AFor your ankle - if you have a bathtub or a big plastic bin (like a rubbermaid or one of the plastic drawers from those plastic sets that you'd keep arts and crafts stuff or underwear in), go out and buy two big bags of ice from the grocery store, fill the bin up with cold water, add some of the ice, and soak your leg up to where it aches. Spell the alphabet a few times with your toes, spell everyone in your family's name in cursive, do circles, stretch back and forth, etc. Then TAKE SOME MOTRIN. Then go for a walk, get your body warm and your blood flowing, and then do all of the same things you did in the cold water, except just out in the plain air. Stretch stretch stretch! Seriously, just one or two motrin works wonders. Also, drink lots of water and rest! Do some swimming or walk, low-impact stuff. Lunges are good too.
I'm not in school but I update from my work, and I find that when I have done an hour or two of consistent work, that I give myself a 15 minute break on this website (hey, my coworkers take coffee breaks, I get a motivation break!) Keeps my mind fresh and motivated!
