Fatty.2 : Revenge of the chub.

HI Gorgeous!! ;) Wish I could have one of your crumpets there.. LOL!!

Hope you feel better, too! I have been sick and FINALLY getting over a horrible cough with still some flem today. Tea!! Honey!! Lemon!

Plus my nan saying "You've put on weight round your face" which is always a lovely compliment boost! I told her she had a saggy chest and now we are even. Mwahahaha.

Oh my gosh, I love your comeback haha. If it makes you feel any better, one time I made a comment saying that I look a lot like my mom. My mom responded, "yeah, except for I don't have a fat face." OHHH, THANKS MOM!!! LOL gotta love family ;)

Hope you're feeling better... I got a cold right before I left for vacation... all I can say is exercise, water, and nyquil before bed! Did the trick for me :)

Take care xx

My favorite cold remedy is something we call a hot toddy. It's a warm mixture of warm water, brandy, lemon juice, and honey. Tastes yummy, makes you feel all warm and lovely so you get good, restfull (healing) sleep!

Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks everyone :) Brought lemons, honey and cold medicine on the way home from work. Missed my bus stop this morning (at 6am...blurghhh) so had to walk 1.5 miles back down the road to my stop in the pissing down rain. Needless to say I'm feeling much worse today! We lost one of our kids to swine flu about 3 weeks ago so all the parents are on edge at every sniff or cough. Don't blame them.
A little worried about doing a night shift tomorrow as my cough is awful right now and I'm sneezing an insane amount. Don't want to wake the kid up :(

Anyway, enough of the self pity. I'm off to languish in bed for an hour or so!!! :nopity:

Aww so sorry to hear about the kid with swine flu, we've had a few in the hospital at the moment with swine flu and everyone is on edge.

Hope you feel better soon though!!

Also what crumpets do you get? And do you have anything on them? 250 seems quite high for two.. I'm sure the crumpets I get are only 86 cals each.. Unless knowing me I'm reading it wrong lol

I usually get Asda's Value ones which are 35p for 8!!!! They are only 70 calories each as well so hardly anything but think Yank brought me the Kingsmill ones which are thicker and bigger and are 100 calories each :/ Sad Panda.

Do you have to have the flu jab at your work? The office have asked me to get it but when I asked my doctor they said it was up to my work to pay/organise me having it :/ And I don't really want it, to be honest. I don't trust it!!

They sure push the flu shot here too. But every year when we have gotten it, our whole family has caught every little bug that went around. It may not have been full blown flu, but it's still miserable! On the years when we have not gotten it, we manage to get thru the winter with maybe a couple of mild colds each. It just seems as if our bodies are better able to fight things off. Of course I'm big on hand washing for the kids, especially right after they come home from school. And I have bottles of hand sanitizer setting all over the place too.

I just can't help but wonder if the flu shot does more harm than good especially when I compare how often my family gets sick (rarely) to how often my sister's family gets sick. She INSISTS everyone get flu shots every year, and no one in her family seems to be able to go more than 2 weeks without coming down with something else. And not just colds either. They get the pukey, achey, fever sickness, or pneumonia quite often. I think it will take 2 lifetimes to pay off all their medical bills!

I think getting the flu shot should be a choice, not required. Just be sensible about things. Wash your hands often, and if you DO get sick, be kind by staying home and keep your germs to yourself instead of going out and spreading them around!

Hope you feel better soon!

We aren't even offered it...
Luckily I'm covered from last years jab for swine flu. Can you imagine with my medical history the state I'd be in if I got it?!
But yeah, it's not even compulsory for qualified staff etc.
They can't force you to get it, but they might be a bit mardy with you for a while if you did get it and had a while off work for example.
If you're not comfortable with it don't get it though!!

I've had a few friend who had it, Tigs, and got sick straight after :/ Don't want to risk it!!

Surprised you're not offered it, piggy--Seems like in your line of work it would be important!!

Sooooo, I'm not doing my night shift this evening. :ack2: Going to do one on Thursday or Friday to make up for it but I had a bad night and was up at 7am this morning feeling worse than yesterday so not worth going in really. Work was okay with it though.
Just languishing in bed again today--Am desperate to get better quickly..I despise being ill for too long. I hate doing nothing with my day!! I'm so bloody hungry as well. Ate 1600 calories yesterday :( Also had 5.5 litres of water though..Which is slightly insane for me.

Breakfast: 2 crumpets (250) satsuma (30) cereal bar (90)
Lunch: 2 slices WW bread (142) ham, low-fat cream cheese (50) string cheese (68) yog (100) wheat crisps (117)

I hope that you feel better soon. I've had a bad cold for over a week now and cough so much that my chest hurts. I only ever had the flu jab once and I have never been so ill as I was that winter so won't have it again although I take my dad for it each year and he manages to keep really healthy and didn't even catch what we have all just had.

They say rest is the best thing for a bad cold. Don't they also say to feed a cold and starve a fever? Or is it the other way around?

Not even sure what the heck that would do for being ill though! Hope you feel lots better real soon!

My chest is the same :( I hope you're back to full health now!!

Tigs: I'm feeding it tooooo much! The cold has taken on a life force of it's own and is now demanding insane amounts of food :(

Hereeee are some photos of my vacation :D

Thanks for sharing the photos! You look so adorable and fit and healthy! You're such a lovely, lovely girl!

*grins* YAYY :D Thanks everyone :blush5: :blush5:

Tigs, I was in a local wine producing place in Post Falls, ID. Got a little tour around and they showed me how they made everything! Was quite cool.

Well, despite still feeling like the back end of a donkey this morning, I faced the dreaded weigh in!!!!

Wasn't toooooooooo bad, actually. Considering how much shit I ate and how little I exercised I'm only up to 13 stone 1 pound. Which is only a couple pound more than I was last month. This pleases me!!

Now to drop down to 12 stone as soon as humanly possible! :p

I made a delicious dinner of stuffed chicken, potatoes and veg last night and promptly passed out and didn't eat any of it. And Yank didn't put it in the fridge so it's all ruined now. Not happy. Hate wasting food.

I made soup yesterday though! I slow-cooked it for 8 hours! It has V8 juice, tomato juice, tomatoes, mixed veg, beef broth, quorn mince and seasoning in it and it is lovely! Made enough for me and Yank to have for lunch every day this week!

Breakfast: 2 crumpets (180) -got the low cal ones!-
Lunch: home-made soup (100) wheat crisps (117)
Dinner: chips (250) half a burger (300)
Snacks: -

Total: 947

whoooooooooooooooooooop, yey sunflower, good on you for only putting back on 2lbs, wish I could have shown the same restraint. You'll have that off in no time and zoom straight past it!!

p.s. loved the pics, with all that wine around...I would have done some serious damage lol x
