Extreme Makeover: Brandon Edition

My friends and I are VERY close but I feel like we are becoming distant because of the time I spend in the gym.

I understand that I need to make sacrifices and I am okay with that. However, I would trade NOTHING for my friendships.

Any advice?

If there true friends, they will be there for you no matter what.

I spent nearly a year away from most of my very close friends, got strongly addicted to weed and started getting depression, and because they all smoked, just had to get out of that enviroment..there were still there for me when I sorted myself out, and Im sure your friends will be too.

Do I smell updated pics coming soon?

Gotta agree with Conkel, you are making amazing strides!!

When are we gonna get some COD5 on the go then young sir?!

Not sure about the time difference between us, might cause some problems!!
Out of curiosity, what time is it where you are? Its 5:49mp here :)

Updated pics are very near. Possibly after the new year. When I go to Dallas for Christmas, I will also be in Isla Blanca (Cancun) to fish. I am sure I will get some pictures there.

Right now, it is 11:53 in the morning.

Balancing anything can be tough. You are trying to balance time with friends while i am balancing family, friends, gym and work and it can be tough. Everyone seems to be crazy busy lately and it sucks.

The key is time management and planning. I always tell my friends, especially the single ones that dont have so much to juggle, advanced warning and planning is appriciated. The further out they can tell about an event the more likely i can plan for it. Adjust the rest of my day to make sure i can make it. Either go to the gym early or do a couple kick ass work outs on the day before or day after.

Believe me, after my family the gym (and my healthy lifestyle) comes next. I dont think i could have obtained my goals without putting the gym first. Did i miss some parties or events? Sure, but do i feel great? Abso-f'in-lutely. Would i change anything? No chance.

With some time management you can certainly balance everything.

By the way, you are do a kick ass job on the weight loss and keep it up. Hope this helps.

Matt

Looking forward to seeing your progress in the flesh so to speak.

Mkay, well thats a pretty big time difference, but Im sure we can work it sometime.

Let me know when your next planning a marathon session and I'll see what can be done!! :)

As Syn said if they are your friends they should understand that you're doing this to better yourself and it's not to get away from them. Maybe try inviting them to the gym sometime though, share the activity with them... if they're out of shape you can make it a group thing and support each other with having a healthier life.

Wow. So I just saw your post up on the board and decided to check in and man you are amazing! You are like a biggest loser episode! Seriously inspirational! I can't believe how well you are doing and sticking with it. I've only lost ten pounds and you are kicking my ass!

Keep with it and good job!

Hey thanks!

Ten pounds is a lot considering your starting weight! You probably know that the "Biggest Loser" deals mainly with % lost... Your 10 pounds would equal almost 5.5%! That is awesome. Keep it up.

Vacation is over... : (

Well... I am back from Cancun/Dallas. Although going from 85 degree weather to 5 degree weather sucks, I am glad to be back and get back into the swing of things.

I had a great time and actually ate very well. I was also able to get my workouts done at a '24 Hour Fitness' and 'Gold's Gym'. These gyms were amazing. I felt like a first-timer with all of the equipment they had available.

I need to catch up on journals. Hopefully I will get to that soon.

Hope everyone is well.

(I did, however, miss two weigh-ins. My next weigh-in will be on Monday the 12th.)

Although my numbers from this week are lower than normal, I am not discouraged at all. That 1.6 lbs will never be seen again. :D For the past two weeks or so I have been drinking a protein shake for breakfast... So maybe that is the reason for my odd numbers.

I started a new cardio workout lastnight. I read the article in Muscle & Fitness, which is called "Ironclad Cardio". I decided to start on "beginner"... and let me tell you, I sure looked like a beginner. This thing whooped my ass! I was sweating like no other. It is a great circuit training routine with weights. Here is the link:

They also have a pdf file available.

Hope everyone is well! :D

I am considering lowering my goal weight to 200 lbs. I will chew on it some more when I reach 220.

Hope everyone is well.
