Hello everyone

I've decided to start chronicling some thoughts and experiences I've been going through on my weight loss regimen.

I've been around these forums for years, but only recently created an account a few months ago. I have a thread in the Before & After section with some pics and a brief outline of why I decided to make the change. I also have a link to my regimen including the diet, exercise, and also my weight loss chart I've been updating since I started 2 years ago

Here's the link if anyone is curious and doesn't want to go navigating for my thread

Ok, so where to start.

I recently moved into a new house a few months ago. I live with my best friend whom I've known since 1st grade. He currently doesn't have a job, but is looking (he's in the process of becoming an RN). I work for the USPS as an RCA (Rural Carrier). It's good work, pays well, but can be very stressful (especially when it snows!). I own 2 jeeps and have a pet rottweiler puppy named Mila - she's a joy, but has a habit of jumping up on people when she gets excited. She LOVES people! :p

Alright, well that's just a brief outline of my situation in life right now. It's a tad stressful because I'm taking care of the majority of bills right now, but that hasn't stopped me from maintaining my focus with my healthy lifestyle.

I work with some great people. My one co-worker owns an orchard and provides me with free fruit on occasion. I recently acquired an entire crate of peaches! :drool5: He wants some pies made, but I might eat them all before I get a chance to bake any! haha  He also tosses me a few golden delicious apples and nectarines when they're in season - good stuff!

Anyway, the reason I decided to create a diary actually is because I'm experiencing an unusual amount of motivation in regards to my exercise. It's almost to the point of being excessive! I've been doing about 6-7 miles per day on the treadmill. My feet ache and my legs are a bit sore, but I just can't help wanting to jump on that machine!

It goes without saying that I am being careful. I am pretty conditioned for this and I've been using the treadmill every day, Mon-Sat, for the last 2 years. I would not recommend anyone starting out to attempt this kind of routine, haha :p The motivation I've had recently can be contributed to several things. One of which is a close friend that has really helped me with this journey. She has always been a solid and incredible source of motivation for me, but she lives very far away unfortunately. I spoke to her not too long ago and discovered she is having difficulty with her regimen due to stress in her life, so something inside me has ignited. I can't really explain it and I haven't felt anything like this before. Maybe it's because she has helped me so much over the last few months and has shown me such kindness that I feel the need to help her the only way I know how to right now - and that's to hopefully inspire her and everybody else by continuing to have great results

My day today consisted of consuming roughly ~2200 calories and doing 95 minutes on the treadmill that resulted in about 7.4 miles. Yesterday, I did 6.7 miles and the day before, I did 7 miles.

I'm able to run at the maximum speed of the treadmill (12mph) for about 30-45s every now and then during my walking/running routine.

Feeling tired, but really good right now
smile.gif
I have to run 2 separate mail routes tomorrow, so that should provide some good exercise in itself! Then when I get home, I plan on doing at least another 5-7 miles on the treadmill

I almost want to do more tonight, but I should really get to sleep
smile.gif

Oh, and my intake for today was as follows:

7am - Peanut Butter & Apple Butter Sandwich + 1 Peach

10am - Boost Plus Nutritional Drink

12pm - 1 Fiber Bar with 1 Cup Milk

2pm - 1 Fiber Bar with 1 Cup Milk

4pm - Peanut Butter & Apple Butter Sandwich + 2 Peaches

6pm - 1 Peach

Love peaches!

Hey Frogged!! Thanks so much for visiting my diary the other day!! I loved reading this tread! Your puppy sounds ADORABLE!!:beating:

I cant believe you are addicted to exercising!! I wish i was as motivated as you! Well done on completing 7 miles on the treadmill everyday, that is AMAZING. eeeeeeeek i couldnt do it!!

Anyway keep doing what you are doing:)

ASeven miles?!....I can't even imagine. I'd die.......and if didn't die, I'd fall off and for sure have something happen that was worthy of America's Funniest Home Videos. ..hahaha! Glad to see you started a diary! :)

Thanks Irish and Jen

I probably should have started one sooner as I do enjoy writing! It can be very therapeutic for me during tough times
smile.gif

Life is so funny. I woke up today feeling good! My feet were a tad achy, but not too bad.

You would think I'd be doing well with my weight this week seeing as I added another 2 miles onto my daily exercise routine, but the scale read 189.4 this morning! lol, what? :p

I guess maybe stuffing myself with peaches isn't such a noble idea since there's a lot of sugar in them. Maybe I'll hold back and only have 1 or 2 today  I just had my first with my usual peanut butter & apple butter sandwich for breakfast
smile.gif

I don't have to be at work for another hour (I only live 5min from my job), so I guess I'll go take Mila out and then watch some TV for a bit.

I never exercise in the mornings btw. I always like it nice and quiet after waking up. The treadmill has always been an afternoon/evening/nighttime thing for me
smile.gif

AI hate exercising in the morning to, like to exercise in the afternoon or evening. I like taking things slow in the morning.

Hi MLB

Amen to that! I am definitely not much of a morning person :p

Hey all :)

So today went pretty well actually. Got a little soaked on my right side, but nothing crazy. It only rained for about 20 minutes :)

They say the East Coast is going to get pounded with rain later, so we'll see!

Feeling really good today for some reason! I feel energized and ready to exercise here in a few minutes.

I've also been able to start doing something I haven't done since I was a kid - climbing trees! haha :p I know it sounds strange, but I like climbing things like that. Makes me feel like Spider-Man sorta, plus it's a big accomplishment considering I could barely climb a set of steps back when I was 350+! Forget about trying to haul that mammoth stature up a tree limb, haha :p

My puppy, Mila, goes a little wild whenever she sees me up there. I think she gets worried and starts going a little spastic, hehe. Here's a pic of her from my vantage point:

Oh, and here are the DELICIOUS peaches my co-worker gave me earlier this week. I almost can't stop eating them, they're so tasty

My intake today is as follows:

6am - Peanut Butter & Apple Butter Sandwich with 1 Peach

9am - Boost Plus Shake

11:30am - Peanut Butter Full Bar

12:45pm - Fiber Bar with 1 cup milk

2pm - Fiber Bar with 1 cup milk

4pm - Peanut Butter Full Bar with 1 Peach

So about 1900 calories when you factor in all the gum I chewed as well

Now just the treadmill remains!

I love, love, LOVE your puppy! Rotts are so adorable. They're incredibly sweet and cuddly. I'm very jealous! :cuss:

Isn't it sad that peaches have to have so much sugar? I wish fruit like that could count for nothing when dieting. /sigh

Keep up all of the great work! Thank you so much for dropping by my posts. You totally have a stalker, now. :hug2:

Thanks Robyn!

Hehe, yeah, she is adorable :p Although she needs some more training as she has a habit of not only jumping on new people (she sometimes thinks she's a lap dog - an 85lb lap dog! hah), but also getting a little rough when she plays! Whenever I climb down off that tree, she tends to attack my shoes for some reason. My roommate and I think she has a bit of a foot fetish as she always seems to go for our feet whenever we're playing, haha

Wouldn't that be nice about the peaches, eh? Yeah, if it counted for nothing, I'd pretty much have an entire room in my house converted into a storage room for them

Thanks for stopping by!

And I don't think I'm THAT interesting, but feel free to stalk away! lol

47 minutes and 3.865 miles on the treadmill later.

Feet are a little achy, but I'll be ready for more soon

..aaand time.

Complete exercise for the day:

Not sure how many footsteps I covered running around today at work. I was running around a lot so it was probably a few hundred
smile.gif

Treadmill: 86 minutes, 7.042 miles, 1100 calories burned (according to the readout - it's probably not very accurate right now)

Good day!

Hmmm, woke up so early today. Feeling kind of strange, but good I guess. Today is my lax day and I had a pretty big bowl of Captain Crunch just a minute ago :p

I was sort of wired yesterday. I'm usually like that after a heavy work day, and after finishing my treadmill exercise, I was feeling sort of dizzy. I might have to increase my calorie intake as a result of this new regimen just to make sure I have appropriate energy
smile.gif

Even though I've been doing about 7 miles on the treadmill for the majority of this week, and eating right, I only lost 0.2 pounds today. Well, a loss is a loss, so that's good
smile.gif

Hope everyone is having a good day!

AI know what you mean about the peaches, they have become my favorite fruit now, and it really is a shame about all that sugar in them, otherwise I would have them all day long.

ALove that pic of your Rotty!! She is like "daddy....I want up there too..lol"

How freaking awesome to be able to climb a tree again....such a great feeling I bet!! You are doing great!! CONGRATS :)

Thanks tetemcg  It is a great feeling being able to do things I haven't done in so long! I'd love to go kayaking again sometime soon too! I miss being on the water

She did try to climb up sorta the first time I did, but she got so frustrated and just started barking at the tree eventually :p

Hmmm, what an interesting day today!

Had to run 2 separate mail routes again today, and I almost fell out of my Jeep during the second one  lol.

The door on my jeep deteriorated to a degree where the top hinge came off and the door flew open while I was making a pretty hard left turn. I was leaning my arm out the window and the damn thing flew open and I nearly fell sideways onto the road! haha. I had to grab my door, slam the brakes on, and pull myself back in. Hurt my side a little, but other than that, no injuries thank goodness :p

Luckily, my mechanic is right on the road to my house, so I stopped in and showed him how awful my door had become. You can't even close it hardly.

Here's some pics to show how awful it was  The rust and everything. The hinge just tore completely off the side :cuss:

On a lighter note, midway through the route, I noticed a little grasshopper on the hood of my Jeep. It was interesting because he would not budge - even when I was accelerating at a good speed. He was determined to ride along with me :p

He eventually scooted off after about 10 minutes - I guess he got tired of the wind gusts and the constant stop/starting. hehe

And as far as the regimen, it's going well today

After work, my roommate and I went to Lowes with our puppy, Mila, and picked up some things for the sun room. We're nearly finished fixing it up!

The diet has been the usual:

Breakfast: Peanut Butter & Grape Jelly (ran out of Apple Butter) Sandwich + 1 Peach for breakfast

2 hours later: 1 Fiber Bar + 1 Cup Skim Milk

2 hours later: 1 Boost Plus Shake

2 hours later: 2 Chicken Burgers (plain - no bun/ketchup)

2 hours later: 1 Bowl of Kashi Cinnamon Harvest Cereal with Clover Honey coated on top + 1 Tbsp of Peanut Butter

About 2200 calories, and I just finished my first treadmill routine of 3.5 miles (42 minutes - 560 calories burned) along with some light strength training

Gonna break for about an hour or so, then do another 3.5 miles

edit: Even though I don't normally eat after 7pm, this new treadmill routine has me re-thinking my calorie intake. I decided to have another peach and a glass of skim milk before doing my next 3.5 I felt like I needed just a little more fuel.

Hope everyone is having a good day!

edit: Ok, exercise is complete for the day.

Final Treadmill Tally: 84 minutes, 7 miles, 1110 calories burned

AGlad your ok!! Your heart must have been racing a million beats per minute.....so is that your secret...you just scare the pounds off?? :p

Thanks tete!

Keeping the heart rate up is key, so I guess it does help  haha

But the stress levels certainly don't when it comes to how much it's going to cost me to fix it :p

Hmmm.

For breakfast today, I was feeling unusually famished. Had a rather large bowl of Kashi cereal - probably about 3 servings worth with a good amount of honey, milk, and a tbsp of peanut butter. If I had to guess, I'd say it was close to roughly 1000 calories. Each serving of the Kashi I like is 180 calories (no sodium though). Then with the milk, honey, and peanut butter. Yeah, I was really hungry, and breakfast should be the time when you have your biggest meal anyway

2 hours later, 1 Fiber Bar + 2 cups skim milk + 1 peach (about 400 cal)

2 hours later, 1 Lean Cuisine with a spoonful of low-fat cottage cheese and a few low-calorie cheese-flavored crackers (about 400 cal)

2 hours later, Boost Plus shake (360 cal)

Already did 47 minutes on the treadmill for 3.560 miles and 551 calories burned.

My left foot was bothering me a tad as I started, but now it feels better!

I'll have my last meal at 5pm, then finish up the remaining 3.5 miles at about 7pm
smile.gif

5pm, I had another bowl of Kashi cereal with some clover honey and a tbsp of peanut butter. Hmmm, I think I went a little overboard on Kashi this week. I finished off an entire box of Cinnamon Harvest in about 2 days

AOmg...that's crazy about your car door. I keep telling my mom that that's going to happen to her. I honestly don't know how her car door is still on..lol. Glad you're ok though! :) Good luck with the 3.5 miles tonight! :)

Thanks jen

Yeah, it was pretty crazy! Luckily nobody was behind me when it happened, otherwise I might've caused a fender bender due to me hitting my brakes so suddenly  Please have your mom fix her car door! I let mine go for too long. It would close with some effort, but my mechanic even told me I shouldn't worry about it falling off. Well, sheesh.

Anyway, exercise is done for the day

Final Treadmill Tally: 95 minutes, 7.231 miles, ~1140 calories

I know my time isn't very impressive, but I'm not attempting to break any records I walk/jog/run through the routine depending on which videos I watch, so the completion time is never the same from day to day.

The main thing is that I see a 7 under the mile counter before I step off
