Flumes Journal....

Hi Flumes, I just caught up with about 10 pages of your diary. I loved your introduction & really enjoy your humour. You are so close to getting below 200lbs. How exciting! I was in a bad mood tonight & went to Alta's diary to cheer myself up & detoured to yours. Well done on the huge changes you have made to your life. Running- WOW! Your journey is not only amazing but is inspirational & bloody entertaining. Thanks for picking me up! Cheers, Cate.
You can always rely on Alta and Flumsey to brighten up our days :)

I'm so proud of us all. I few months ago if anybody had told me that I would be running for fun I would have laughed at them. I think that is one of the reasons that I enjoy it so much as it is so not me. It makes it even more fun that we are all doing this together and can share experiences :) I honestly think that if it hadn't been for Jjjay that I would even have tried.

I agree Eycky. Jjjay Jjjay put the 'seed' in my head and you fellow runners 'watered' it. Thank you!

Thanks Cate! I'm inspired and motivated everytime I sign in to this site.
And thanks for the compliments. I look forward to catching up in your journal!

Oh please...what else am I going to bring to the table? All I could find was good looks and charming personality! ROFLMAO! <j/k>

But thanks....I love coming here. Its nice to see smiles and get that connection with people that are trying to lose weight like me.

Have a great day!!!

Awwwww......thanks guys! I've been out at the cottage with the fam and had the most wonderful time these past couple of days.....gotta fill ya in later (I need a nap before work). I think Jjjay would love it.

Past couple of days have been mediocre food intake but had a few drinks/beer everyday so my weight loss is on hold. If I can hover at 200ish I'll be happy.
We had company at the cottage so I wasn't able to go for a run, but I will tomorrow definitely. No excuses.

I have to add....not being able to sign on here and keep you guys abreast of my day (or enjoying your journal entries) really bums me out.
So if its any consolation, you guys are still thought of even when I'm not able to get online.

K...nappy time. TTYall later from work!

Have a great day and hope you are all doing well!

I'm so glad you had a great time at the cottage. :)

Yeah, you really get attached to the forum and the people here at the forum and sharing every experience of weight loss, health, and fitness with them. :) It's really sweet that you missed it here but I'm sure the good times you had made up for it, too.

Welcome back! :)

LOL...you guys are too funny! lol "My little fan club!" lol

Well on Tuesday evening, I drove out to the cottage shortly after my wife got there. Upon arriving, she pointed towards a sailboat that was moored in front of our camp. I didn't think anything of it....and after supper I went for a stroll with my son up to the highway. Here we met a woman and her dog, who introduced herself as being from the sailboat.
As it turns out, this young woman and her boyfriend (and their dog) are from the Yukon, and they sailed from Kingston Ontario, and were making their way around the Great Lakes and then back to Kingston. well over 1000 kms each way)
They had a little trouble with their onboard generator and I lent them tools. I also gave them the keys to the Jeep as they wanted to visit a relative who was staying at a campground up the highway. (They were flabbergasted that I insisted they take the vehicle as we hardly knew them and I immediately commented that if they didnt come back with the Jeep, I always wanted to have a nice sailboat!!! (To which we laffed and felt it was fair collateral!) We had them at the camp for 2-1/2 days, for meals and drinks by the fire, (till 3:15 am last nite!!), and they enjoyed our hospitality as much as we enjoyed their company. They took my wife, my wife's brother and sis-in-law and the kids for a ride on the sailboat and they had a blast. I left a homemade salami with them for their trip, (which they loved snacking on while at the camp) and they left us a jar of canned caribou and a bottle of tequila to remember them by! lol
It was sad to see them sail off today but I'm sure we left a buoy of memories on their charts.

I kept thinkin of Jjjay with her sailing and how interesting she would probably find this couple.

Here's a link to their blog (aroundthegreatlakes.blogspot.com). It probably won't be updated for a few weeks because internet availability is sparse where they are going but there might be some mention of their stoppover with us soon.

So...now I had to come back to work for one solely shift and then I am off for 9 days. The nice thing about working is that my diet is alot cleaner when I am working than at when I am off camp. A few drinks here and there add up.

So today it was pretty good so far,

Had 3 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon and one piece of toast for brecky (1 in the afternoon lol
Snack was a rice cake with 2 tbls of ricotta cheese (some salt and pepper)
Dinner was a can of tuna and plain lettuce salad with yogurt dressing and a few cherries for dessert.

Im sure I'll be hungry later so I brought some tomatoes and cucumber and my coworker brought some venison burgers.

And now, I am going to relax and peruse the journals of fellow losers and my buddies that motivate and inspire me to be healthy!!! Thanks

Hope you all have a great nite!

Wow Flumes what a great experience - you guys sound like fantastic hosts and your unexpected visitors sound very interesting. What an amazing journey to do...how big was their boat?

9 days off.....jeepers I'd like that!! Hope you enjoy it and get some running in!

It was 32 feet. Apparently they said it was a fast boat for its size. Very nice too.

And yes I plan on running every second day.....just for you! ;)

It's threads like this that makes me motivated! Thank you! I know I will succeed with my weight loss because of you guys. You're all great!

LOL I nearly put harem!!!!!!
Sounds like you had a great time. I'm like you. I would lend a stranger my car in them circumstances but my husband would be horrified, he's a lot less trusting.
That reminds me of something that happened to me once. My ex husband came out to visit our son years ago with his new wife. At the time I had an old beaten up car and I lent it to them for a few days at extreme inconvenience to myself so that he could show his wife the island. I found out later from my son that they didn't use the car once because she was too snobby to be seen in such an old car. I was really annoyed as I had walked to work and back twice a day in the middle of the summer heat.
Well that was a bit off topic. :)

LOL....It almost sounded like harem would fit in there too when I read it.! lol

And that was nice of you to lend your ex your vehicle. I don't think I would at least not to an ex. I would have more respect for a stranger than one of my ex gf's lol.

Her not wanting to use it was just caddy. Women are like that....I'm sure she did it just so it would get back to you. Oh well...you def came out the better person in that case....good for you.

Well..I'm off on vacation now. I don't know when I will get back online. I really do hope you all take care and look forward to touching base with you in the next couple of days.

Take care friends and good luck on your journeys! See ya in a few.

:auto::auto::auto::auto::auto:

Reading about your meeting with this couple, I began to fantasize about doing something even half as amazing as sailing that far. That's really, really living life...
