Is this a bike you're considering buying? or have you bought it already? What is the manufacturer/model? The best bike will be the one you'll use - if you've tried it out and liked it (the ride, the bike's construction etc) then I'd say go for it. You also might want to invest in some dumbbells for strength training (and if needed a bench or stability ball).

I did most of my cardio on the ellipticals at the gyms I've been at - started at 344lbs, now down to around 258, using cardio (ellipticals) and strength (dumbbells) training. Good luck and keep a diary - would be interested in following your progress.

congratulations man, you've done the hardest part, making the commitment to change. Now when you say you plan on "going slow on everything including diet" what do you mean by this? Does this mean you only plan to change your diet slowly?

While I know it will be a great shock to your system, i suggest drastically changing the diet all at once. For one reason BECAUSE it is a shock to the system. There is nothing more effective when it comes to fat loss than shocking the system as youll see along the road you are about to take. Your body will try to grow accustomed to what you throw at it. You gotta keep it surprised.

Also because i know how easy it is to slip back into old habits. I've been dieting on and off for about 8 years with varying degrees of success. But one thing remained constant. I never commited fully to the change. I always had 1 foot out the door. Maybe you have stronger will power than me, but i knew what i had to do. I had to change everything and commit fully to my lifestyle change.

I'm not syaing this is the only way to do things. Just letting you know what worked for me. No one knows you better than you.

Everyone is here to help so feel free to ask any questions at all. I wish you the best of luck bro.
