Flumes Journal....

Of course, it's always the man's fault ;)

Did you enjoy the World Cup match? It was so much fun here as we won. :) There's a lot of hangovers in Spain today and I would guess that 1000s of people didn't turn up for work this morning.
:D!! hahaha..."Always the man's fault!"

Oohhhh...man!!! :D!! LOL!! Women! ;)!! "Can't live with us, can't live without us!"

Great on your eating by the way! That guy at the concert sounds NICE and GRATEFUL!! Gotta love people who don't let the fame get to them! :beating:! I mean, you did get there by having EACH and EVERY one of us like you didn't you!? ...yea....Good they remember that!

D - will be cucumber tomatoe salad

What's in your salad (I mean besides the cucumbers and tomatoes)? I used to shred cucumbers, chop tomatoes, put in a little onion, HEAVY whipping cream, a little vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. It was SOOO good and a great way to get ride of all the extra produce from my garden. But the cals... :( And the fat... :(

So I've been on the lookout for a replacement recipe. Is yours a healthy version of mine by chance?

Now yours sounds like a salad!

Mine is just cucumbers, tomatoes, pinch of salt and pepper and vinegar.

Sometimes I go 'wild' and use a 'California' salad dressing thats 15 cals/tbsp.

I love fresh garden veggies (garden wont be ready for another month here at least )...problem with them is when the tomoatoes and cucumbers are ripening, you gotta eat alot of tomatoes and cucumbers! I swear cucumbers grow overnight! lol This store bought stuff here is crap but its all I got right now.

My fave was caesar salad....followed by greek salad. But I just have them on occasion, (and moderation).

Have a great nite!

...I think I'll just visit yours and chill with your wife!! ;)!!!!! LOL!!!
...we'd like 2 coctails by the lake please!! Snapparoo FAST please!! :D!! LMAO!! Justttt kidding.... We'll get a camel to carry us our two drinks on his two humps!! hahah !! :D!
..truth though...I absolutely LOVE your cottage!! :beating:!!!

LOLOL...my wife doesnt chill out there either. She does get to spend alot of summer out there but she does help out alot on the gardening and grass while taking care of the kids and keeping them occupied.
(Besides....she'ld be a bad influence on ya! <hi-cup> lol)
And thanks for the cottage compliment. It really is very humble and weathered.

:D!! hahaha..."Always the man's fault!"

:svengo:Oh no....I gotta hear that from you ladies too! lol :svengo::smilielol5:

wowo Flumes, the cottage looks amazing - how lucky you are!! What a place to hang out in summer.

Glad you enjoyed Elton John - the old ones are the best. I saw Stevie Wonder in concert a few weeks back and he ROCKED! Incredible to think these guys have been performing for so long and are still magical to watch.

Thanks Jjjjay Jjjjay. In 40 yrs it'll be paid off lol

As for concerts....we go to everyone we can. And most have been very rewarding. I love music, but never had the patience or the will to learn. So, I enjoy watchin others play....even the small local stuff. Its all good.

Hope you have an ace day!

Your cottage is beautiful and even better 'cause it's right by a lake.
The concert sounds amazing. I am sooooo jealous as Elton has always been one of my favourites.
I have got tomatoes growing in my garden. Somebody gave us 30 seedlings and they turned out to be cherry tomatoes. I get to pick about 50 to 100 every morning and they still have flowers so I think we will have tomatoes most of the summer. They are the biggest tomato plants that I have ever seen and some of them are taller than the plum tree next to them. I keep a bowl of them in the fridge at all times and they are great to snack on.

I love cherry tomatoes. (The grape variety are yummy too!)

I hated tomatoes for most of my adult life..avoiding them in salads and still dislike tomato juice. But I discovered fresh thin tomato slices on a pizza are da bess!
And I cant think of a cooler salad than a tomato/cucumber and onion salad in the summer. (But watch out for the dragon breath!)

Have a super Thursday!!

You too. :D

Tomatoes are the best thing in the world. I eat them every single day without fail. <3 My favorite is campari tomatoes which are about twice the size of cherry tomatoes and really, really juicy and sweet. I'm glad you've found a way to include tomatoes in your diet and enjoy them. :)

Today was another great start. Weighed in at 202. Now this is still higher than my 200.4 but considering I'm working nites, munchin like crazy and with little sleep, I'm hopin to be out of the 200's by Sunday. Fingers, toes, arm, legs, and eyes crossed. If I could cross my ears I would too! lol.

I haven't ran in about a week and I have eluded the gym. I could have gone today but my wife isnt feelin good (bladder infection) and figured she needed a break.

So....food wise.

Last nite at work, I ended up munchin on stuff....but other than a couple of tablespoons of peanut butter, it was all on track. Salad, cucumber, and a piece of lean steak.

This morning was oatmeal
And lunch was 1/4 roasted chicken with a huge tomato and 1/2 cup cottage cheese. I dont even care about the calories...it hit the spot.
Supper will be a turkey sausage and some sweet potato and steamed cauliflower.
Snacking tonite will be inevitable but I am prepared with tuna, cucumber, and some cherries.

Also got a hair cut to help with the weigh in on Sunday :)

Well my weekend starts in 13 hours and as long as the rain stays away, it should be a great one!

Have a great day and hope you all are doin great!

I love tomatoes too. All kinds. Yum.....now I want me some tomatoes.

I am so jealous of the wonderful place you have by the lake. I miss being home, my parents have their house by the lake, so I grew up swimming and kayaking (and now will be running) around the lake.

Have an amazing weekend. Come back and tell us about it. Keeping my fingers crossed for Sunday's weigh-in. Stay dry, Flumie.

Just poppin in for a minute. I had to check Jjjay Jjjay's thread first and am just 'chuffed' it went well. (Love that word) Happy Happy for ya bud!

So before I gotta scoot...just had to report, I did a 5.6 km run/walk in 45 minutes on Friday night at camp. And I felt pretty good afterwards. Just had to share.

Didn't weight in this morning....gonna do it tommorow before I work (dayshift eyuk).
Ate pretty good but had way too many wobbly pop to even consider seeing the scale say anything lower than 200.

K...son has hockey...gotta scoot. Hugs guys...hope you're ll doin well!

Great going. Did you get the high afterwards? Who needs drugs when you can run :D

Well....I don't know if it was a high...or just delusional! lol

Our cottage is just off the highway...and up the highway there is a river crossing the highway. Well, the previous attempts at running had my sights set on reaching the river....but I couldn't make it. This time, I made it and still had energy to spare. It was like it was my 'finish line' and it truly was euphoric!

And my legs were not sore afterwards and I almost considered going for another run the next day. (But the weather was tooo nice :) )

I think I will do it again tomorrow night after work. I am jacked!

:sifone:

Hahaha!!! I know what you mean. I don't know that I'm feeling so high after I finish running. (maybe light headed from huffing and puffing and lack of oxygen to my brain?) I used to get that high from step aerobics, but I loved it once I wasn't dying any more and once I knew the routines and wasn't tripping over my feet any more. I keep waiting for the same thing to happen with running, but so far no such luck. I wan't to love running, but so far. Eh. Not so much. But I make myself do it any way right now hoping it will grow on me.

RunFlumesRun!!! Its sounds just a little bit...just a little bit like you are starting to get the running addiction!!!

Here's a site that I use to keep me motivated:

or is another alternative but with less features.

Really really useful to see how far you can push it each time. Plus, I now like to map out my route a bit further before I go and then push myself to achieve it! The satellite view is also pretty useful to align to landmarks (if like me you run round a lake!).

Will come back and post more more more on everyone's threads later on but got to run to my parents for dinner and to pick the munchkin up.

Thanks for the link Jjjay Jjjjay. I'm gonna put one of those lil electronic bracelets on ya and track ya! lol

Ya think I am gettin addicted to it huh?? lol. I like it because I am not as tired afterwards and theres a concrete start and a finish to look forward to. I also enjoy running on the highway as its like a free feelin but I'm not keen on vehicles coming from the opposite direction at 110 km/hr a few feet from me. lol

Ok...Might as well post my foodlog today seeing I had a good day. lol

Brekkie - Oatmeal ala Tony
S- tuna and a tomato
L-one small chicken stir fry wrap and 100 grams of cherries
S-one apple
D-one Hiroshima pork chop and 1/2 sweet potato and 1 corn on the cob
S- coffee black
S-almonds and some peanut butter

Working in the early am so am now goin to bed.

Have a great day kids!

I'm so proud of us all. I few months ago if anybody had told me that I would be running for fun I would have laughed at them. I think that is one of the reasons that I enjoy it so much as it is so not me. It makes it even more fun that we are all doing this together and can share experiences :) I honestly think that if it hadn't been for Jjjay that I wouldn't even have tried.

Hi Flumes, I just caught up with about 10 pages of your diary. I loved your introduction & really enjoy your humour. You are so close to getting below 200lbs. How exciting! I was in a bad mood tonight & went to Alta's diary to cheer myself up & detoured to yours. Well done on the huge changes you have made to your life. Running- WOW! Your journey is not only amazing but is inspirational & bloody entertaining. Thanks for picking me up! Cheers, Cate.
