First of May – My New Way

Nice job fighting "the urge", you beat "The Blerch"!

I always forget to fight The Blerch when I should be fighting him the hardest, but he's there, and he wants you to be lazy and gluttonous!

Today the Blerch stayed in bed i think. We managed to get a huge load of work done in my group and avoid any tension - and I haven't spent one minute thinking of candy or wanting to eat anything.
Got 4-5 hours of sleep last night so am really tired now even it's just 7pm I am ready for bed...

Tenth day of super eating, I might join the Christmas challenge if my scale arrives this week. I am up for 12+ weeks of clean (completely allergy free) eating anyway.

Will make every second Friday Happy Friday where I can eat what ever I want after-work as long as it is still clean foods to me. Planning on chocolate tofu icecream :biggrinjester:

And today's eating
Morning: blueberry soy yoghurt with chia seeds and pumpkin seeds, soy latte 400.
Snack: hazels 120.
Lunch: chickpea salad 300.
Snack: banana 100.
Dinner: homemade hamburger 400, carrot sticks 70.
Total: 1390

I'm very happy to be quoted Clarissa!

Not seeking comfort is different from not enjoying. Enjoy your Friday treat!

When I lived in Seattle I could buy these:

Yummy and not bad in calories for a treat.

Are they also gluten free?
We have a very poor selection of allergy friendly foods here, but they have started selling GF and vegan cones at the ice cream truck now. Haven't tried 'em yet.

Morning: blueberry soy yoghurt with chia seeds, pumpkin seeds and a soy latte 400.
Snack:
Lunch: LCHF muffin, 1 apple, 2 carrots and half a banana 350.
Snack: mango 120, soy latte 25, wholegrain crackers with mackerel and mayo 200.
Dinner: rice noodles with bacon, onion and peas 410.
Total: 1505.

So today is Happy Friday - this morning I had no idea of what to eat since candy is off limits and there is just no foods I fancy/miss ...anyway bought a Pound of chocolate tofu ice cream and will have it as dessert later on. Ate my regular breakfast and a LCHF muffin and half a banana as lunch.

Just ate 3 wholegrain crackers with chicken and mayo, nice. Ate some salty potato chips and they disappointed me. Ate some vegan gluten free marshmallow'ish thing that also disappointed me ha-ha.

I'll have pork chops and Salad for dinner later on, planned on buying french fries to go with that, but the chips have made me queasy so I'll probably boil some rice in stead.

Got the new scale home ....terrible. Weighed the girl at the old and on the new, it added 700 grams to her 22 kg and it added around 4 kg to my weight. Don't know what to do... Swallow the fact that I weigh more and need to Loose more. Otherwise the new scale is great, it comes up with a number right away.

Don't let the scale difference bother you - better to find out now than at the doctor's office. Besides, it's just a data point, nothing more. If you're feeling better about yourself, then you're doing it right!

You are right, whatever I weigh I still lost 5-6 lbs in 11 days and I will continue to follow my weight loss plan.
Feel like crap, put the pork chops in the freezer and ordered pizza for the kids and a serving of fries for me, ate 40% of them with 2 tablespoons of mayo and 2 gehrkins. Yuk I'm not sure I can eat the tofu ice cream, it's 7 pm and I just want to go to bed. This is crazy.
Back to new normal tomorrow and looking forward to it!

They had gluten. We didn't worry about that then. I don't have gluten issues but I eat mostly gluten free because my wife found some research suggesting it might be a factor in her endometriosis. Plus it keeps me from eating as much processed food.

No worries with the new scale. It only changes your endpoint. You've still lost as much weight and you'll be past the old number soon enough.

Morning: plain soy yoghurt with chia seeds, mango and almonds, soy latte 400.
Snack:
Lunch: wholegrain crackers with egg, cucumber and paté, soy latte 410.
Snack: fruit salad 180.
Dinner: chicken curry and salad 550.
Total: 1540.
very good day, normally I would have difficulty having a diet day off and it would turn into several days of eating. Haven't been a problem today. Ate most of the tofu ice cream and kids ate the rest, threw away the chips and fries . Back at 1600 cals a day the next 13 days! Won't join the christmas challenge, feels like I have gained and again have to relose because of the weightdifferences with the scales. I'll play it safe things go great right now, no nothing about risking demotivation.

According to the old scale, I’ve lost 6 lbs in 13 days. Did one last weighing and threw it out afterwards. Weighed in on a third scale yesterday and it told me this new scale is the accurate one.
Sooo.. still did 14 days now with 13 days of < 1600 cals a day + one Happy Friday and the next 14 days are coming up tomorrow. Sticking to my plan and will stop the “gain” from hunting my thoughts by focusing on life change and diet rather than how many lbs I am down/up.
We went for a nice walk today, an hour, probably did about 2 km and some slopes and sand before we got to the playground. We all enjoyed it and talked about making it a new habit on Sundays. A couple of pics, it is autumn and 10 C (50 F) now.

Morning: plain soy yoghurt with chia seeds, almonds and mango, soy latte 400.
Snack: soy latte 25.
Lunch: pork chop with boiled potatoes, cole slaw and chili salsa 550.
Snack: pineapple smoothie 120.
Dinner: potato salad, garden salad and wholegrain crackers 400.
Afters: soy latte 25.
Total: 1520.

six days of this week gives an average of 1483 cals a day and the 7th was Happy Friday, not being accounted for. Another successful week down. :D

Thanks guys!
Put on some pants today that I haven't bothered trying on since early summer, they fit fine again. Nice feeling.
Today we went to the park again and did same walk as Sunday.
Bought some nutritional yeast today, never tried it before, have been told it is the vegan's cheese flavour. Thinking about making a pizza with it, haven't bothered making pizza in 7+ years because of no cheese option.

Clothes fitting always beat the scale!

Morning: plain soy yoghurt with almonds, raisins and cinnamon, soy latte 425.
Snack: sugar free stewed strawberries 140.
Lunch: cod roe with pickles and lemon 140.
Snack: soy latte 20.
Dinner: lentil soup with potatoes, beetroots and buckwheat 620.
Afters: apple 40, peanuts 70.
Total: 1455.

Awesome job on the clothes! Real world progress is great!

I love nutritional yeast. We call it nutch (pronounced nooch) which is a pretty common nickname. I've also heard it called Hippy Dust lol. I just ordered a 5 pound bag if that tells you anything. It isn't cheese, but it is delicious. I dump it on everything. If it's the fortified type (most are) then it has nutrients that vegans are likely to be lacking. It's almost pure protein and it tastes really good. You can add a little water to make a paste of it or just sprinkle it on anything that is moist enough to make it stick so you aren't eating dry powder. I put it on my roasted veggies and tofu, sandwiches, soup, chili, and pretty much everything but sweets.

Let me know what you think. I would try it just sprinkled on something you already eat before you make a whole pizza, but I think you'll like both.

I hope and plan to make pizza this weekend. We will see, my exam paper is due Thursday, We are having the girl's birthday Friday and she is going to anoher girl's birthday Saturday..
Tasted a flake yesterday and drizzled a little on my lentil Soup, I liked it. It is organic and 100% inactive yeast. It came in a 6 oz box.

Today we went to a lake and walked around it (5 km biking, 1 km walking, very hilly). Took the cam with me, it's a nice litte extra push to make me get out there, taking a few pics. The kids are getting tired and need a rest day tomorrow, me on the other hand felt like I was flying up those slopes eager to do cardio Again.
