Fit by 60! - TomO's Pledge

Curves you crack me up!! I know I'm getting all confused. I hear watch your calories, then I hear eat more, then I hear do X amount of cardio a week, then I hear make sure your lifting weights. OH MY GOSH!!! Can I really do it all??? I do cardio, I do weights, I eat good, Heck, I'm just going to get liposuction once a month like the stars do and call it a damn day!! HAHAHAHAH I'm a coward when it comes to having surgery on myself, so I wouldn't do that even if I had the money. DAMN, DAMN, what's next??? maybe I could inherit some money and get a celebrity chef to come stay at my home and cook for me, then I would get all the calories and balanced meals I need and I wouldn't have to think about it. Hey, now there is an idea, now hmmmmm how to come into some money and fast..........

HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!

Mmmmmmh, Celebrity chefs!! Yes oh yes I would LOVE that!! If I had a live-in chef I'd be all thin and people would be like, "OH how do you stay so thin?" And I'd say, "All because of my expensive-ass Celebrity Chef." I want YAN CAN COOK!!!!

"LOCAL FAST FOOD," Kim are you kidding?? I HATE that shit, if anything I'd go to New Leaf Market and gets me a tofu sandwich! My friend is a guy, and he was at the Monterey Poetry slam last night. Said he'd get here by noon. Wah.

Hi Tom, just trying to catch up on you :). Hope you're doing great.

Princess Baby and I love to eat dont we :D!? I agree, eat Kim and I believe that metabolism will rev up. You could also try the zig zagging approach: have 3 low days at around 1400, 2 days around 1800, and 2 days at 2000. That might possibly work .

Oh I know Curves you would never do fast food, that was a total joke girlfriend, ummmmm reading from the temptations and hungry growl of your belly, I was afraid you were going to eat the couch if your friend didn't show up!! LOL Okay, maybe the fish from the tank would have been more the idea. LOL LOL

Oh no, you know my altar ego!!! Hardy har! That is an excellent idea, C!! Kim you should take her advice!

Ha ha ha ha!! My buddy showed up just in time to take me around. Princess Baby got carted around by the Cabana Boy!! :rotflmao:

Tom: Where are you!!!!

*Princess Baby turns around and Tom runs into her with his crazy looking bike*

Ok, I see you girls have been keeping the seats warm while I was on my bike ride. Val, I sure hope you got something to eat! Kim and Blancita, I'm keeping the Scale Gods occupied today, so this is your chance!

Today was my last long ride before the big one on Sunday. I went 34 miles in 2 hours and 10 minutes -- a little bit better than my usual pace, averaging a not so shabby (for me, anyway) 15.6 m.p.h. The weather was beautiful. I went from my house to the Oceanside Pier and back. I find I'm starting to get some real power in my legs, which really helps up those hills.

So this ride was good for 1,356 calories, giving me a nice deficit for the day.

Blancita, I'm doing my Weights 3 routine (upper body) tomorrow, but otherwise pretty much staying off the bike until Sunday.

Good idea Tom. As you know it really helps your performance and makes it soo much easier after you've had a couple of rest days. You must be excited for the race!

LOL, it's no race -- I'll be out there alone, competing with myself. Marlene will bring me lunch at the 70 mile mark. But, yes, I am excited to see if I can do this.

So the century is not this weekend? You're still training for it? And I guess I meant "ride" not "race" because I think the point is more can you finish 100 miles, not how fast can you do 100 miles. Shoot, if you can do that then who cares how long or short it took.

Weight: 224.2 - OK, maybe this is where Round 7 is actually going to start. I really can't tell. This month so far is so different from the preceding months, I don't have the faintest idea what's going on. For some people, dropping 5 or 6 pounds in a month is routine; for me, it's practically a miracle.

The stats for yesterday:

Food: 2,895 calories
Fat: 81 gm, 25%; 17 gm saturated
Carbs: 387 gm, 50%; 56 gm fiber
Protein: 162 gm, 22%
Alcohol: 10 gm, 2%

NARM: 2,293 c
Exercise: 1,356 c
Deficit for the Day: 754 c
Deficit of July: 10,500 c

Now there's an interesting figure -- my deficit of July is exactly equivalent to 3 lbs. loss, yet my actual loss so far this month is 5 pounds. I wonder if I'm being too conservative on the calories I expend in biking. I've been using a figure of 40 calories per mile; if this discrepancy keeps up, I'll probably boost that to 50 calories per mile.
==============================
Blancita & Mechelle - I'm going to be doing the Century this Sunday. Tomorrow, Marlene and I will drive over most of the route to check it out. And hopefully, I'll have some pics on Monday.

Oh Tom, I'm so excited for you!! This ride sounds like a blast! And how gorgeous you ride to the pier and near water and hills, AHHHHHH I can see this beautiful view already!! You said the scale gods are keeping you occupied, however I see your sitting at 224 today, that's back down from the 225. So I think they really, really like you Tom!! Which is good, you've earned their respect that's for sure! I can't wait to hear all about your ride on Monday, are you going to take some pictures?????

LOL, like I said, the Scale Gods this month have been real pussies, at least for me. Shhhh. . . don't tell them I said that! Good thing they can't read!

And yes, I hope to take lots of pics -- I'll have my good camera with me, even though it'll add 2 lbs. to my load.

Careful, Tom--what if you're losing muscle?!?! Nah probably not, nevermind! Yes I got stuff to eat!

LOL, amazingly enough :)rolleyes:), I keep track of that too:

Actually, though, you're right -- I do have to be careful about that, because if I keep running these huge deficits, I definitely will lose some lean mass. Next week, I plan to start moderating my rides a bit.

Yeah, that's kinda what I was looking at and wondering about the other day, with your accumuated deficit...is it possible that instead of your estimated expenditure being too far off - the change in your routine by adding the bike has finally boosted your metabolism just a bit? so maybe you're requiring less of a deficit to lose? I guess you'll know for sure when you take your next break....the change since you starting biking is really interesting...and obviously paying off for you in many ways.
