First Diary, New Effort......

I thought that mostly applies to weight training, isn't it pretty safe to do cardio jut about everyday?

Feb. 24 ---

I had absolutely no sleep what so ever last night, I had to stay up doing some lengthy assignments for school that I had let pile up do to procrastination.

I left for school at about 6:45 am, and boy was I feeling tired, aside from having a bad cold, I was fatigued outta my mind.

I am taking the day off from doing any sort of excersice at all, I jut don't wanna risk passing out, cause I think I can as tired as I was this morning.

Now I said ''was'' because this morning I had me a nice full breakfast with a couple more calories than usual, I really needed that energy boost!

I had a chiken club, it had bacon, avocado, the lettuce and tomato (of course) and dijon mustard as the sauce. I had it with a nice warm bowl of chicken tortilla soup, and as a drink I had a rasberry iced tea. Man did that wake me up! Then I had my morning dose of all my vitamins of course.

I'm going to all my classes today (which are one right next after the other :( ) and I will try to sneak in a nice snack in between breaks so as to eat at my allocated time.

Once I'm off at 3:40, I'm driving straight home, watch some T.V. till about 7 p.m., have me a good amount of Nyquil and getting me a nice 12 hour nap! Man I can't wait till bedtime today.........

That one day that I didn't get any sleep last week, tuesday, was a real catalyst for me getting sick. For the next three days or so I could not work out at all since I had a major body ache and back pain, and a bad case of the flu.

24-- No workout, eating regiemen remained intact.

25, 26, 27, 28-- Half of those days I was too sick to workout, and the other days I was too busy at a school function all day to workout too, but I did maintain my high water intake and low-calorie healthy diet.

Mar. 1 ---

This day I got a good workout at the gym, I did cardio on the treadmill for 30 mins, then did a lot of weights, about 11 machines, 2 sets of 15 reps on each, messed around in the water for like 10 mins, then got in the jacuzzi for 10 mins, and the steam room for about 5.

Mar. 2 ---

I have eaten a lot of fruit yesterday and today, I had a slice of pizza around 10. a.m. at Sam's Club, was the veggie kind and was my first meal of the day.

At around 12 noon I made myself a chicken sandwich, and have drank a lot of water all day.

As soon as all my HW is done I shall be heading out to the gym. =D

Mar. 2 ---

Went to the gym at about 9:30 p.m. I did 60 mins of cardio, 30 of them on the treadmill, alternating between a steep incline and jogging with no incline for a bit. The other 30 mins I did on the cross training machine on a high intensity.

After I was done with the cardio, I went into the pool and ''swam'' around in it a bit more than usual. I can last longer swimming now! :D After some 20 mins in the pool, I got in the jacuzzi for a bit then hit the steam room.

Mar. 3 ---

I don't quite remember what I ate, but I do remember I stayed within my diet guidelines the whole day.

I went to the gym at about 9:30 p.m. that night, I did 40 mins of cardio on the cross training machine at a high intensity.

Then I hit the weight room and did various sets on various machines. This time around I incorporated some free weights into the mix. This time I did weights for a good 25 mins.

After that, I hit the pool and swam around in it for a good 20 mins. I then hit the jacuzzi and steam room as usual.

I maintained my usual diet regimen for that day as well.

Mar. 4 ---

I woke up a bi late today, but I made me a nice grilled chicken breast for breakfast along with a side of rice and beans, mhmmmm mmmm delicious!

I then hit the gym here at school at about 1 p.m. I did 60 mins of cardio, I took a 2 min water break at the 30 min mark, but it still was 60 mins total. I did them all on the cross training machine at a high intensity.

I plan on hitting the gym again at night.

Tomorrow is my official weigh-in date, that's why I'm pulling a double stop to the gym today, I hope for a very good number tomorrow, and I'm gonna weigh myself after an early morning workout. I'll take the picture at night at the same spot with the same pants on to give it the same look as the first one, I hope to notice a nice difference. :D

Hi The Dude!! You are doing a great job. Keep up the motivation. I hope you see the results you are looking for. I love to eat like you do when you had your chicken breast, rice and beans in themorning. I found that it would make me fuller then eating a small bowl of ceral, of course.. But gotta watch out for that gas! LOL!!

You have a good day! Keep us up dated and Dont forget to DRINK your WATER!

Thank you Jelly Belly, I sure have been drinking that water :D

Today I ate another serving of chicken breast with rice and beans at about 4:30 p.m.

I went to the gym again today at 6:30 p.m. I did 30 mins on the treadmill, alternating between high inclines and fast speeds. I then went in the pool for 25 mins, this time moving around more than usual, I then finished with just 5 mins in the jacuzzi.

I am not consuming anything till after my morning workout and weigh in tomorrow. >_<

*crosses fingers..........:D

Here is a comparison picture of my first month's progress, left side is from February, right side is of March.

Can y'all see a difference?

--P.S. Can anyone tell me how to get the picture to show without having to have it as a link?

Hey Dude, thanks for dropping by my journal. And big congratulations on the 12lbs! That's an excellent loss, and that's great you kept with your food regimen through the flu.

...I'm surprised I'm not seeing more white russians in your food diary :)

Mar. 5 ---

I celebrated my weight loss that day by not working out, I took it as a rest day. During the day I kept my eating regimen on, but, once it got dark and it was late, I bought a pizza and me and my brother goobled it up, I ate it slow, hope that counts positively towards me.

Mar. 6 ---

I stayed up all night, we saw the midnight showing of the new Watchmen movie (was really good) then came home at 3 a.m. (long movie btw), was on the laptop until 5 am and that's when I went to the gym (where I put in 30 mins of cardio on the treadmill). So I'm sure any excess calories I consumed with the pizza were surely burned off with that all nighter.

For breakfast before I left for school I had myself my meal replacement shake, along with a nature's valley granola bar, and my vitamins of course. In the school parking lot I took a 40 min nap in my car, then came in, that is all till now......

Still Mar. 6 ---

Had a dry chicken sandwich with cheese for lunch, by itself, no fries, along with some horchata.

Then afterwards around 6 p.m. I had a 6" subway roasted chicken breast sandwich, no mayo, and with all the cool veggies on it, along with avocado.

At night I bought me a small pack of flaming hot peanuts, was a small packet, handful really.

I didn't go the gym again cause I was feeling pretty tired over not having slept, but I plan to catch up tomorrow. :D

Mar. 7 ---

I was busy this day, I could of worked out, but, I just could not find my mp3 player at all, and my music while I work out is key in keeping me active and motivated during them....

Throughout the day I kept my eating regimen intact, chicken sandwich for lunch after having had just a shake and fruit for breakfast.

But......but......at night I got a bit of a craving and went to Del Taco....I only had 2 chicken tacos del carbon, a del taco cheeseburger, and a regular soft taco, not much calories I presume.....it was late, around 11ish when this happened.......

Mar. 8 ---

Being a Sunday, I took the liberty of disconnecting the alarm clock the night before, and slept in till my hearts desire, 11 a.m., or with the newly enacted daylight savings, noon. :D

I had a chicken sandwich for breakfast, it had two strips of bacon, but hey, I was hungry, and two little strips ain't bad, I think they were quite nutricious. :D

I went to the gym at about 4ish. I did 30 mins on the cross-training machine at a high intensity. then I did about 20 mins of weights. I went in the pool for 15 mins, jacuzzi for 5 mins. I then did about 30 mins alternating between the sauna and the steam room, I recently read they are very good for your skin so I decided to indulge in them today.

I came home and made myself a nice chicken sandwich on wheat, had me some fruit and plenty of water with my vitamins.

In a little bit I'm going jogging outdoors, I plan on doing 4 miles, which should take me about an hour. I feel I have gotten off course and hopefully this will make me feel like I'm back on track.

This should be a nice change from the gym, it should be fun. :D

Mar. 8 ---

I went jogging down the street tonight, 4 miles in one hour, and man what a difference from cardio at the gym! this 'real' cardio is much harder, and need much conditioning to get good at this, without any moving equipment, your moving your entire body by yourself and its much harder.....

it was a good run and look forward to doing this more often.........

Mar. 9 ---

I had myself my GNC Lean Shake meal replacement shake in the morning, along with a Nature's Valley granola bar, and my morning dose of vitamins.

I then went to work. I was off early and had lunch at about 12:30 p.m. I cooked myself a chicken sandwich on wheat bread, I put me some tomato, cheese, lettuce, avocado, jalapeno and mustard in the sandwich, mmmm it was delicious!

At about 1:30 p.m. I went to the gym here on campus, I did 30 mins on the cross training machine and about another 30 mins of weights, I plan on going again in the late afternoon.

After my workout at about 4 p.m. I had a Fresco Chicken Fiesta Burrito from Taco Bell, which is off there "green" menu and is really healthy! I had that along with a Fresco Soft Taco(healthy choice as well :D) I downed it all down with a 20 oz. Lemon Lime Powerade.

Thanks for all the support girls!! I'm sorry I just noticed I didn't acknowledge your kind words :blush5:, if it weren't for this site I'd still be getting closer to 300 lbs.

Mar. 9 ---

After a couple hours of supposedly doing school 'work' and procrastinating, I had me a nutri-grain fruit and nut bar and went to the school gym again, it was about 10:30 p.m. I did 30 mins on the cross-training, then I went to the water fountain, got back on the cross-training and did another 30 mins for a total of 60. Then I just went home.

You are doing Great with your workouts. I remeber when I use to jog on the treadmill. I thought I did that long enough and I could jog around my nieghbor hood. Well, I sure learned something new that day. LOL!! It is very different joggin on the pavement then on a treadmill. I love it. It's a good workout.

Well, you have a Awesome day and Keep Positive. Dont forget to drink your WATER!!!!
