First Diary, New Effort......

I was looking through some pictures, and I assembled this comparison shot. The left picture is from this past December, I dunno how much I weighed then, but I'm pretty sure it was more than 265.

The right picture is from today, March 15th 2009.

Can y'all see any difference?
 
:hurray:I see a big difference. Wow!!! So I read that you aint gonna hit the gym twice a day. Good for you. I did read that somewhere that if you do work out too much your body will get use to that and not burn what you want it to. And that it is actually good for your body to rest a day or two.

But you are on the right track!I was thinking the same of adding more sit-ups push-ups, etc.. in the evening. Well, I am off to drink my WATER!!! Hey, have you had any yet? :)

Yeah, going twice a day is overdoing it if your not eating enough calories to be working out so much, plus once a day feels more 'normal'.

Mar. 15 ---

I went to the gym that night, I did 30 mins on the treadmill. I was then gonna jump on the elliptical but they were all taken. So I got on one of the stationary bikes. Man that thing was killing my legs, especially the muscle that connects the knee to the thigh, it was one of those kinda elongated horizontal bikes. I was only on it for 10 mins, and in pain the whole time.

I then did 20 mins on the elliptical that doesn't have the handle bars to move your upper body, just the feet part.

Mar. 16 ---

I had to go to Sam's Club in the morning to buy some raw chicken breast. I passed by their cooked pizza section and mmhmmm those things looked so good. I had me 2 slices. :blush5:

Later in the day I felt very very sore. I dunno if it was soreness or a bodyache, but I did not feel good at all, I spent pretty much all day in bed. The headaches didn't help much either. I really thought I wasn't going to be able to workout that day.

Well at nighttime I pulled myself together and felt good enough to go workout, so I did. I did 30 mins on the elliptical then 30 mins on the treadmill.

After that I went in the sauna for 5 mins, then the steam room for 10. :D

Mar. 17 ---

Today I have been pretty good with my eating. I had my shake this morning with a small piece of sweet mexican bread. This was at about 8 in the morning.

Then at 12 (in school) I had one of those pre-made pre-wrapped chicken pesto foccacia half sandwiches, man I love those, there are very good. I also had a blueberry nutri-grain bar. I had my big water bottle with me at school all day so I drank outta that.

Then after school at about 4:30 I had a chicken sandwich from Farmer Boys. It was on wheat bread, had avocado, no sauce, and very tasty.

I'm about to have a snack then go to the gym in a bit, see if I could try out that complete body workout with the dumbbells today. :D
 
Mar. 17 ---

I did 30 mins on the treadmill that day. Then I headed to the weight room, but I was intimidated by all those buff cut dudes doing free weights, so I went straight to the pool instead.

Mar. 18 ---

I had my shake for breakfast, I don't remember what I ate with it, but I'm sure it was healthy.

Then at about 12:20ish I cooked myself a nice big chicken breast sandwich. We ran out of wheat bread so I used the white one instead.

I then did 30 mins on the elliptical at school, at about 5 p.m.

After that I ate a chicken wrap I bought at school, It was one of those pre-made pre-wrapped one, was ok, not bad.

I ate a pear at home.

I went to the gym again at 10 p.m., did 30 mins on the treadmill. Was gonna do weights but had forgotten my mp3 player, and without my music it just ain't the same, so I went home instead.

I'm about to have some fruit.
 
Mar. 19 ---

Woke up earlyish, had my shake, was the last of it. I had it with a Nature's Valley granola bar.

I went to the movies at noon, the movie was long so I bought me a hot dog half way though it, just one, I also had my liter and a half water bottle with me.

At about 5 o' clock I had a turkey burger with a side of veggies (broccoli), with some water.

I've had some fruit too, and all my vitamins of course.

I'm about to go to the gym in a bit.
 
Mar. 19 --- I ended up not going to the gym that day, I felt too sick to go.

Mar. 20 --- Went to the gym for an hour (cardio). Ate at my usual. Except at night I went on a bit of a Taco Bell binge, but the food was healthy.

Mar. 21 --- Went to the gym for only 30 mins of cardio, I was coughing too much. I ate good that day, went to Taco Bell again that night but ate less than the day before.

Mar. 22---

I had my shake and vitamins in the morning, along with a granola bar. I went to the gym for an hour. I did 30 mins of cardio on the elliptical. Then I did 30 mins of weights. I did half on the machines, and the other half on free weights.

After my workout I cooked myself a nice chicken sandwich.
 
Mar. 23 ---

I've done real well with my eating today. I had my shake for breakfast along with a pb&j sandwich.

I went to work.

Couldnt eat till 12ish, I had me a nice mouth-watering home cooked chicken sandwich on wheat bread.

I went to the gym around 2ish. I did 30 mins on the treadmill. Then I did 15 mins on the stairmaster (that thing was more intense that I thought it would!). Then I did 15 on the stationary bike, I figure its time to throw in some new moves to help improve results.

I came home and had me some chicken fajitas my mom had made, just a small portion, and they were gooooood.

Just 13 days till my weigh in, I have a feeling this is gonna be another good one. :D
 
Mar. 24 ---

I had my shake in the morning. I had a nice chicken sandwich at night.

I went to the gym at night, I did about 25 mins of weights, most of them were free weights. I then got on the treadmill for 30 mins.

I went on a small binge at night, wasn't too bad i think. :(

Mar. 25 ---

I had my shake in the morning. I then had me a nice chicken sandwich for lunch, I even put some BBQ sauce on it, was good.

I went to the gym but I was feeling a bit burnt-out, so all I did there today was jump in the pool for a small bit, then I hit the jacuzzi, sauna, and finally the steam room.

I have eaten a lot of fruit today too.
 
Hey Dude, just stoppin' by to see how things are going. Sounds like you're on track, and wow, you can already see a big difference in your picture comparison. Great job - keep at it!
 
OK, I have had abandoned my journal for a long time now, 2 and a half weeks!! :blush5:

But, I am back and intend to get back on track, cause the time I spent not posting I actually have been doing bad with my regimen, I barely worked out these past two weeks, man that spring break isn't always good huh?

Apr. 5 ---

I weighed myself that day like I usually do on the 5th, and I weighed in at 247 pounds, that's a minus of 6 pounds from the month before, ,making it a total of 18 pounds lost so far. :D

I feel I could of done better, I started to lack some effort near the end of the month, but that was then, I am now back on track. :D
 
Apr. 12 ---

I had a raisin brand cereal in the morning with 2% milk. Then my daily vitamins.

I later had a pear and a low-fat yogurt before hitting the gym.

I started working out at about 2 p.m. I did 25 mins on the elliptical at a decent intensity.

I then did 35 mins on the treadmill, alternating between walking a steep incline and jogging at 4.9 mph with no incline.

I then hit the sauna for 10 mins.

After my workout I ate a homemade loaded chicken sandwich on wheat bread. I have had water all day except for some natural berry juice blend I had in the morning. I also had another pear when I had my sandwich.

I plan on doing the full body dumbbell workout that I had talked about before, I'm going to do it later at night, at home with some dumbbells I just bought. :D
 
Aug. 30 ---

I had abandoned my journal, only because what I was doing became so natural and second nature, I did not feel the need to update everyday, especially when what I was doing was basically the same.

I got stuck at 245 for quite a while, like 3-4 months, but, although I was stuck at 245, I could still see changes in my monthly photos, my body composition has been changing, but my weight not so much.

I recently implemented the advice I got on here to do much more weight training to help speed up the process, well, it has worked, these last two weeks I have been hitting the weights hard and have lost 3 pounds from the eternal 245, now I'm at 242, but I can see such a major change in my tricep, chest, and thighs that it seems the number should be lower.

Why does to weight seem to be coming off so slow now? Maybe I just want it off already it seems to take forever?

I'm going to use this diary now to keep track of my progress, which I will take every Sunday, where I'll weigh myself, take measurements and such.

Anyways, enough blabbing, this is today's numbers. I weighed in at 242.4, which was discouraging because last week I weighed in at 242.8, but then I took some measurements today and I seem to have lost a bit over an inch off my chest and some off my waist, plus I can see some change. Maybe it was some muscle growth and made the weight not to seem like it changed much.

Ok, today I took my measurements, some of these are embarrassing :blush5:, but for the sake of record keeping, here they are........

Chest: 46"
Arm (bicep while flexed): 15.5"
Stomach (Abdomen): 47"
Waist: 43.5"
Thigh (dead center between knee and waist): 26"
Calf (across widest part): 18.5"

When I took those I had lost some 12-15 pounds already, I can only imagine what the originals where, :blush5:

Well, as of today......

Chest: 42"
Arm (bicep while flexed): 14.75"
Stomach (Abdomen): 42"
Waist: 40"
Thigh (dead center between knee and waist): 24.25"
Calf (across widest part): 17.5"

I lost four pounds last week and weighed in at 238, I can feel the change everywhere, got to keep on truckin' to get the rest off. :cool:
