Fighting my bad body double!

Don't know if anyone out there is an Imogen Heap fan... My new diary title is from a song of hers that seemed appropriate!
I thought I'd start a new journal. I feel I've come a long way since I started my last one back in March... even if it is only fitness-wise and not so much weight-wise lol.
Well, little bit about my journey over the past few months... I've always really been into fitness, but after losing my best friend over a year ago I stopped doing anything, gained a mess-load of weight, and then couldn't get back into it again. I joined a 12wk endurance challenge at my gym in Feb and started getting personal training sessions and regularly exercising again... so I'm really fit now, yay! And strong! I just struggle with my eating.
I really want to lose this weight now... In 2 weeks I am going to be studying fitness, with the intention of being a personal trainer. So I want to look like a trainer! I want to be a good role model for clients. Be able to practice what I preach! Above all I just want to be healthy!

Yo... So really wasn't happy with todays weigh-in, but knew it wouldn't be good. I know a fair bit of it is fluid, as TOM is visiting right now... but I guess that means I'll bust a huge loss this week!

Todays Plan
Food
Breakfast: 50g oats, 1 cup skim milk, 1tbsp peanut butter, banana (543)
Snack: Protein shake with skim milk (181)
Lunch: Soft rye wrap, cannellini bean burger, egg, tomato, spinach (447)
Snack: Banana chia pudding (360)
Dinner: 125g 4 bean mix, 100g low fat cottage cheese, 1 tomato, 1 cup spinach (210)

Note: Dinner I was going to eat as a salad... but it's the middle of winter, so I thought I'd be creative. I added pepper, cumin, chilli, a green onion... then stuck the whole lot in the food processor, and heated it on the stove. It came out like a thick n chunky green soup and tasted like cheese and onion dip! OMG... was so good!!

Exercise
1hr walk

Calories burned- 2740
Calories consumed- 1739, 45g fat, 225g carbs, 109g protein
Water intake- 3L

Deficit this week so far: 1001 cals

I love Imogen Heap! :)
Good luck on this next sort of part of your journey. That's so exciting you'll be studying fitness! I've often considered getting certified for personal training as well. Certainly good motivation for getting in better shape!
Looks like you're on the right track!

Hey Lucy

I read part of your old journal but I don't think I ever posted. I decided to on this one.....Looks like you are doing great and it's very motivational to see that out of your new lifestyle you are actually found your career..Good Luck on both of your journeys. If I could I would send some of the heat we have here your way, we are breaking heat record over here and it's not fun!

Your weigh-in was better than mine!! Looks like we will be on the same page going forward! I'm ready to bust off some perfect days and get back down into the 140's!! Let's hope it's mostly water weight - a few days should tell.
Keep it up Luz - your my motivation this month!

Thanks Hanabi- this is actually the 3rd time I've gotten into the course, but the first time I actually enrolled lol... third time lucky I guess!! I've wanted to do fitness since I was 18 and got a job in a gym. Fell in love with it back then so I'm happy I finally get the chance to do it!

Thanks for stopping by Veroc! I would LOVE some heat right now, we've had a frost 3 mornings in a row- it's unusual if we have more than 3 in one winter!!! Bleh I am SO over it!!!

Goodluck on your journey, this is a big step and i wish you all the best

Thanks Kye!!!!!!

I'm proud to say that today was a perfect day- YES!!!! Had some more fun with my food processor tonight after dinner too... I'm having pizza for lunch tomorrow and decided to make my own pizza base- but I wanted it high protein... and low calorie (or low enough to fit into my day). So I went about it the same way I do any time I make a new recipe... threw in a heap of ingredients I like and hope for the best. It wasn't really a dough, more like a pancake mix lol... took forever to cook but it happened!!! Smelled AMAZING! So I will let you know what it it tastes like tomorrow lol. Here's the list of ingredients:
125g 4 bean mix, 100g cottage cheese, 1 cup baby spinach leaves, 1 tomato, 30g wheat germ, 20g chia seeds, 1 spring onion, 1/2 clove garlic, dash of oregano, dash of chilli, dash of pepper, dash of mixed herbs. I'm not going to lie, it's UGLY- it's vomit green lol. It smelled like pizza without anything even on it though while I was cooking the base! I topped it with 50g grated cheese and a heap of mushrooms. So it's 4 serves of veg by itself!! And here's the nutritional info: Cals 559, Fat 20g, Carbs 45g, Protein 47g (this is with the toppings) And that may look high calorie... but this pizza is FREAKIN HUGE. So I think I did well for a first attempt! It usually takes me 2-3 tries to perfect a recipe anyway... I guess I'll find out when I eat it!

Let's do this missy!!!! I'm feeling really positive this time around- I'm getting a lot more creative with my cooking now I FINALLY have a food processor. Nothing is sacred... I have to try blending everything at least once!
I'm sure a lot of your weight is water, I know at least a little bit of mine is. Aiming for an awesome week this week so I guess the scales will tell me at the end of it!

Good morning pretties! No plans again today... Going to do some baking, got a heap of pumpkin to play with... I'm having fun coming up with chia seed puddings too, that stuff is so cool! You put it in anything with liquid and it turns to pudding haha!! Todays pudding is choc hazelnut... It's 1/2 cup milk, 20g hazelnuts, 1 scoop choc protein powder, 1 tsp unsweetened cocoa, 1 tsp honey, 1 tbsp chia, sprinkle of cinnamon. So should be nice n creamy!!

I always have fun in the kitchen!! Came up with another awesome creation... I've never had pumpkin pie before, and I don't know how it's supposed to taste or anything... but I made 'pumpkin pie' baked cheesecake (no base) to see how it went... Pretty much all I did was chuck pumpkin, cottage cheese, an egg, some honey and looked up what was in pumpkin pie spice on the net... then I baked it. Tada! And it tasted freakin awesome! I actually wasn't going to try it because all my meals were planned out... I ended up eating all of it, but didn't eat anything for the rest of the day and still managed a 1000cal deficit!
I'm about to run to the shop in all my bogan-ness wearing trackies and sneakers lol... I actually don't mind doing that but I feel like a bum because I used to work there and I know everyone lol. I figure I'll go early and avoid most people though! I can't get dressed and wear my normal shoes because I have the WORST blisters from a different pair I wore the other day and my sneakers are the only shoes I can wear without pain!
I'm doing more baking today- I reckon I can make pumpkin pie cheesecake slice and maybe banana cheesecake slice too since I have SO many bananas. Mmm I might make that with a chocolate base. And then I can slice it all up and freeze it... because frozen cheesecake is the BOMB! The best thing is I know exactly what is in everything, and not a single empty calorie :D Eating healthy creatively is so much fun!

Todays Plan
Food
Breakfast: 50g oats, 1 cup skim milk, 1tbsp peanut butter, banana (543)
Snack: Protein shake with skim milk, raw choc peanut butter ball (305)
Lunch: Soft rye wrap, cannellini bean burger, egg, tomato, spinach (447)
Snack: Creamy carrot cake mousse (another experiment!) (422)
Dinner: Vegetable frittata with chia seeds - Ick, so this was a fail. I had a few mouthfuls and couldn't eat anymore! Instead I had 2 more choc peanut butter balls lol (250)

So that was all ok... then I had to try some cheesecake cuz hubby wanted to try it... so oops...

Snack: 1.5 pieces of choc banana cheesecake (493)

Exercise
1hr walk, 17 min jog, 30mins gym with trainer

Calories burned- 3108
Calories consumed- 2575, 80g fat, 336g carbs, 123g protein
Water intake- 4L and still going!

So what did I bake today? I made baked choc banana cheesecake slice and pumpkin pie slice!!!! All free from processed sugar and anything artificial :D I love my creativity! Won't be able to give a taste test till tomorrow though, I like to let the cheesecake rest for a few hours and then refrigerate overnight before eating it. I'll take photos when I slice them up! And if they taste awesome I'll post recipes, cuz they were just so damn easy to make!! And I absolutely believe in cutting nothing out of my diet so these should be an awesome way to fix any cravings I have!
Also- each piece of cheesecake has about 15g nuts, a serve of either fruit or veg, about 10g of protein cuz I used cottage cheese, also really high in fibre! Also the cocoa in the banana cheesecake is really good for your skin :D No empty calories anywhere! I sweetened with a bit of honey which is full of antioxidants. So nothing nasty anywhere either!
I know I'm going to like it but the real test is if my hubby does... he's a junk-foodie so if he likes it then I know anyone will lol :D

Hey Lucy

I am a BIG fan of cheese cake so I am hoping it is gonna pass the hubby test lol Can't wait to see that recepie!!!

Good morning all!! It's Friday, YAY!!!

I have to say though... not working is making every day blend into the next. Like I went to the gym last night to do my warm up... and for about 10mins of the run I was doing I was trying to figure out if it actually WAS Thursday... for some reason I suddenly thought 'Oh shit, it's Wednesday!' Lol.
Well the verdict on the cheesecake... The flavour of the actual cheesecake part was drowned out by the flavour of the chocolate base... SO will need some tweaking! So I'll post the recipe when I have it perfect!
I'm going out with Wade today, to the casino! YAY! He's had a really rough week- they've found another cancerous lump in his liver... this one is in the opposite side to the rest of the cancer, and in a much more dangerous place. He's had his medication changed and the doctors are just seeing how it goes. Also his grandmother had 2 strokes yesterday and his family were informed that she wasn't going to live through the night... Poor love, he stopped in and saw me on the way to work yesterday and he was so emotional. Hopefully I can distract him a little today!

Today
Food
Breakfast: 50g oats, 1 banana, 1 cup milk, 1 tbsp peanut butter (559)
Snack: Protein shake with skim milk, (181)
Snack: Pumpkin mousse (77)
Snack: 2 choc peanut butter balls, 1 gingerbread ball (389)
Dinner: Soft rye wrap, cannellini bean burger, tomato, spinach (372)

Exercise
None!!!!!!!!! Having a day off!!!

Calories burned- 2597
Calories consumed- 1578, 37g fat, 228g carbs, 84g protein
Water intake- 2L

Deficit this week so far: 3545 cals

Fun fact of the day :D I always add cinnamon to everything... I love it, it smells awesome. It goes on my brekki every morning, in all my baking. I also do it because of the health benefits though! Did you know that just a small amount helps regulate your blood sugar? That's just one of the benefits, and the big one for me... but studies have also shown it can lower your LDL cholesterol and is a good source of manganese, fiber, iron, and calcium.

:waving:
