Going belly-dancing again tonight and my shift got cancelled so I can walk there and back with Conor which will be nice ^_^ It's gonna be about 4 miles altogether and then a hours belly dancing. I'm having a sandwich and a sausage roll now and then am going to make something with chicken breasts when I get home. Maybe chicken/baked potato and veg or something.

Got a driving lesson tomorrow but not until 12:30 so can have a lie in tomorrow which will be nice! :D Hope everyone is having a good day xx

They've been very high recently!! Too much good food in my fridge :p Hope you're okay hun, not seen you update in a while!!

Yesterdays food was much lower so I'm pleased--Even with all the wine at the end of the evening!! Ended up back at a friends until 3am so food was very low considering how hungry I was when I got back!

The friend I go to Belly dancing with has found a Zumba class before it so I'll be starting that in a few weeks when a new class begins :D Had a good 4 mile walk yesterday so hopefully I'll get something in today as well!

Breakfast: 2 crumpets (160)

Not got time to post properly but I signed up with a 12 month contract to a gym near my house today. Literally a 2 min walk, if that. I can see if from my door-step! And it's loveeeely. So got my induction tomorrow at 9am and then will stay on extra.

Had my last night of pigging out before the gym bunny from last year reappears but am feeling VERY good about getting a membership. The fact that I'm paying myself will encourage me to go :)

So the gym was awesome! It's really nice inside :) Didn't want to do tooooo much as I've not been in about 6 months but I got really sweaty and gross so must be good! They have the really cool bikes where you have a screen and it's almost like a video game. You follow a trail and move the handlebars to follow the path properly and you race against other people. I did a mountain trail and it was so much fun! Was 3 miles long and took me 15 mins but a lot of it was up-hill so slower. That burnt 150 calories and then I did a 15 min speed walk (1.5 miles) on the treadmill that was also around 150 calories. Then some leg-presses and 10 mins on the step machine (equivalent of 20 flights of stairs).

Then a shower and home! Only got about 5 hours of sleep tonight so gonna grab a nap (also a good excuse not to snack all day!!) I had 1 egg on toast (no butter, 1 slice of bread) this morning for a pre-gym snack but I'm meeting my boss for dinner and a belly dancing concert tonight so will be pigging out a little.

Feel AWESOME. Forgot how brilliant exercise makes me feel. Have a great day everyone!

Oh man it's so great that you've joined a gym so close to where you live.
Exercise is gonna make allll the difference in your weight loss.
Go team you.

You may already know this, but apparently most of what a hangover is is dehydration. Drink lots of water and it should help it clear up sooner.

I've been drinking plenty of water, thanks Amy! It's not the hangover so much that bothers me but the cravings for grease that come along with it ;) Must avoid the bacon butty!

So, I dragged my butt to the gym. Can't believe how un-fit I've got in just a few months. When I lost all the weight last year I was going to the gym 5 times a week and could easily burn 800-1000 calories a session. Now I'm struggling to make 400!! :auto:

I'm focusing more on building up my fitness levels rather than focusing on calories burnt. The exercise bike (which I've always hated) is going to become my best friend! Did a 5 mile trail on the video game bikes which was awesome and you can put in place this programme where you see the "ghost" bike rider of yourself from previous sessions when you log it! So if I do the same trail tomorrow I can see myself from yesterday and try and beat myself. I've not explained it well but it's great!

Then I did some leg presses and resistance machines which were very hard but worth it. Can feel in my legs and stomach that the work-out has done me good! Feel the burrrrrn! Then I finished up with 10 mins on the cross trainer on a hard level. I burnt about 170 calories on that. Not great but it's a start and I can build up my fitness again.

Breakfast: 1 litre of water
Lunch: brown/wild rice and veggies with some chicken (400)
Dinner: skinless chicken breast casserole with veg and wild rice (600)
Snacks: small bowl of wild rice/veg (160) 2 x beer (280)

Total: 1440
Exercise: gym.

Making a yummy casserole soon--Very low-fat. Can you tell from my food that I've been having a wild rice day?! It's so yummy and makes you so full. One cup is only 216 calories and it's so filling and yummy with a little salt and veg. Or low-calorie soy sauce and veg. Mmmm. Haven't decided whether to have the casserole with jacket potato or rice yet so we'll see but the calories are about the same and I wont be tempted to put cheese/butter on my rice, unlike the potato!

Feel so great that I went to the gym this afternoon. Am aching still from the last two days but feel really positive. Tomorrow I'm going to view a potential house to rent for June at 10 and then maybe a BBQ on the beach (I doubt I'll eat much there--Maybe a hot-dog in a bun) so want to get to the gym straight after the house-viewing. Am aiming for 3-5 days a week. Tuesday will have to be a day off as I'm always working a night shift and need to rest during the day. But I want to go as much as possible :D

I miss some of my friends from here that haven't posted in a while :( Hope everyone is okay and still on the wagon! Hope they'll be back to update us soon!

Hey! I'm so glad you're getting back into the swing of things. You're actually making me crave the gym: I wish I could afford it.

Is wild rice easy to cook? I can only cook boil in the bag stuff. If I could cook brown rice I'd eat it but I've always failed when I've tried and it's been soggy or burnt to the pan.

I miss some of my friends from here that haven't posted in a while
I know what you mean? Where is everyone?! It seems so quiet at the moment :(

hehe I agree the bike sounds like a lot of fun. I miss the gym. Money is too tight to try for that right now. Glad you're getting your money's worth =]

Hana!! You joined a gym! That's great, and that video bike game sounds way cool. It's always good to try and beat your previous achievements so I think it's pretty cool they have something that makes it easier to do that. Looking forward to all your gym-related posts!! And Zumba, everyone seems to love Zumba. You must be soooo pumped now that you don't have your dissertation to think about! I finished up school in December and I still haven't stopped appreciating all the free time I have now.

Hey Hana! The ghost rider thing sounds AWESOME!!! I'd love to do something like that - kinda freaky too.

Read back a few pages and just wanted to say good luck with figuring out 'what you want to be when you grow up'. It would drive me crazy not having a plan and a 'map' for my life. I've had a plan since I was about 14 or 15, but I'm anal that way. The plan may have changed a few times, but overall not too much. I just like knowing where I'm going!

And I have to say that Yank is so lucky to have you! What a sweetie you are to help him try to find a job! I too always want to 'fix things' for people when they complain about stuff. My coworker and best friend is a whiner - hates so much about his life. I'm full of advise, but he never takes any of it. Just continues to whine about it. Drives me nuts sometimes!!!

Anyway - glad to see you are doing well! I'm still on the wagon (most days) but short on time to post lately. Doesn't mean I've forgotten about you though!!! Keep up the fabulous job girl!!!

Yay :D What lovely posts to come home (from the gym!!) to!

Holly: Wild rice is actually pretty easy to do. I have a mixed bag of brown and wild rice (from Waitrose, not too expensive) and you just shove a bunch in a pan and put hot water on it and check/top up with water and taste it every now and again until it's done. It's deeeelicious! Not much flavour though so you need salt/sauce or something with it rather than plain.

Thanks FortyFour :) I'm really enjoying the buzz I get from the gym!

Sillygirl (must get a new name for you, can't call you silly girl :p), I'm sorry money is too tight to go to the gym..Mine is expensive but I figure the amount of money I spend/spent on crap food..it kinda evens out I guess!!

Lauraaaa! Hey girlie :) Am SO pleased the dreaded disso is over. Was driving me mad. Still have 3 essays until total freedom but have 4 weeks to do them so no stressing for meee!

Tigs, I have missed you!! Thanks for stopping by--Have missed your updates and enthusiasm. I'm trying to get more relaxed about my "plan" but I think people like us are just past hope! We'll always be planners!! Awh well, I'm sure I'll have impulsive plans and ideas in the future..Just not right now!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Had wayyy too much sun today. Very burnt! Will post some pictures of my day. Went to view a house this morning and it was a PIT. Like, seriously horrid. So that's a no-no. And then my friend from first year of Uni rang me and asked if she can move in with me and the boys in September so I guess we'll be getting a new roomie. Not sure how I feel about it right now--I like the way things are now..But it could be fun. We'll see.

Then we went to the pub and I had a DIET coke. No booze for me! But then went and had a BBQ on the beach and had 2 burgers (600), a sausage (90) and 3 buns! (360). As well as a few bottles of beer. Needless to say the diet has not gone well today. And now I'm eating a take-out pizza. BUT I'm saving some for my night-shift tomorrow. :ack2:

AND I WENT TO THE GYM!!! 3rd day in a row :D Having tomorrow off but am planning on going the rest of the week so will have done 6 days out of 7 which will feel great. Did about 6 miles on the bike and 3 miles on the cross trainer. Not sure how much I burnt, I'm focusing more on my heart rate. Anyone know what mine should be whilst exercising as a 21 year old? I believe it's arouuuund 140? I may be completely wrong though. Want to get fit! On weds I'm going to get on the treadmill and attempt to run!!

Your maximum recommended heart rate is 220-your age so that's about 200 for you. With that info you can work out where you want to be working to. There's some theories about different 'zones' but for general health I think it's 50-80% of the maximum ... so 100-160 bmp?

You should get a heart rate monitor - they're awesome! You can fairly accurately find out out how many calories you've burnt in a gym session or any activity (gym machines are notoriously crap at working it out). I'm such a nerd :)

PS loving the beach pics, nice sunnies!

Thanks Hol, will look at getting one of those monitor thingys :D Would be good to know where I'm at right now.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So today I'm having a day off from the gym. Letting my body recover a little! Very stiff! However, I still did a 45 min walk this afternoon so that is still a good few miles of exercise :D

Breakfast: left over pizza slice (300)
Lunch: left over wild rice (150)
Dinner:
Snacks:

Total:
Exercise: 45 min walk

BBQ on the beach, I'm jealous! I can't wait for summer. I haven't been a beach girl in the past but I think this year will be different!!! Awesome job on getting to the gym three days in a row! I STILL have to try hard to convince myself to go two days in a row... for some reason I think I "need" that recovery day after only one run (and I most certainly do not, at least not usually).
