especially at such a young age. :( I'm 33 and can't even imagine being taken away now, there's so much left to see and do. Hopefully the drunk driver that killed her, will NOT just receive a slap on the wrist, but harsh punishment, as he or she should.

[/quote]

I couldn't agree more with this statement. Next week has to be better!

Oh, Greg. I'm so so sorry about your friend. I hate to hear that. I don't understand what makes people think it's okay to get into a car and drive drunk. It's not worth the risk even in the slightest and I have no tolerance for people who do it, even if they "think" they're fine or haven't had "that much". It breaks my heart to hear about this. :)

I know we don't really know each other, but honestly, if you need anything I'm here for you!
