Flumes Journal....

Howdy kids!

Thanks so much for keeping up with my journal and all the compliments.
It is sooo nice to hear!

Well yesterday was a great day as far as eating went.
When I got home from work...wife made roast beef with potatoes and carrots. I had a a small portion of everything...(I used to eat half the roast myself...yeah..really really)

Then I went to the cottage and wrestled with three more concrete curbs. It was a nice cool evening and I was hoping for a t-storm but no luck. (They are beautiful on the lake).

I was soaked from sweating and had a super hot sauna to relax. (I also had about 4 ozs of rum....which I shouldnt have but hey...its camp!
I had a wrap with tuna and fresh spinach and watched a movie (The Timekeeper - I should have watched the grass grow) and went to bed exhausted (and wobbly).

Woke up early this morning and fixed a few things in the camp.
Food today...
B-Oatmeal w frozen blueberries and raspberries and 1/2 scoop whey powder
L-Turkey sausage and fresh spinach in a spinach wrap (Did you know mayo has 100 cals per tblsp! I almost puked. So I put too pickle slices it it for some zest instead!)
Had to come come home to pick up kids from school, but still had enough time to go to the gym for my heavy day workout. Legs are pooched again...but I feel much better than last weeks heavy day workout.
S-half an energy bar
D-who knows....salad and something meaty. I'm gettin hungry.
editted- cucumber/tomatoe/onion salad with some fake crab meat. Also had 6 mini meatballs
S-At least 1 artichoke. Just finished cooking four of them and the smell is driving me crazy! So my no.2 son and I are going to watch some tv and enjoy a couple.

So thats it for today. 200 is within reach...I can almost feel it! And then I'll be in ONDERLAND!!!!!! First time in over 10 yrs! (But much more fit and healthy!)

Have a great nite and take care!

Ick, I had the same reaction to mayo when I realized basically its whipped fat. I just stick with mustard now. Good luck on onderland, your catching up to me...I"m going to have to get my arse in gear to stay ahead.

No worries for me this week. I already had my good news. I'm more than happy. I'll have to keep control this weekend....probabably go to camp with the family and there will be beer, wine and lotsa food. If I can keep it in moderation and pig out on healthy food, I'll be happy happy.
Until then, it'll be same-o same-o. Hopefully 203 by Friday :) but I doubt it.

Take care!

Hey Flumes, sounds like thigns are looking good! Fingers crossed for Onederland soon!

mmm artichokes - these are my favourite vegetables, apart from aubergine...and asparagus comes a close 3rd...

Hey, thanks for repping me! :)

Sounds like you're doing awesome! It's really nice to hear from someone who actually has a lot of responsibilities, like kids and a job, and still manages to make time for eating well and working out!

Can't wait to hear from you getting into the 100s!! I'm trying to get into the 50-something kg category myself- not quite as big an accomplishment, but it'll be very nice nonetheless!

You'll be in the land of all things one very soon Flumey! Have a good tuesday xx

Thanks sunshine! <intended nick-no mistake!> :) Its a great Tuesday so far...as long as the rain stays away.

Hey great keep it up..you having nice thread...

You're welcome Hana! As for responsibilities, I do have a wife who does alot more than I do most days, but she only works afternoons on her job....so she takes care of the kids in the morning, and I take care of them in the evening. So far so good. We just dont see eachother very often during the week.
And you are doing great yourself! Who you kidding....when you get to your goal and I get to mine, our accomplishments will be exactly the same! Good luck!

My 7yr old will eat 3hree of them if we let him. He loves artichokes...eats them like a pro. I never had Aubergine...gotta look it up. I also love asparagus...but I find the smell of my urine after horrendous. I understand its normal but my gawd.
And thanks for the well wishes. I'll be joining you in onderland soon...so watch your back baby!

Ok...Today was good. Normal oatmeal brekkie...but I cut back to 3/4 cup instead of 1 cup. not good....starving alot sooner.
Lunch was a fat free sliced turkey wrap with fresh spinach. Few grapes
Snack - wife made fast fry porkchops and the house smelled like heaven...so I had one and a few more grapes. (I could have eaten 6 of them...she fries them up really well and shes a saltoholic so they are really salty and almost crispy. Yummy!) lol

Dug up my wifes new garden and put 6x6 wooden border all around. I'm sweatin soo much the deer are following me.

Now gotta pick up kids at school and take them and their friends for some r&r at the cottage. Let them burn some energy while I get to relax!

Have a great nite kids and will catch up later this evening. Take care and keep up the great work!

You do so great... how do you find the energy!? Lol, I forced myself to do the laundry today.... even though I REALLY don't want to, ugh I feel like such a bump on a log! Anyways, I hope you know you are doing amazing! Keep it up.

ah aubergine is eggplant!! Does that make more sense?!? I extolled the virtues of aubergines as MY FAVOURITE ALLTIME VEGETABLE to Mr X and he came back off holiday saying "whenever I ate an aubergine I thought of you!" hahahah I am started a purple vegetable revolution! VIVA LA AUBERGINE! Seriously though, roasted, they ROCK. You are missing out!!

I am slightly concerned that you smell your urine. I personally have never done so, so am unable to add any experience to THAT conversation!

Fast fry pork chops sound exotic and heavenly. Can you please tell your wife to cook, seal in tupperware and fedex to UK c/o JJJay for sampling. Immediately.

I used to laze around most of the day doing bare minimum to keep the wife happy. Seriously....I spent more time on my ass than on my feet.
Ever since I started eating healthier, I have energy to burn....its weird.
I actually want to go work out....do something physical. I hope it lasts cause it feels good.
Thanks for the compliment....I feel alive!!!!!

oh jeeze! I love eggplant! lol I never knew it by any other name. I only have it if I think to buy it and then bbq it. (Then I usually eat the whole thing lol...then suckers can get pretty big!!!)
My parents (Italians) ate it alot in a stew with other veggies. It was really good!

Ok...so you are one of the fortunate that arent affected by asparagus. Please google it and tell me you are abnormal and I am normal! lol Sorry for the embarrasment.

As for my wifes pork chops..I'm sure they wouldnt clear customs...the hungry SOB's would be sure to smell em before the canine unit get a chance at em. My jowls are watering just thinking about them....gotta think of something else sorry :)

Dinner tonite was a large mixed green salad with 1 turkey sausage diced up and one boiled egg. Delicious.

Snack will be something salty thanks to Jjjays reference to me wifes porkchops! :drool5:

Have a great nite....kids are in bed and its me time for the next 45 minutes till my playmate gets home ;)

G'nite :)

Thanks Size! I appreciate the post.

Well today was tooo friggin early. Four hours sleep and I had about 25 people to look after...(big shutdown.) I was beat and thought of nothing better than to go home and crash.

But at one point, I think I got overtired and looked forward to getting off and maybe going for a run or the gym or to the driving range and hit some balls to the moon.
Well...I made it to the driving range and hit a quite a few doozies. I then went to the shooting club, knowing full well that I would be tempted by what they were having for supper....Lasagna, sausages and salad. I did well and had half a pork sausage and a bottle of water. I was too saladed out from the previous days and didnt feel like anymore.

I then picked up the kids at their friends house and declined their mom's invitation in for a coffee....shes a really good baker and I knew she would have had a plate of temptation out for me if I said yes.

So I got the kids in bed and here I type....but I am munching on a half a sweet potatoe and a 1/2 sausage. Really hungry for some reason...Too much salad I think today.

Soooo.....foodwise...

B-Oatmeal, blueberries, protein powder and milk 400
S-salad and very depressed I forgot my tuna...really pissed at myself.
So I had a leftover pork sausage patty which was about 2-3 oz. (cooked on the bbq) 200
L-Salad with 1/2 egg 150
S-handfull of shell on sunflower seeds and some grapes 300
D-tuna with cottage cheese and spring mix lettuce in a wrap 350
S-1/2 med sweet potatoe and 1/2 turkey sausage 300

So approx 1700 cals and I estimated high. Too much sausage tho..but I had to clear out leftovers and rummaging thru the fridge at 445 am getting a lunch together didnt help. Overall, I think that was ok...and my belly is happy.
Tomorrow is chicken, tuna and a couple of apples. I really have a craving for pasta, so I am going to bring some whole wheat stuff to work and have it for lunch with the chicken. My problem is I am Italian, and we dont measure pasta by the gram...its by the package! lol. I hope I have control!

Have a great nite guys and gals. I really appreciate the power of people that has helped me lose some weight. Thanks!!!:hurray:

Lol, we have a driving range here and I hit the ball like a foot, I am awful at golfing. But, I like the punching bag, gets my anger out and I can imagine faces on it while I beat the crap out of it :D

hey Flume, it might be worth spending a bit of time looking at weights v calories for different types of pasta (wholewheat etc...) and getting know what portions look like v their calories - that way if you do have a craving, you can KNOW that you are only having say 300 cals or 200 cals of pasta alongside your daily 1/2 a sausage intake ;)

Doing good though!! Just think back to what you would eat beforehand without even given it a second thought, and then you'll see how far you;ve come

let me know how that whole wheat pasta is. ive been thinking of buying some.

Its good....I had it before. I mean its different....but very good.
Do I prefer it to regular pasta.....not yet. But I figure if I can eat WW pasta as often as I eat regular pasta and vice versa...I'll be very happy!
And so far so good.
(I'm Italian so growing up pasta was once a day...either lunch or dinner. I may have had pasta (either type) once in the past-a month-a (lol).

So yeah...go for it. Wise choice!

I hear ya Jjjay Jjjay. But Just like some people cant control ice cream, or cookies, or beer....mine is pasta. I need to stay away from it as much as possible until I am sure I am in control. But you are right...and will heed your advice Kehmosabee!

Yeah...before hand was eat til there was none left! lol Just like war...We take no leftovers!

Have a great day!
