Flumes Journal....

oh yep! I'm still lurking...and checking that you're doing your runs!!!

GET TO IT BOY!

Jjjjay-I coudnt do it today. I was sooo tired, it took all I had to go to the gym. (Not much sleep....workin nites) Then I went golfing 9 holes, (no cart) so I got some movement in...but my legs are really sore from squats.
Will try harder today.....really really.

Foodwise...lets see.

B-Oatmeal -450
S-Protein shake -140
L-Chicken and spinach salad -500 (too much chicken)
S-cucumber and 1 piece of pizza (damn coworkers bought lunch and had leftovers) -300
S-grapes -100
D-3 eggs scrambled and salad -400
S-apple -100

2000 calories

(Hey..I estimated and then entered everything in fitday and I was bang on with the calorie estimate :)

Good news....My scale apparently can measure bodyfat. When I first started, I was at 29%...Yesterday, I was 22%. Now I know not to trust the accuracy of this feature but it certainly made me feel better (after it told me I gained two fucking pounds!)

<venting>
Why?? Why?? Why is it when I had at least twice the calorie intake and the activity level of a pet rock, my weight gain was minimal (weight hovered between 225 to 230 steady).
Now I eat at least half of what I used to and move at least 10 times as much and I gain weight??? WTF?!?!?!?
I was hoping for 200 by July first. Chances of that happening are gone.
<vent over>

Anyways...I have been sooo tired these these past few days. Like something sucked the energy right out of me. I hope it passes.

Have a good one guys!

I don't know if this is the same for you but I also work nights and I never weigh myself when I get home or even if I come home and sleep. For some reason I ALWAYS way more so the only days I weigh myself are the mornings I didn't work and slept all night regularly. And even then I weighed 4lbs more Friday than Saturday, so yea....stupid fickle scale.

Well....ya'll are going to think I'm crazy. Flumes bumped his head (again).
But heres what happened.

My weight this past week went as high as 207. This was after a low a week ago of 202.6.

I ate pretty much the same and did pretty much the same routine. So I was really upset....something was wrong and I was starting to get worried.

So heres what I did. Two days ago I was sooo pissed off , I started eating more just to really make the scale start to climb. (I just didnt log it on here) Mind you it was healthy food...but check this out.
On Saturday, I ate what I listed plus 1/2 chicken. (No skin) Yup <burp>
On Sunday, I ate pretty much the same as Saturday, plus the other half of the chicken and another bonelss skinless chicken breast. (Huge one) <double burp>
Before I went to bed this morning, (working nites) I ate tuna and cottage cheese!. <yawn>

Five hours later I weight myself and I'm 202! 202!!!

Now I'm not saying anything or telling anybody to do anything....but unless my scale is totally screwed up, (100 dollar digital Taylor with fat and water measurement), I think I found my problem. btw...the kids weigh themselves whenever I do and their weight seldom fluctuates more than a pound.

Other than eating more, the other difference was that I drank water....approx 4 liters a day compared to the 1 liter or so I drank the days prior.

I have a feeling I was retaining alot of water causing my weight to increase...and the reason why I was hungry was I wasn't eating enough.

So this week...I'm going to experiment again....bumping up my calories by 300-400 more and drinking 4 litres aqua per day.

Again...Im just stating what I believe happened and am not professing anything to anybody (my disclaimer)....so please nobody start shouting "Grab yer torches and yer pitchforks...OGRE!"

Have a great day Monday kids...my weekend is just starting:)

Wow! Very interesting....6lbs difference is quite a lot. Damn!!! Who knew water made so much difference (i mean we all know in theory, but very few of us have actually seen this first hand). Good job on figuring this out. And woooooohooooo on going back to 202lbs. What a great start to the week.

Have a fantastic Monday. Sleepytime here. Off to zzz

Bet you're right--sounds like water retention! I need to start drinking more water..Must make it a habit! Hope you're okay :) I had turkey dinosaurs the other day and thought of you! :p xx

:party::party::party::party::party:

Yaaaahoooooooooooooooooooooooo! You weight losing machine you!! Congratulations, Flumie....:) :)

Had a great food day today...and I bet if I weigh myself now, I'll be 180! I am sooo high with my last few days progress that I am floating! (fyi...not literally high...quit drugs 16 or so yrs ago lol)

Anyways...I painted the bottom of the house today and it looks fab....gotta take a picture to brag lol (its still a shack but its looks nice at least)
Then I went out and bought the kids fireworks for our :eh: Canada Day :eh: on Thursday nite.
(about 300 dollars worth...should put a smile on their faces (and mine)...my wife?...thats another story lol) Oh well...its better to seek forgiveness than ask for permission sometimes lol) :)

I also drank alot of water and ate great....
B-oatmeal with PP and blueberries as usual
S-none (still full and busy paintin)
L-tuna and cottage cheese (it was large curd regular....on sale...fuk it..I could use the extra cals lol)
S-none
D-grilled chicken breast (kids and their friends had ordere dpizza and I didnt have 1 piece!!!!! A first for me!!)
Went to the gym after supper...a first for me...and it was less busy than I expected. Very comfy. Worked out like a trooper!
S-another small chicken breast in a wrap with salad.
S-20 almonds with a tbsp of peanut butter to dip them in nom nom nom!

So thats about 1650 calories by my count.

And I'm now going to enjoy a double rum....life is good :)

Have a fantastic day kids. :waving:

w0000h000000000000 Flumes!¬!

200 is GREAT! So proud of you for keeping on going and working so hard.

*hugs*

Thanks guys! I feel sooo happy!

This morning 201.2...guess the scale gonna give me balls now and jerk me around before I hit onderland....but I can wait.

Got very little sleep last nite and worked days today. Amazingly, I was wide awake at work but just a little overwhelmed...(powerplants do that to you sometimes).
Got home to a nice supper by my hun and started feeling ill. I think she used a dash too much arsenic. lol
Anyways, I went to bed at 8:00 pm and crashed.
Unfortunately, with all the water I've been drinkin, I had to get up at 1100 pm and now I cant sleep. Grrrr I h
ate when that happens.

Also got good news that my BIL who was diagnosed with leukemia is finally (6 months trying) getting the necessary chemo chemical and is showing good improvement! Hope!! Yesssss! (Hes a really nice guy...my sis was lucky to find him).
Ok...enugh blabberin...

Legs were pooched again today...and unfortunately I think running is not in my near forecast. It takes too long for me to recover and then I miss out on the gym and running so I'm putting it on hold. (Sorry Jjjay....I just cant do it right now) I hate failure :(

Food today...
B-Oatmeal ala Tony
S-tuna and lettuce no dressing nothing else
L-1/2 cucumber and veggie/pork stir fry leftover
S-broccoli and 1/2 sweet potatoe
D-small rib steak and 1/4 sweet potatoe and some mixed string beans
S-20 almonds and scoop peanut butter.

Total 2200 best estimate

Now I got a wicked headache....so I'm gonna try to get my arse back to bed.

Night all

:eh: Happy Canada Day! :eh:

Sorry to hear this Flumes. I've been wondering if I'll be able to keep this up or not as well. I had lots of knee problems when I was younger and I keep wondering if it's going to rear it's head in some form or another now that I'm older. I have to admit though, that this week it's finally getting easier to run and I can actually walk the next day without wimpering in pain.

If you ever decide to make another go of it in the future, we'll be here to cheer you on! Until then enjoy the gym and the hard muscled body you're makin' for yourself!
