Frogged's Lily Pad

ALoving the new kicks!! my hubby just bought me a new pair of Brooks Ghost 4's(gift for my 50 pounds gone) and I was so surprised how getting a proper pair of running shoes makes my knees feel so much better on the treadmill and at the track.

Thats for the tip on the potassium...I am so salt sensitive and hold on to every last bit of water!! No bananas for me tho...I am allergic :(

Glad you are doing good!! Makes me happy to see you kicking butt :)

I'll check back in soon..be good young man!! haha

Roo next to her is her mum and she is old and deaf and she uses that as an excuse to completely ignore us too
Pooh Bear is one of my cats (yep you guessed it, the other one is called Piglet!!) but she thinks she is a dog
And finally Millie is the black one on the left. She is the only pet we have that acually does as she is told. She is a total sweetheart i would have a hundred if they were all like her.
Anyway, hope you are feeling better mate. Hugs.

Adorable! :D Reminds me of my Aunt's little pups! They're great lap dogs :)

Lol, Pooh Bear and Piglet :p Excellent. I really like cats too as I grew up with several my whole life. Unfortunately, I cant get one now as my Mila would probably torment or hurt it, unintentionally of course! Mila just gets very excited and doesn't know her own strength sometime when she's playing.

I am feeling better! :) The cold is almost completely gone! Hopefully this new strategy with the potassium supplements (Im also taking Cranberry supplements as well) will help shed this annoying water weight :)

OMG TETE! Congrats on the 50lb loss!! I'll officially do it in your diary, but that's just SOOOOOO awesome reaching that milestone! I'm so happy for you!:hurray: :hurray:

Wow, I honestly never heard of that brand! I'll have to go do a google search :)

Yeah, the water weight is definitely one of my arch enemies right now. The research Ive said states drinking water helps (which I always have done), but that potassium, pure cranberry, green lea, and lemon juice can also help. I've also been drinking 100% natural orange juice as well, which is loaded with potassium, but a lot of sugar too unfortunately!

Thanks for the support, as always, my forum mother!

It always puts a smile on my face to see everyone of my friends doing well - especially when they hit an awesome milestone!! :hurray:

..and I'll do my best to be good! hehe ;)

AHeya Greg :)

yeah, Pooh Bear and Piglet seemed a good idea at the time. I had a little bit of a Winnie the Pooh thing going on when i got them ( i was pregnant at the time, that's my excuse and i'm sticking to it). My oldest dog is called Roo (as in the baby kangaroo) too. It doesn't seem so good now when they have been shorted to Pig and Pooh. bless them. I really feel sorry for Pig now, bless her. What an awful thing to be called huh :)
I so know what you mean about dogs not having a clue at their own strength, especially when they are huge great big puppies. I reckon a kitten would have Mila wrapped around it's little paws though. :)

Glad you're feeling better and hope you manage to get the water weight sorted

Hugs X

Time is flying for some reason!

Good grief, it's really almost been a week since I checked in? Erm :(

Thanks for the posts, Kate and Jen :) I appreciate them as always!

Well, it's safe to say that I'm really struggling with this water weight. The fact that it was my birthday weekend didn't help whatsoever! Cake, parties, etc etc. Then, St. Patrick's Day yesterday. Oh man.. I drank waaaaaaaaaaaay too much :\ Plus, there was cake at the party for me! Some friends made a 'Star Wars' themed cake (had little action figures and everything!), and sang to me! It was Saturday night, but of course I had a piece! :)

Then.. the drinking began. It continued on.. and on.. and on. blegh. Fun night! I eventually collapsed onto a friend's bed, but not before rolling around on the floor like a maniac, grabbing people's legs as they walked by. Lol.. I have no recollection of this, but a camera was there and pics were taken to document my night! I also heard police showed up at some point in the night due to excessive noise, but I wasn't awake for that. My roommate and I got there at around 8:30 and didn't leave until around 2am. I was toasted.

Here's how my night was in a nutshell.

Yes, that would be me in the doorway. Apparently, I gave my friend's floor a good shine job! It was probably sparkling pretty with the amount of rolling around I was doing according to my friends and witnesses.

Suffice it to say, my weigh-in this week was not good. I will not hit the 200's again, but it may be some time before I'm in a smooth rhythm toward the 200lb weight loss mark. I actually ate very well and got in good exercise this week, but just one day of (heavy) slip-ups can spell disaster, as most of us know :(

I know I'll get there, and I know I will eventually figure out this retention issue. The supplements have not been doing much, unfortunately.

Anyway, there are more pics, but I'll need some time to sort through them. I'm not sure who was taking them, but there's a lot of crotch and butt shots. lol

Hope everyone had a fun and safe St. Patrick's Day. I sure did! lol :p

ABinge days/nights like that are sometimes therapeutic. You get it out of your system, and then you realize how bad it would be to do it every day. It's when you give up because of one "bad" night, and never look back.

As for water weight....are you taking any rest days? Or, are you mixing your week, doing g cardio every other day, and then throwing weights in on the odd days? If you don't, that water will sit in your muscles.

Ultimately, you shouldn't stress. You're doing this to be healthy, right? If you have a good diet, and are exercising, then don't worry! You're already way better off than you were when you started losing weight, right? :)

Ahahaha! Oh, Greg!

I agree with Robyn though.... Overall you're still eating good and exercising, and that's what's important. Accept your beer drinking, floor rolling, cake eating binge night, and move on. LOL! Today is a new day, my friend. :)

Hi Robyn :)

Yep. Agreed. Eating like that is such a good reminder as to why it's so important not to do it all the time. It makes you feel so awful afterward, depending on what you have. For me, I enjoy pasta, breads, cheeses, ice creams, cookies, etc. The usual junk food. It may taste and feel really good while consuming it, but not long after the fact, I'd almost rather feel hungry than deal with the cramps and general feeling of 'blegh' that I'm then stuck with - not to mention the annoying water weight that continues to compound on me.

I hadn't really thought about that in regards to the muscles holding onto water. I can usually feel my belly and thigh areas becoming much softer as I accumulate this retention. Clothes that I fit in just a week or so ago are now tight and can barely be buttoned :[

I just have to focus is all. No more parties or birthday celebrations to worry about, thank goodness! As fun as they were, it's time to get back into this battle.

Sunday is my rest day, even though I have been doing a quick 30min cardio session in the morning just to get my body rev'd up for the following junk food. I do some strength training with a 35lb kettle bell my uncle gave me, along with push-ups and sit-ups on Mon/Wed/Fri.

lol Jen :p

Well, it was a mixture of beer and rum, so... yeah. I've learned some valuable things that night:

1. Never mix drinks early (or ever) again.

and

2. Put a lock on my phone.

Some of my friends got their hands on it and texted some pretty rude things to some people in my contacts. erm..

Thankfully, they knew it wasn't me saying it!

Today is definitely a new day, even though it was quite irritating. BOTH of my Jeeps are at my mechanic's shop for repairs, so I'm stuck borrowing a co-workers right-hand drive vehicle for a day or two. ugh.. and today was just so heavy with mail. It rained, and I just felt like crap overall. I wanted it to be over quick, and it was anything but fast :(

Anyway, got in my hour / 5 miles of cardio along with some kettle bell workouts tonight. Ate well, for the most part. I probably didn't eat enough as I mistakenly left my bars in my jeep when it got towed. I managed to get my hands on some crackers and a peanut butter sandwich though throughout the day, then I had some Kashi cereal with honey before I ran tonight.

So, we'll see :) I'm really expecting a good number this week as I have no plans to drink any alcohol whatsoever.. I think I did enough of that on Saturday. hah hah.

What's the saying... umm... "Beer before liquor, never sicker... Liquor before beer, you're in the clear" It's an old wives tale though, so yeeeah, not sure how much I would depend on that. Your safest bet is to just stay away....far, far away...LOL! I hope your weigh in goes good! :)

LOL, that sound funny Jen.

And Frogged, "Final Treadmill Tally: 95 minutes, 7.231 miles, ~1140 calories" is really good. Do keep it up and never miss your diary :) It helps you track down your progress. You're there!

sounds like you had a fun night. I kinda laughed when you said there was alot of butt and crotch pictures. you need a new guy on camera duty. If anything there should be pictures of the honeys there not your crotch. there is always some kind of stuff happening to your phone. next time id leave it in the car.

I've heard that, but I'm not exactly sure how it works if you mix the two together at the same time (oh, yes I did..). My cup at one point had rum, beer, and jungle juice! =[

I'm not drinking a drop of alcohol this week, and I'm focused like a god damn laser, so I'm hoping to annihilate a good amount of water weight this week!

Haha, well that was a while ago :)

I had to stop pushing myself so much because it was really stressing my body. I've backed off a bit to about 5 miles a day.

I try to keep my diary updated as often as I can :) Just sometimes, there's nothing too fancy to report :)

Lol, fun.. disgraceful.. ridiculous.. - take your pick! Any word will do for that night :p

Yeah, I still don't know who was using the camera, but no doubt they were drunk.

There were a few ladies, but I don't think their boyfriends would've appreciated pictures being taken of them like that!

I put a lock on my phone now, so it won't be a problem anymore - unless someone steals it away from me while I'm doing something on it :[

I have a soft spot in my heart for rum of all sorts. My drinks used to be 99% rum 1% coke. you could literally smell it from 20 feet away. Dont drink to much anymore though. those days are behind me. now just a non alcoholic beer from time to time. There used to be like a chilies restaurant inside the same parking lot as the movies. my girlfriend and i used to go in there and have all sorts of drinks at the bar then walked hammered over to the movies and watch movies for a few hours. by the time the movies were over we were sober enough to drive home. its a great system =P.

.. Yikes, Frogged! You freaking sadist!

Aw! what happens if you eat banana? I have a friend who needs to eat a lot of banana because of low potassium by birth. He's actually sick now with kidney failure and was caused originally by low potassium. His potassium has gone normal now but his kidneys has been damaged, leading him to have twice a week dialysis. He's still 23! :(

Haha! :p Why even bother with the coke? :p

That sounds like a pretty fun system! :)
