Weight loss is nothing new to me, I lost 30 kilos about 6 years ago and after saying the same old thing "I'll never go back to that weight", here I am.

Having said that here's my story.

Last year I hit 91 kilos and totally freaked out, well I joined a gym and started to lose weight, I lost 8 kilos in a few months, I was amazed that i didn't lose more, I was eating less, drinking water, exercising 5 or 6 days a week and that was my weight loss, a lousy 8 kilos.

Then I noticed that my hair was falling out and I was so tired all the time, well I had a blood test and my thyroid was virtually non-existant. I had an underactive thyroid. So now I know that I did work hard for my 8 kilos.

So after being on medication for the past 6 months my last blood test showed that my thyroid was almost normal, I am now at 79 kilos, I am back at the gym and am hoping that I can get to my final goal weight of 60 kilos.

Starting Weight - 80kgs
Current Weight - 79kgs
First Mini Goal - 75kgs
Final Goal Weight - 60kgs

Went to the gym today and did a 1 hour body vibe class, and 15 minutes on the treadmill.

Today is also the first day that I am reducing the size of my meals, It will be hard for the first week or so, but I know I will get used to it. I've also started to drink more water so hopefully that will help.

Sunday- My rest day.

Monday - Went to the gym and did 40 minutes on the bike, wanted to go on the treadmill aswell but it was busy.

Today I went for a one hour walk in the morning.

Went to the gym in the afternoon, I did 30 minutes on the bike and 15 minutes on the treadmill.

I am doing a twelve week intensive course with my gym, this is starting on February 1st. I signed up for my first personal training session and the introduction of my eating plan, I can't wait for it to start. :hurray:

Wednesday

Went on an hour and a half walk in the morning.

In the afternoon I went to the gym and did 30 minutes on the treadmill and 15minutes on the bike.

I worked out how many calories I was eating and with my exercise it was under the recommended daily allowance, so will have to be careful and eat enough. I'm sure this will be sorted out when i begin my challenge.

I had some chocolate today but i'm not going to let it bother me, just carry on.

Monday Weigh In

Lost a kilo this week, i'm now 78 kilos.

Just plodding along with my exercise, didn't do any exercise on the weekend, had KFC on sunday, it's hard to eat out when you are watching what you eat.

Yesterday and today went to the gym, did 30 minutes on the bike and 15 minutes on the treadmill. Couldn't do my morning walk as it was raining, hopefully tomorrow.

Starting Weight - 80kgs
Current Weight - 78kgs
Weight Loss So Far - 2kgs
First Mini Goal - 75kgs
Final Goal Weight - 60kgs

I went on my 1 hour walk this morning, luckily it wasn't raining.

Went to the gym, did 15 minutes on the treadmill and 15 minutes on the bike. Went to see the nutritionist re my weightloss challenge. Discussed the eating plan and the foods that I will be eating and how to combine them effectively. I was weighed, but am a bit shocked that my scales are so far out. I was weighing at home 78kgs and when I got weighed today I was 82.1 kgs, so who's are right. I guess I will have to go with the gyms scales as I will be following that for the challenge, so I will have to adjust my weight.

Starting Weight - 82.1kgs
Current Weight - 82.1kgs
First Mini Goal - 75kgs
Final Goal Weight - 60kgs

I feel like i've just gained 5 kilos.

Well I am nearly 2 weeks into my 12 week program, I am exercising heaps eating normal portions and drinking between 2 and 2.5 litres of water a day.

I lost 1 kilo in the first week and 1/2 a kilo in the second week. I was a bit disappointed with this as I am really trying, but I am also building muscle, so I guess I will have to wait for another couple of weeks until I get measured to see if I am really losing weight.

I really want to get into the 70's hopefully I will be there next week.

Starting Weight - 82.1kgs
Current Weight - 80.6kgs
First Mini Goal - 75kgs
Final Goal Weight - 60kgs

I got to the gym this morning and did a body vive class. it's a really good class as it works everything so you feel like you get an all over workout.

For the past week I have been using a 2% fat milk for my breakfast, down from a full fat milk and I really can't tell the difference, I am really hoping that it will make a difference on the scale. Also changed to no carbs after 4 o'clock, and I am feeling alot better, no more blah feeling, just feeling lighter.

bb later.

Well i got weighed in today and i am rather disappointed by a 300 gram loss. With all the work that I have been doing and eating right I couldn't believe it. Every one said that it is a loss so thats what I have to work with.

Starting Weight - 82.1kgs
Current Weight - 80.3kgs
First Mini Goal - 75kgs
Final Goal Weight - 60kgs

And so I begin again. :ack2:

In the 2 years I have been away I got down to about 68 kilos and now I am back up to the mid 80's again.

I can't believe this has happened again, you would think that after a year of going to the gym and eating healthy meals, that I would have learned how to live my life better. Obviously I haven't.

Well, I will be joining the gym again at the end of april, until then I will be trying to get my eating under control and slowly starting to move again.

Aargh I feel like such a failure, but at least I can admit it and move on.

So I decided to dig out my food and exercise journal from the gym and have decided to start on 1700 calories.

What I can eat

Carbohydrates - 7
Proteins - 5
Dairy - 4
Fruits - 4
Vegetables - 5
Fats - 2
Misc - 1

I then go to a list which gives examples of what I can eat to get these totals.

An Example day.

Breakfast - 2 Carbs, 1 dairy, 1 fruit
Snack 1 - 2 Dairy, 1 fruit
Lunch - 2 Carbs, 1 protein, 1 vegetable, 1 fat, 1 fruit
Snack 2 - 1 Fruit, 1 dairy
Dinner - 3 carbs, 4 proteins, 4 veges, 1 fat, 1 misc

Have to go shopping tomorrow.

Don't think of your setback as a failure Aus, think of it as a heroic stand against Colonel Sanders. Remember the food industry pays billions in commercials to get you to put junk food in your mouth. Keep strong and remember that it's ok to fail, just get back up.

Thanks Dellarocco. Am also taking a stand against that fizzy brown stuff, that is one thing that I was addicted to, but after the maybe link with cancer, that put a stop to that. Ah well, any way we can get to stop ingesting the bad stuff.

5'4, about 88 kilos

If you were at an ideal weight now, what would that weight be?
Probably about 65 kilos

I lost 30 kilos in 8 months just by walking and healthy eating

Why do you believe that you did not lose weight or you gained the weight back?

I've decided to count calories first until I get sick of it. I got a free account at the daily plate and put in my info and it said I have to eat about 1739 calories.

This is what I ate today.

Breakfast - 3 Weetbix, 1 serving 2% milk, 1 tsp sugar
Snack 1 - Milky way
Lunch - Homemade Chilli Con Carne, 1 Serving rice
Snack 2 - 2 plums, 4 Vita-weat with 1 serving cream cheese
Dinner - 2 slices homemade pizza, 1 glass of apple juice.

About 1 litre of water (this will have to increase)

Not much exercise just worked in walking during my day.

This came to just over 1700 calories.

I'm surprised that I have felt less hungry today, I really need the discipline of knowing what I eat during the day.

Not bad but it would be interesting to see what your protein intake was because looking at your food it is probably a bit low.

Trusylver thanks for dropping by. I still have a lot to work out so will have to look at this as I plan my meals.

I had a look at my protein intake for yesterday and it was just over my recommended daily allowance.
