Frogged's Lily Pad

K, so it's a little after 2am and we just got back. I smell of cigarettes, cheap perfume, and alcohol. lol

There was actually talk of doing some off-roading tonight! But oh my,.. no. No, no, no.

I'm so tired, but it was a fun night! Didn't eat anything, but I spent wayyy too much on rum/diet :\

Tomorrow, we'll probably finish off that monopoly game, perhaps do some off-roading, then my roommate and I will be traveling back home. The drive takes roughly 3 hours and it's quite dull as there's hardly any scenery - it's all mountains and wooded areas.

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well :) I'm gonna go pass out now!

Back home, and wow this weekend was rough - but fun! A write-off this week pretty much. I was off my usual foods, but I had some bars with me and did my best. I didn't eat great, but I also got in some unique exercise. The soccer was a blast! :p

Don't feel very well atm though. Very lethargic from the trip.

Resuming my usual routine tomorrow :)

AGlad you had fun on your getaway!! sounded fun :) You earned a good time! So don't worry about one week in the big scheme of things!!
I am sure you will get back on track tomorrow. ..we all know you are super human!! :):):)

BAYLAR THE PARROT SAYS HI.

Glad you had such a good weekend, you friggin' drunk. :D

haha, hope all is well and you've caught up with some sleep.

Not feeling so 'super' atm unfortunately, tete :( I'm getting that feeling of a potential cold yet again.. ugh.

It's funny, because I didn't feel this way until after I did my exercising, then my body just kind of went 'bllllleghhhh..' and now I sit here with a bit of a headache, soar-ish throat, constricted chest, and a rather heavy feeling of fatigue.

Trying to think about this weekend and wondering what of the many triggers could've possibly caused this.

Let's see, well my roommate was feeling sick and coughing/sneezing all over the place. Then, we played soccer in weather that felt like -20 with the gusting wind and I was only wearing a (very) light hoodie because I was told it would be warm - thanks again, roomie!

Just feel like crap :( Might go to bed soon.

Thanks for stopping by to check up on me, my forum mother! :p I hope you're also doing well!

I will be back on track. These last few weeks have been, for lack of a better word, bullshit! lol :)

lol, oh god.. where on earth did you find that? Or did you make it? baha :p

I miss Baylar actually :( Cute little fella, and he didn't keep me awake all night even while I was sleeping on the sofa. Although he might've been kept in his mom and dad's room for the night. He only came out and started climbing on my head after Richie got up to get a drink.

Eh, yeah, I should watch any alcohol consumption more closely. It's not good for my weight loss, plus I don't want to get pegged as a 'friggin' drunk', hah:p Might not be good for motivational purposes. I've already been battling this water weight/plateau, and now I might have a new cold thrown into the mix, so it's time to step back and figure some things out.

Thanks for the laugh, Sarah! :) Hope all is well in your part of the globe :)

So I'm trying to focus on diary responses, but I chugged some nyquil and my body is starting to feel it.

I'm feeling quite cruddy atm :\ But I promise to get to more journals when I can! It's a few min after 8pm here and already I'm thinking of crashing.

ugggggggh.. f'in colds.

AI had a cold that lasted most of January. It was awful! Nyquil and honey chamomile tea. Mmmmm. They helped greatly!

AI've been sick the last few weeks, just when I think it's gone, it comes back. So not fun. Get plenty of rest and feel better! :)

Yeah, definitely got something. Damn, damn, damn :(

I stocked up on nyquil, cough drops, and got my water jugs topped off.

Did some light exercise earlier, but felt really crumby for every second I was on the treadmill. I didn't run at very high speeds, but managed to get in a little over 2 miles so far. I might try to do later if I feel a little more energetic :[

Wow way to tough it out... getting in any exercise when feeling cruddy is hard. btw thanks for your support on my journal it means a lot... I really look up to you for all you have acheived

Saw this, thought of you!

Hope you have a nice weekend, and that you're now rid of that horrible cold!

Doing my best, rainy :)

Sure thing! Of course, I'm more than happy to offer any support and advice that I can :) There's so many great people on this forum, I wish I could do more to help them all, but I'm just one guy :(

I do my best! :)

Ok... that picture literally had me rolling :p LOL, only you would find something that amazing, Sarah! Amazing! :D

How fortunate I am to have crossed paths with such incredible people on this forum! I feel so lucky every day I visit these forums :)

Speaking of which, my apologizes for being a little 'afk' the last day or so :( This cold ravaged me pretty good, and continues to do so. I'm a bit zonked on Nyquil as I type this, and I've been passing out really early the last few days (7/8pm), and sleeping roughly ~10 hours each night. So, getting enough rest!

I'm also continuing to push through my treadmill exercises of 5 miles per day in roughly an hour, so that's good - but draining :)

Hoping for a good loss this week! I'm fed up with seeing red entries on my chart - no more! Only green from now on! :D

Thanks again, everyone, for your lovely support (and laughs! haha) :p Hope you're all doing well!

Feeling frayed today :\

Work was tough. Cold has transformed my voice into some kind of congested/robotic/old man type of thing. I don't sound like myself at all now.

I managed to do about 5.250 miles tonight in about an hour. I weighed myself for giggles afterward and was still hovering around 193ish.. blegh. Taking nyquil tonight to try and help me sleep.

Oh, and I got some new running shoes the other day! :) I decided to go back to my trusty New Balance MR993's after being with Asics Gel Nimbus 12 for a couple months.

The MR993's were the original shoes I wore when I first started losing weight. I went through about 5 pairs for the first 150+ pounds I lost over the initial years. I only tried the Asics this most recent time based on a recommendation - plus they had some green color in the theme :) They weren't bad, but I just felt like I needed to upgrade. I even put some cushioned insoles to try and make them last longer, but I believe it was time.

Checking on Amazon, I discovered the MR993 now had a black/green color! Oooo! AND, it was the cheaper one :) It's funny, but just switching colors can make the price change by almost $50! What..? Same exact shoe, but if you want it in black/red, you gotta pay about $149, but the black/green (same size and everything) is $89. Erm, yeah..

So, I couldn't resist :) Back to my trusty brand to bring me into the final stretch of my weight loss goals :)

Here's a pic of my sweet new 'kicks' - as my co-worker calls my shoes :)

Oh, and I don't wear these shoes for anything other than the treadmill. I always wear different shoes for work and for exercises just to make them last longer. Plus, I don't want to get dirt or other crap inside my machine while I'm running.

Hopefully tomorrow is a good weigh-in day. I've noticed since switching back to the NB the last 2 days, my legs are feeling slightly sore. My feet are ok, but my shin area is definitely feeling a bit strained. Hrmm. Guess I'll have to watch that!

Aoooo...cool shoes! I'd take 'em if they came in black and purple! :p

I think new shoes is what I'll be treating myself with next. Running type shoes and a new pair of purple converses... oh yeah! lol!

Enjoy your new shoes, Greg! :)

AHeya Greg :)

Hope you are feeling better and don't look like this :ack2: anymore (sorry, i love that face, had to use it :) )

I am super impressed with your 'running with a cold' That is an awesome acheviement :hurray: I, on the other hand have used a mental crisis as an excuse to do nothing!!! You have given me a good kick up the bum to get over myself and get back to running!!!

Loving the new trainers :) I totally loved my lovely new expensive trainers and swore that they would stay pristine but now that i run outside on the railway line they are just filthy. I might have to get myself a new pair cos i'm jealous of your shiny new ones :)

Hope you have a good weigh in this week mate :)

Hi Kate :)

Yeah, well, running with a cold is certainly not easy. There's a LOT of nose blowing involved! haha ;[ Sorry, pretty disgusting. But, I'm determined. Very determined. Cold or no cold, my feet are finding it's way on that treadmill the majority of each week.

My new 'kicks' aren't so new-looking anymore, as my puppy always feels the need to come over and lay her disgusting toys on me while I'm sitting watching TV in between workout sessions :p lol. She has this habit of taking her toys into my backyard, forgetting about them while they lay around in the dirt and filth for weeks, then suddenly she starts fancying them again and drags them back into the house. Then, with a determined look in her eyes, she will try to lay them on anyone lounging about in the living room. It's the strangest thing. When you push her away, she growls a bit and comes at you even more determined! She's a rather big rottweiler, so pushing her away doesn't do much. She's all muscle and very stubborn, so pushing her away has little effect :p lol! One day, I should record it because it's the funniest thing. If you just give in and let her do her thing, she will literally place her drool-soaked toy all over your shoes/pants as you're sitting there and completely soil your clothing.

Ok, anyway, so my shoes are a bit scruffed, but still in good shape :)

I've also developed a new strategy to combat this water weight (which I'm still fighting every day). I've ordered some potassium supplements that should be here in a few days. My water weight is still being obnoxious. There is one thing I haven't been doing as regularly as I have been, and that is taking my Boost shakes and Clif bars. Each which has a good amount of potassium, but they're kind of pricey. The Nature Valley bars I've been focused on have NO potassium! urg. Potassium helps the body regulate water in your body. I'm obviously in a state of deficiency. So, by incorporating an increased amount of potassium, and possibly teas + amino acids, I hope to regulate the way my body handles this water retention. In the mean time, I have been eating more bananas and I did pick up a few Clif bars that have about ~200mg of potassium per serving.

Hopefully, fingers crossed, this water weight won't be such a pain in the ass to deal with in the future. I definitely feel I'm lacking the sufficient nutrients to combat this issue.

So, we'll see :) This week is going so-so. Still dangling around the 190's, but it's ok. I'm expecting a green entry onto my chart this week - no matter what :)

Thanks for stopping by Jen and Kate! :)

AThey make a generic form of Boost, which is pretty tasty. I have some with me right now, actually. O.O

Your rott sounds adorable! My new puppy, Trillian, is just as stubborn. She is a lab/retriever mix, so she's not too small. She thinks she's a lap dog, though, and is SUPER persistent when it comes to cuddling. Lol! She's a sweetheart, though, and I'm a pushover....so...she usually wins. Haha!

Besides the cold, how have you been?

It's very difficult some days, Irish :\

Even when I am feeling fine physically. Emotionally though, sometimes I just feel spent and it takes a lot of willpower to get myself up and moving.

Anyway, hope you're well :)

Yeah, it's mostly the calories I'm worried about. Some versions, like the 'Plus' I was taking, have a lot (360). That's why I switched to the Nature Valley bars (190 cal), but I need an in-between I believe. So, I think I'm going to stock up on Clif bars. I found some on sale recently and ordered a box. I also have the potassium supplements coming this week, so fingers crossed, this water weight should finally start becoming regulated without me having to kill myself with cardio each week.

My puppy is a cutie, which leads her to getting away with a lot some days! hehe

The cold is nearly gone. I'm ok, just going along with the flow of the weeks, trying to keep my chart nice and green :)

Thanks again for stopping by, Irish and Robyn :) I'm always grateful for the support! :)

AHeya Greg :)
I loved reading about you baby girl, she sounds sooooo cute. I love rotty's but our house is just too small for one. We on the other hand have 3 annoying little dogs. Well, not too annoying :)
http://weight-loss.fitness.com/image/id/348631/width/350/height/155
Lola on the right is the most defiant little madam ever!!! And she is a little bit special needs so manages to get away with everything.
Roo next to her is her mum and she is old and deaf and she uses that as an excuse to completely ignore us too
Pooh Bear is one of my cats (yep you guessed it, the other one is called Piglet!!) but she thinks she is a dog
And finally Millie is the black one on the left. She is the only pet we have that acually does as she is told. She is a total sweetheart :) i would have a hundred if they were all like her.

Anyway, hope you are feeling better mate. Hugs.
