Free's Rotation Diet Diary

Great that you were able to avoid gaining weight in NOLA. Did you count calories?

My first meal at Remoulade's, I asked the Waitress how many calories in the Taste of Louisiana and she seemed amused. New Orleans is not geared to counting calories, but I tried to keep my intake below 2400. I think most days I was right around 2K. My biggest splurge was the Blackened Louisiana Drum and Blackened Steak special at K-Paul's that came with a Salad and Desert and that scrumptious bread.

Lost a total of 32 lbs in 6 1/2 weeks. I really haven't felt deprived or terribly hungry. All those snacks help satisfy my appetite.

Lost another 1.4 lbs on 1500, exercised for about 2 hours yesterday. Keys to successful weight loss for me seems to be calorie reduction to 1200/1500 with increased exercise on the 1500 days. Even when in the 1800 rotation I can lose weight with lots of exercise. 2100 calories seems to be the weight where I maintain my weight. I am going to test that out next week. 1800 for 4 days then 2100 for 3 days.

Are you not going to do the 4th week rotation from 1800 to 2400 calories?

I tried that the 4th week of my 1st rotation and I started gaining weight after 2100 calories, so I have revised my diet for the 4th week to be 1800 calories for 4 days and 2100 for 3 days. If I splurge a bit now and then in the 4th week that ok, but I will not take a free week again until I have lost another 50 lbs. I am hoping to do that by August 14th.

That is very ambitious to try and lose 50 lbs. in 66 days. Good luck.

:hurray:

Lost .8 of a pound. Approximately 120 minutes of walking, rowing and biking. Did not swim yesterday but I will today because it looks like swimming burns more calories and it is good for toning.

Since I took a week off last week in New Orleans, I haved decided to make next week an 1800 caloried week all week except for Friday when I fly to Los Angeles.

Btw, does anyone know any good Japanese Restaurants in Burbank, the Valley or Hollywood?

Yamashiro in Hollywood Hills is nice but expensive. Kabuki is a decently price chain in LA.

My diet now is much better than in my first rotation, more balanced, less fat. I don't know why my weight loss has slowed a bit. Maybe I am putting on muscle from all the exercise. I certainly feel a lot better, more fit now.

My goal is to lose 25 lbs. per 4 week rotation. I still think that is doable. I will start a new rotation in 2 weeks and I have no vacation trips scheduled for that 4 week period so I will see how close I am to the 25 lb goal then. I did not expect to lose 25 lbs. this rotation with trips to New Orleans and Los Angeles.:driving:

Miscalculated I will be on 1200/1500 rotation when in LA so I am going to need to find some good Sushi Restaurants.

If you are limited to 1200/1500 calories in LA you are going to need to find some Sushi Bars. It would be a waste of money to go to some place like Yamashiro.
