Fit by 60! - TomO's Pledge

Kickoff of the new workout is just around the corner! :jump:

Glad to see the weight settled a bit. Not so much for physiological reasons.... but psychological.

Almost brought tears to my eyes!

Thanks, Val. I may even go Friday morning instead of the afternoon, when I usually go. :)

Glad to see you are in a better mood tom :)

And I think its a wise idea not to count calories for a little bit...I don't mean to be rude, but it sounded like you were a little too obessive before ;)

Thanks, Adam. I don't think it was the counting calories that did it; it was gaining 4 pounds in 4 days that pushed me over the edge. But like you say, I'm in a better mood now. :)

Great to see the community

I stumbled in here off the street.
What do you know. Just what I'm looking for.
A supportive community committed to long term success.
It has been very encouraging just reading up on the journeys.

Thanks:jump:

Glad to see you here! We have some great people at WLF. Spend some time in the journals and wander around a bit, and make yourself at home!

Good morning Tom! I am so glad you are feeling better! Tomorrow is your big day....new routine! :) I hope you are having a terrific Thursday!

Hi, Beth. Thanks, I am feeling better, even though I'm up to 235.4 again today. Last night we went to El Torito and I had lobster quesadillas, along with too many chips, and a mararita. Oh well, I'll burn it off again in the next few weeks, but it doesn't look like I'll get below 230 for my birthday, which is a bummer.

Tom, did you have salt on that margarita?? I LOVE MEXICAN FOOD, it's one of my favorites, then Italian, and then Japanese. Mexican food is really easy for me to remain in my calories as I'm a grilled chicken and veggie person, so I always get that, and If you dip your chips in salsa and no cheese sauce you can save a lot that way too. I know you already know about all that, but reading about food gets my mind going. LOL Enjoy your day

Kim, I totally didn't worry about anything last night. Salt on the margarita, chips, salsa, cheese in the quesadillas, ate till I was stuffed -- in other words, a totally sinful night. I figure you gotta have one of those every two or three months, just to get it back in your mind how gross it would be to eat like that all the time.

OK, I'm ready for my punishment. Be easy on me!

Oh that sounds so good, Tom. Again, I have to reiterate that the weight gain is temporary (water). It just happened to me...I was up three pounds in one day but after being really careful and drinking all of my water, my weight was back down by evening...but it sure made me mad! Just seeing that number does something to your head!

The chips and salsa suck me in every time when we go to a mexican restaurant. And of course, the margaritas are so good with it. :)

I don't think its a big deal....ya splurge here and there and get back on the program. I try to plan for those splurges, but sometimes they sneak up on you.

I had hoped to be about 10 pounds lighter by now...but for whatever reason, the weight is coming off much slower. We just have to adjust our mindset and not let it discourage us or affect our momentum!

Tom you are 100% correct, EVERYONE needs a few good splurge days, come on, we may as well enjoy life while we are here right? Life is to short to be good every minute and every second of everyday, I can go for that! Enjoy the rest of your day today!:jump:
Kim

Tom,
If I were in your position, and taking a week off exercise, I would be cooking for myself and not eating out--not to sound critical, it just sounds like you're eating out a lot and you know how that can be--there may be extra oil or butter you may be unaware of that could be adding a bunch of calories. Then again I had cake and champagne for dinner last night! HA HA HA! I feel so French :drooling:

I dont think too strict of a diet can be kept up for long. Thin people eat out all the time, they just balance that with days where they dont eat as much. Zigzagging and all that. Dont feel bad but time to get back on track.
