Fighting the Apple

Ah...so Wolfy is a bird dog!!! A grouse took to flight right near me the other day on my walk. Scared the daylights out of me. Hadn't heard that sound since I was a kid walking with my dad in the woods.

Beckster - scares the pant off of you, right! OHD /me waves right back ;)

Food

Brekkies: porridge oats with added whey protein and a chopped banana.
Late morning: a dressed cooked crab, apple, kiwi fruit, an avacado pear.
Post workout: whey protein shake.
Mid afternoon: Beef steak, two slices of w/m bread, hummus. Another banana, a handful of grapes and an orange juice.
Early evening: a chicken breast fillet, a leek, sweet potato, carrot, a portabella mushroom, a tomato, wholemeal pasta basted in walnut oil, a little hummus, and some cottage cheese.
Late evening: another chicken breast fillet, low fat yoghurt over mixed nuts and mixed seeds.
Beer - 4 bottles of Portuguese beer.

Exercise

Strength training session at gym. Dumbbells, bench, and weight machines. Increased single arm rows to 22.5kg dumbbell. Used leg extension at 45 kg for first time for ages. Also 2 x 10 minute sessions on eliptical crosstrainer.

Walking - lots today. 2 x dog walking and more, totalling maybe 7 miles.

Dariqueen - I keep getting Mrs Ferret's heartrate up when I keep chasing her! There are lots of benefits to this fitness lark ;)

M2m - I was actually very good - only 4 small bottles of beer at the pub! It actually was a very good night. A samba band from Norwich had come to our little town to give a performance on the street, and lots of the local Portuguese and Brazilian migrants joined in (our town is like a frontier town these days - lots of Portuguese, Polish, Lithuanian, Brazilian, Slovak and Latvians have moved here over the past 10years). Then some of the Brazilian boys started to caporeira dance - it was suddenly like a Brazilian street in our little East Anglian town. My luck - I didn't have my camera on me! Still for a quiet little town with only one night club, and where the pubs close at 11pm, it was an unusual Tuesday evening!

My last day off before returning to work :(

Brekkies: porridge oats with added whey protein and some honey.
Late morning/pre workout: 2 slices of w/m bread, 1 hard boiled egg, big dollop of cottage cheese.
Post workout: whey protein shake, a banana, an orange juice.

Exercise

Warm ups and 50 crunches during the morning at home.

Dog-jogging session. Three mile run along our favourite forest trail. Not the best run, I have a weak lower back from Wolfy pulling me during yesterday's walk. We ran for almost a mile, when I felt a sudden twang in my back! I slowed for a break, and jogged the rest of the trail. We did get some good speed up again, but completed in 26 minutes - 3 minutes short of our best :( My heart rate averaged 151 bpm, maxed at a recorded 168 bpm!

I'll continue todays diary tonight in a later post.

Wednesday continued into the late afternoon and evening...

Food (since 2 pm)

Pre workout (2): an oat bar, another banana.
Post workout late afternoon: 2 hard boiled eggs (1 yolk), dollops of cottage cheese, 2 organic tomatos, 1 raw carrot, 2 slices of w/m bread.
Evening meal: now going to have, lemon chicken, brown basmati rice, broccoli, carrot.

Exercise (yup more!)

Although I ran 3 miles with Wolfy earlier, and did my crunches, I felt sedentary after (sitting with the pooter), so I opted on the last day of my break from work, to do an extra cardio session at the gym: 20 minutes on exercise bike, 20 minutes on eliptical crosstrainer, 20 minutes on stepper, 10 minutes interval sprinting on the treadmill.

I was exhausted! After gym, I also felt something that I haven't felt for ages (with the frequent meals) - hunger! I wonder how many calories I burnt today?

If my back can take it (its still sore from the dog-jog), I might take Wolfy for a short walk before bed.

Thank you all! I've decided to stop updating this diary on a daily basis. I haven't been cutting to lose weight for months, I have instead become more interested in improving my fitness further, and on long term weight maintainence.

I would like to sincerely thank the board moderators, technicians, and everyone in the Weightloss community for supporting my efforts in this diary and elsewhere on the boards. I am not leaving Weightloss Forums - I will continue to support others, discuss weight loss, report my progress from time to time - and have a giggle! This is a great example of online community.

I would recommend that others new to weightloss, that they consider starting an online diary - its a great way of measuring your progress, discliplining yourself, and well - a motivation! I don't want to hog up bandwidth or bump down other threads where people still need more support than I do, so i wont report in this diary so much in future. However, I have become accustomed to the practice of record keeping, so I will continue my diary off board in the form of my . Its not support that I need anymore - just the habit of recording everything! I can extend my record keeping there to non-weight loss topics too.

So, its not a goodbye, but I'm going to let this thread sink, so that new diaries of new members can rise. :)

Thanks again weight loss Diary and posters. You are a great bunch of people!

Well I wish you the very best T.F., your daily posts will be missed but I'm glad to hear you aren't leaving the community entirely. This place grows on ya doesn't it?
