So today was iffy...lets seee

B-Oatmeal with usual stuff (and banana)450

S-cherries 150

L-6 small meatballs and baby carrots 500

S-Can of tuna Apple 250

D-1/2 large chicken breast and lettuce in a wrap 350

S-gonna try to get by without tonite but i doubt it. Looks like tuna if I do.


Gotta mow my moms yard, (house is vacant but we keep it for her as we promised not to sell incase they find a fountain of youth somewhere (shes 80 and in a home). Theres 1/2 acre of grass almost and its all with push mower.

Sounds like some exercise Flumes!! You'll burn off the extra meals over the last few days no probs. I'm pleased the running is getting easier - its really is just progressive steps from here on in!

Hi Flumes, just come over to check out your journal. I read your first post and like you I'm an oatmeal convert. I just adore the stuff now. When I first made it, it looked like the glue my mum used to give us to stick paper when we were kids but I like it more and more each time I have it to the point where it's almost an obsession. :)
I'm glad to be a member of your little running club now.

Well put! It is an obsession for me too! I have a 2 cans of steel cut oats at home in the pantry for backup, one can at work in case I forget my brekkie, and one can at camp for when I'm out there.
So far in the past three months or so that I got on this kick, I dont think I missed a day. I literally crave them from the second I pull myself out of bed! lol

Defo try steel cut if you can find them. I wont go back to rolled oats now lol.

Looks like you are doing amazing! I need to stop reading your food logs on an empty stomach though, lmao. So whats the difference between rolled oats and steel cut? I'd never head of it before....and do you guys eat hot oatmeal for breakfast even when its hot weather?

you gotta google steel cut oats and see the difference between the two. Basically the oats are cut, not rolled.
I cook 1 cup of raw oats which makes 4 cups cooked oats. Then I put the oats in the fridge and each morning I scoop out a cup or so. I place this cup of oats in the microwave to warm up a bit...not really hot but warm. Then I add milk, some blueberries and some protein powder. Mix it up and nom nom nom! (So its not hot but just warm). Hope this helps.

Week 1 Day 3 of Coach Jjjay Jjjay's Running Program. Abit winded at the end but it seemed to be easier than day 1.

I know next week will be more gruelling!

Food today
B-Oatmeal w/banana - 450
L-Salad with 1/2 chicken breast and 2 pieces imitation crab.

Didnt feel like a snack this morning cause of the run.

Gonna go work out at the gym in a bit. Havent been there in 7 days and i got time to go today so no excuses.

Keep up the great work guys and have a fantastic hump day!
 
Hope the gym goes well Flumes...and as for the running - well done, keep it up hon, I want you to do the same run again for one more time please! How fast are you running in the running bits because if they get difficult towards the end, slow it right down until you are like at a just faster than walking pace but in a jogging kind of motion...it'll get you through the time if nothing else! You end up looking like a man stuck in a desert using every last ounce of energy to stumble towards an imaginery oasis...but what the heck!!
 
Lol I was at the grocery store yesterday, and I remembered you saying something about oatmeal but I couldn't remember what! I must go back and search for these steel cut oats! I LOVE oatmeal :)

Way to go with the running too! You're doing great! :)

Well today was pretty good....

Breakfast - Guess lol
no snack - went golfing
L-wrap with letucce and hamburger patty
S-no snack....wifey had shamed me into doing 12 million odd jobs so was really busy
D-cooked wifey dinner to get on her good side :) Grilled chicken breast, mixed salad and 1/2 cup brown rice
S-tuna and cottage cheese and handful of grapes.

Going to run tomorrow....even if its raining.

Looks like my weigh in tomorrow wont be so chit hot. Be lucky if I'm 203. But thats ok.....gettin some definition on my shoulders, glutes and hammies and my pecs got some firmness under there. :)

Flumes, I haven't written here, but I have been reading your journal!! Good job on the running. I need to get back on it too- was running like mad (lol) until few weeks ago and my travel schedule screwed me over. I have been trying to get up early for runs but I just cant seem to be able to- something is blocking my brain- just need a kick in the butt, really.

I love reading your foodlog, btw. You are a tuna munching machine, aren't you? :)

Well today was fubared.

Crappy nite sleep....woke up every hour...and I gotta work nites tonite so I'll be beat.

Then I got out of bed sooo sore from working out the other day and jumped on the scale. 204.5! EYUCK I was at 202.6. Not a good sign.
Either my weekend adventures last weekend caught up with me or my muscle soreness has retained some water (which I just thought back and noticed I havent been drinking that much of it)

Then, I find I am out of my prepared oatmeal in the fridge. Fuck...I had a major craving for it too...so now its on the stove cooking away (25 minutes).

Yeah..I know...'small potatoes'...but I was looking forward to having a great day. Now I got to work for it lol.

Hope you all got a better start than me!

Sometimes it's the little things that matter most (like oatmeal in the fridge). I hope the day got better for you. Good job on the exercise! Nice to see you're getting some golf in.

Working nite shift this weekend (fri-sat-sun) so my day ends now (630 am)

Food yesterday was not the best but ok.

B-Oatmeal
L-Salad (major screw up...thought I could last till supper on some grass... not.
S-2 sausage patties and some calabrese mixed veggies (damn hot)
S-Tuna and cucumber
D-stir fry leftovers....no rice...just chicken and veggies
S-fruit grapes and strawberries.
S-sunflower seeds in shell....3/4 cup

Too tired to count calories but I think I was ok. I was hungry all day yesterday. weird. Had a lot of cravings..ie KFC and fast food. But I held out.

Going to go to the gym today and I gotta get my run in or Jjjay is gonna scalp me. Damn legs were too sore to run yesterday. And I felt really tired ...hopefully not coming down with somethin.

Wish I had something great to report but I'm too tired to even think straight.
