I think evolution is good enoguh for explaining how humans evolved. I also think that when early hominoids began to walk on two legs it freed up the hands so they could do labour which gave rise to the massive intelligence homo sapiens have. There are of course many other factors etc... but I think this is the most dominant one

What I meant by my previous statement was that stating God's existence to be absolute is ignorance. Therefore stating that he doesn't exist in an absolute manner is also ignorance. This is simply derived from the fact that we've [human beings] got a long way of discoveries ahead of us before we can make absolute statements about this matter.

The most finite turning point in our evolution was when our bodies developed sweat glands and we no longer had to pant through our mouths to maintain our temperatures. This freed our mouths for purposes other than eating or drinking and created the ability to evolve speech, not just grunts gestures or early forms of sign language. Coupled with a growing intellect and an ability to digest mutliple forms of vegetation and meat(unlike most apes whose jaws and digestive systems are selective)we thrived.

In my opinion it's the best theory we have. I don't believe in any religions, for the reason of different stories, with their own apparent 'evidence'. For all we know the Greek gods might have created us, we could use 'Homer's Illiad' as one of our sources. I think evolution is on the right path, even if we didn't evolve from monkeys.

im confused about how the earth came to be...i understand how God is hard to believe because if you just keep on going back in time....who created God? If God created colors, and the universe where was he and what was he doing b4 he created the earth? He's just a spirit so i guess He was just floating around in nothing...doing nothing...forever.... until he created us? Nothing makes sense to me now. And on the other hand, i dont understand how a super nova(or whatever it is) blew up and created the earth and life.
Don't be confused, as God isn't easy to understand. There are verses like "Blessed are those you "have not seen" yet still believe" in the bible that tells you that you are not going to understand him until the end of times.
God always was without a beginning can really throw you, and evolutionist use it to disprove his exsistence, and it sounds as far fetched as "Big Bang" just remember if there was a Big Bang, where did that come from.

We take it as a 24 hour day, which reminds me of another quote "God's thoughts are not our thoughts" It would be easy for God to show himself and say Hey man here I am, but that wouldn't give you any free will would it? You as a human like me have choices, which are yes or no, that's what you are talking about here. Look up at the night sky sometime and look at all the wonders and think to yourself, did this really happen by chance, or did someone create this.

What are they teaching in American schools about creation? Here in England they teach a bit of evolution in science, but we can't get into questions. There is a boy in my form who is utterly screwed up by creation. He thinks the world is 6,000 years old and was created in 1 week. Then when you say to him, "there is evidence proving the ice age and what not" he just goes on about scientists having no idea, and proving each other wrong. Try telling someone like that that his parents have messed him up. To add insult to injury he is one of those people who thinks everyone who doesn't believe what he believes in God is going to hell. An eternal burning ect, ect. Why would God so loving and peaceful do that? The bible states revenge is bad, so if somebody doesn't believe in him/her/it, does that give him the right to torture them? Personally I think it is sick. If you stick a child into a Muslim community they are obviously going to be Muslim, but if you stick a child into a Christian community they are most likely going to be Christian, why should some people go to 'hell' because they believe what they grew up to believe.
Finally, to me religion sounds like something people would have invented as soon as humans could think enough. When you/or your husband/dad/brother is going off to war, or getting sick you would need something to make you feel better. I think that Heaven and hell are just two things which were invented to make people less scared of death and to keep people inline.
