Even the most spectacular blaze is ignited by a single spark...

Love the recent pics, ladies!

Luz and Sparked, you are definitely the type of girls I would've been too shy to even make eye contact around had we been going to school together. You two are soo pretty!

I should post my own grade school photos, hah. :p I was quite a little pork chop back then though. I actually put them up on my facebook for my friends from that era to see as well, but it was a class photo, so I wasn't singled out - we were all pretty goofy looking back then.
smile.gif

Oh, and Sparked, I know all too well about that particular MMORPG :ack2: Good lord, I spent sooooooo much time in that game. Let's just say I had quite a 'beefy' druid that loved to do battlegrounds and arena. :p My roommate played as well, although now I think he'd rather have his prostate checked than spend 1 more second playing that game - he hates it with a vengeance. lol

He's now a Playstation 3 trophy addict, so he basically went from the frying pan into the fire. /forehead slap

It's awesome that you're a gamer type though! Nothing wrong with that
smile.gif
My PC needs such an upgrade though.. ugh. I don't even think I'll be able to run Diablo 3 effectively :\ I spend most of my gamer moments atm in counter-strike source right now. I like FPS since you can just jump into any game at any time and leave at the drop of a hat. There's no responsibility or commitment, which is such a free feeling when coming from an MMORPG that always has you relying on other people and just so time consuming.

And Luz, I haven't yet given up the battle to keep my hair straight. :p I have naturally curly hair and it's all I can do from looking like a crazy person some days. I have a straightener (yes, I do!) that I use, along with some other hair-care products. Sabino's Lok and Blok is a thing of (expensive) beauty!

Grrrrr me and my scale are not friends this week! After kicking my butt hardcore for the last 5 days I was hoping to see some (any?) loss, but nope nothing, it's even up a little to 230.6 :) So maybe I can write it off as muscle gain? Probably too soon for that, I think.

I've felt like I was losing though so I took a picture, the first one is 238.6, so my question is: Is this what 8lbs looks like? Does it look like more than that? Less? Am I freaking out over nothing? ...Probably. Time to just take my own advice and wait it out.

I did P90X day 3 today: shoulders, arms, and abs (if today was arms then what were the 9,000 push ups the other day for? Ohhh chest and back, could have fooled me!) The shoulders and arms were actually pretty manageable, some new ideas on form and moves I have never seen before and I got out of it with just a little soreness. The abs however... hello! It's only 16 minutes but my abs were on fire the whole time, doing gravity defying moves and holding crazy poses.. I wasn't sure if I was following an ab workout or auditioning for Cirque du Soleil... no joke. But, I was proud of myself because I pretty much kept up the whole time, I only had to take a break in between reps maybe two times when it got to be a little much. Tomorrow's yoga and I'm pretty pumped, I've been doing yoga for a while now so I'm excited to see what the P90X program does to it.

So we're getting pretty well into November here and I'm really starting to feel a lot of anxiety about the holidays!! I'm going to visit my mom and step-dad in Alabama for Thanksgiving and I know there is going to be a ton of food, in a comfortable setting, and well... old habits die hard. Also, my mom doesn't really have the best eating habits and every year lives by the expressions, "it's ok, it's the holidays, you have to celebrate, we start on New Year's!" So yeah, worried I'm going to eat too much on the holiday that's all about eating :p At least they have a gym at their house, so hopefully I can spend some time there and less time raiding a fully stocked fridge.

Aww, thanks Frogged! :) You should totally put yours up! I think everyone should come post their childhood pics! :D Although I don't think I would have the courage to pull out grade school.... chubby cheeks for daaaays! (wow, I use a lot of exclamation marks)

Ok, I don't even know what it is about ... that game.. but it's beyond ridiculous how addicting it can be and how much time you spend on there doing absolutely nothing! I always figured at least it takes two hands to play which means I can't eat while I'm playing! hahaha "beefy" druid .......... I had a priest of extremely short stature :p... opposite side, I always like to be the good guy :)

Ahh, PS3, hope he like's his auto-aim ;)

You're so right about the easy access aspect of FPS's. You can say I'm just going to play for 15 minutes and actually do it! I've been getting back into TF2 which I used to be good at and then stopped playing and now I really just suck... and since everyone's on voice there, that usually means I'm getting yelled at too! :p .... no one yelled at me in that other game... although that could have more to do with that fact that you can't make a girl character in TF2...

Curly hair is hell to tame! I'm a Bumble and Bumble girl all the way! ;)

I'll be waiting on that pic! ;)

I'm even taller than my dad) and bigger. Everyone in my family is petite! My older sister is a US 0 and my mum would be a 2-4. (My sis is like an Aus size 4 and my mum an 8, they're little weeny creatures! And like only 5"4-5"5). So I felt like the odd one out till I just learned to embrace it. I love my hair, and my height, and dressing boho-ish while the rest of my family is more stylish... I like being an individual!

Anyway I'm fully hijacking your thread, sorry about that!

Which day of the week do you weigh in? (Or record an 'official' weigh in?)

Haha yeah, back when I lived at home and had someone to pay for salon trips, I was a little bit of a blonde-aholic! :p Oh man, decent haircut. I remember in sophomore year when those super short, flipped out haircuts were all the rage, I had to be like everyone else and I chopped my super long hair off up above my shoulders... thing poofed out like a giant mushroom cloud, it was bad... it was then that I realized I had to keep it long and ignore the trends. It would be hard growing up with women like that, I'm an only child so I only had my mom to compare to, but she's 7 inches shorter than me so I always think we looked like such an odd family! She is a tiny, tiny woman when she has her weight down, but it fluctuates a lot. I've definitely grown to love my hair as well... working on the height, but I'm getting there!

It's always super fun when you post, hijack away! ;)

I usually weigh on Sundays, I'm doing the Christmas challenge right now and the weigh in is on Tuesdays so I'm moving it to then for now... mainly because I looked on Sunday and didn't like what I saw, so I'm gonna give it two more days and hope for the best!!

Ok, first off, you look really good! I can totally see the difference and you're rocking it, Sparked! :hurray:

Now, as for your gain, it may be slight muscle gain judging from your P90X workouts! That stuff is something I'm even afraid to touch right now, although I probably should. Recently, for the first time in my life, I'm getting goofed on for looking a little scrawny, lol. Ah well, I'll take this over receiving indications that I may want to start looking for a 'man bra' for my moobies back when I was heavier :p

lol, ok, anyway. 1 pound of fat is a LOT of mass to lose in your body. Have you seen what a single pound of fat looks like in comparison to something? Take a look at this photo here:

It's about the size of a coffee mug! Imagine that x8 and that's how much you've lost in those recent pics - phenomenal!

Where we specifically lose it first is different for everybody. I see posts sometimes asking how one can target individual points on their body for weight loss, but you can't do that. The only way to lessen specific areas of your body is to decrease your overall body fat percentage. For example, right now, my upper body and lower body are pretty good, but my mid-section is still problematic. So, I'm just going to keep plugging away until that looks better too

Again, awesome pics! Your bf is a very lucky man!

Ahhh, so you were Alliance.. Booo. :p Although I do like gnomes - specifically the little death squeals they made when I stomped on them with my hooves ;)

Never really got into TF2 though. My cousins play it, but I just stuck with the oldie but goldie Cstrike. I've been playing it forever, since the beta days years before Source was developed

Ok, well I guess I'll provide the pics since you asked.

My apologies, but here's my momentary hijack of your diary thread, Sparked  I promise that it'll be the only one (unless you give future permission for me to do so)

I'll probably regret this later, but I can safely say I'm getting rather used to posting dopey pictures of myself on these forums, haha! :p

Here are my grade school pics.. oy.. lol.

Of course, the teachers loved me! If there was an award for 'Teacher's Pet', I'd claim it yearly

These next two are kind of cool because they're of me and my roommate. We've been friends since 1st grade, so we pretty much grew up together. Although we didn't go to the same high school, we kept in touch. Now we live under the same roof, although it'll probably be temporary as he's working to complete his RN boards, then he'll probably be moving to Philadelphia.

Here we are totally sweeping the Science Fair competition with our awesome 3D project! We got a trophy too - which I still have in my closet, heh

And here we are in 1st grade. I swear I didn't make this photo green, it's just super old and the scanner picked up green elements I guess? I dunno.

Yeah, we've been friends forever. Just like in those pics, he still towers over me by about a foot! I feel like a shrimp next to him, haha. He also grew to be taller than our teachers by about 7th grade. He's like Bigfoot :p

Ok, so yeah, enjoy my awkwardness!

My high school year books are somewhere in my house. I don't have those scanned on my computer, but maybe someday I will if anybody is in need of a good laugh.

Sparked I think there's a massive difference in the two pics! You're stomach has flattened out heaps and your waist is much more defined. Are you taking measurements too?? Definitely get onto it if you're not! It's good having something other than the scale to measure how well you're going. I've set a weight goal and measurement goals so I have heaps to aim for, though not expecting a big drop in cms this month with all the sitting around doing nothing!

Haha also on the hair thing- my mum decided one particularly hot summer we would all get our hair cut short (I was 7 at the time I think) and of course everyone else looked fine, but I had a fro that took about 6 months to grow out. Ick. Oh, and while it was growing out it turned into a mullet before it was long enough to tie up again!

And Frogged- aww you were such a cute lil kid!

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww thanks guys!!!! :D You all just increased my motivation at least 200X more! ;) It's hard to see a difference when you see yourself day in and day out, I know I obsess waaaaay too much over what the scale says and I need to chill on that a bit. I"ve been doing measurements, but I feel like I'm doing them just a little differently every time, I need to find a way to ensure I'm more consistent.

Not gonna share the mullet pics huh? ;) hehe What kind of measurement goals do you set for yourself? I really have no clue what a realistic goal would be.

Oh my goodness, look at little Frogged! That's just ridiculously adorable! I just got home from a super long, could have gone better day and that completely brightened it up! Feel free to hijack my thread anytime with things as entertaining as that! I went looking for some elementary school pics, but my mom has them all, all I've got are the age 4 and unders.

That's pretty cool that you and your roommate have been friends for so long. My mom was always getting new promotions in new states and moving us around, so I don't have any friendships that long, you guys must have some great memories... and tons of blackmail on the other! ;)

Thanks for pumping up my ego the nice compliments ;) and for that incredibly disgusting picture of fat! ;) I was simultaneously in awe and yet completely grossed out at the same time! To think of all the "coffee mugs" I've lost makes me feel pretty dang proud... but then wow, that's a lot of coffee mugs to go! Oh well, one mug at a time ;)

You would totally tear up P90X! The first day was hard for me because it's a ton of push ups and my upper body is definitely my weakest, and the day two plyo was super intense, but still doable, and all the other days have been just the perfect level of challenging. I've been looking everywhere for someone to do it with, if you're interested in starting it, it'd be awesome to do it with you! I borrowed it from a friend and I bet I could find a way to send it to you -- wait-- is that illegal? I mean just kidding! (just message me about it ;))

Thanks again for the great post, I really enjoyed it!

P.S. were you I still playing, I'd take your druid down so fast, you wouldn't know what hit ya! ;)

Haaaaaaaaahahaha I'm a little afraid to pull out the mullet pics... also, it requires me scanning them onto the comp, which would require me downloading the necessary drivers for it... can't be bothered right now, hahaha. Maybe on the weekend!

I set measurements based on how I know my body loses weight. I'm very hourglass-y (even though when I'm bigger you can't really tell) so pretty much always my bust and hips are the exact same measurement, and my waist is exactly 20cms smaller. So I go off what I got down to when I was 18... I was exercising a lot back then, and I got down to around 62kgs and my measurements were pretty much 90-70-90 (cms) so that's my aim for the moment (which I'll probably actually have to get to my full weight goal to achieve since I'm not exercising at all right now). Thighs I go off an averages chart that I used to use when I worked in a gym- back then we measured the thickest part (right under your butt) and we kind of had cm categories... lower than 51cms up to 56cms was slender, 56cms-64cms was muscular. Can't remember how the averages were calculated or anything... but I remember getting down to 56 and being all OMG, SLENDER! Haha so that's how I set that one. (We used to have measurement cards to help members set goals as the gym I worked at was more focussed on measurement and BF% goals over weight) I don't set one for my arms, because sometimes when I'm lifting, especially last year when I was routinely doing heavy benches and 80kg deadlifts etc while I was studying, my arms either stay the same or even bump up a bit. So I let them do their own thing! Right now they are just squishy! So yea, I set my goals by what I know my body does. Back then though, I'd look up the average measurements for the size I'd want to be and that would be it... little less realistic for me though because even when I'm small, I'm busting out the curves like nobodies business! The smallest proper bra I've ever own was a C cup and I was 11 years old! Oh, and my brief skinny time when I was 13-14 (got down to around 55kg at one point) I was still a D. My hips have never really been a problem either, but I'm always fairly bootylicious too lol.

I guess no one knows your body better than you... if you've been taking your measurements over a period of time you might start to notice a pattern emerging, like there's always a certain amount of inches/cms (whatever you measure in) difference between your bust and hips, or waist. When you lose weight you keep the same body shape, it just gets smaller... so maybe set a goal in that way!

I'm rambling like crazy today, haha!! That's what tiredness and too much food does to my brain :jump:

lol, ok ok.. I was a little chubster back then, you can admit it. :blush5: But thank you for being so nice - and for editing them out of your quote! hehe. No need to post those silly things a second time. :p

I'm glad it made your day a bit better! Anything my awkwardness can do to help, I'm all for (within reason of course).

Hmmm, I will look into P90X. I have my methods of acquiring it, but thanks for the offer to 'provide' me with it. ;) I'll let you know when I have it!

The coffee mug pic was also a big eye opener for me too! 190 of those I've lost so far!.. good gravy. I don't even know how I was carrying that much on me for so long! :ack2:

Oh, and.. NO! My druid ate little gnomes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack! Want a gander at my awesome bovine? hehe, behold! http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/bleeding-hollow/Frogy/simple

And yes, I made my own guild called <Druid>, because we druids are a very awesome class and prefer to only consort with our own kind. Druids only in my guild! Although most (aka everyone) of the druids I had recruited have /gquit due to my absence. I must confess that I did renew my account not long ago (only for a month) just to kill a bit of time when I was super bored one evening. I just wanted to see some of the new changes and try my hoof at PvP again.

Ah, c'mon Luz - let's see 'em! And thank you so much for the compliments about my grade school pics, lol :p Awkward, goofy times. Though I wouldn't mind re-living that era. Lots of good memories and friends. High school though.. no way. I'd do anything to avoid re-living my years in high school.

Curvy women are the best! I really don't like it when a woman tries to go too skinny and fit in with the 'hollywood-type' figure where it's just.. bones, I guess? It just seems so much unhealthier :)

Have either of you seen this picture? Hopefully it's not too revealing for the forums, but I think it's interesting and holds truth.

The one in the middle (while attractive) just isn't as appealing to me as the other two, but that's just my humble little opinion.

Anyway, thank you both again for the kind words and hope you're all doing well!

Hey lady, how are you going?? Hope you're doing well, just thought I'd check in as you haven't posted for a few days. Hope you had a great weekend!!

AHHH what a weekend! Friday was a Holiday which meant that I would have had 4 day weekend, something I have been looking forward to for a looooong time, but that kind of got interrupted because a small (or not so small :p) financial crisis popped up. So I spent my weekend scouring Craig's list for random people's homes to clean and kids to babysit -- anything I can do to avoid asking my parents for money! Still need to find another $200 somewhere, but there is a store around the corner that buys used video games so I'm hoping I can unload all the Wii games that I've finished and are just sitting around.

All of this has just made me super eager to just get out of school! Living hand-to-mouth for so long can be really stressful, and it's hard to pursue an advanced degree when everyone else my age is making and enjoying their money. I'm really passionate about what I study, I picked epigenetics because it's at the forefront of cancer research and innovation (something that is very personal to me), but I'm ready to actually do something now, just let me get in there and cure cancer already! ;) (oh, and maybe not be flat broke while I do it, that would be awesome too!)

Anyway, I just looked up and was reminded that this says "weight loss diary" and I've gone completely off topic!

Today was day two, week two of P90X, back to plyometrics which officially just tore my ass up again! (but, um, in a good way? ;) ) Yesterday was the second time that I did the chest and back video and I noticed a really big difference, you're supposed to write down the number of reps you can do for each exercise and mine increased by about 4 reps on all 24 exercises! I would have never though to write that stuff down, but it's a great idea, it really lets you see the growth and small improvements that are easy to miss when I'm crying through the pain feeling the burn. ;)

Friday was my rest day and it took everything I had to not just redo one of the workouts! I felt a little off being inactive, but also I was worried because I am really bad with breaks. If I keep doing something straight without stopping then I do really well with keeping a consistent schedule, but when I stop, it's really hard for me to get going again -- this is one of the reasons I can't fit a cheat day into my diet, it's really hard for me to get back in the swing of things. But, I knew I had worked the gosh darn heck out of my muscles for 6 days and they needed to repair and grow. It actually worked out well because I still wanted to do a little something so I convinced my bf to go on a walk with me, which was good for him seeing as he'd been on his butt ALL day playing Skyrim. I also made a deal with him that he would do P90X if I was able to finish all 90 days, so now the pressure is on, I've really got to follow through with the entire ass kicking program!

Last night when I weighed in, my weight had gone down so I knew I would see a good number in the morning. I woke up at 6 AM because I was like a kid at Christmas anticipating all his awesome gifts from Santa, I was just too excited to sleep -- I had to see!! The scale was down to 226.6 which is 4.4lbs down from last Sunday! I was pretty happy with that :D And relieved to see that I was losing, even if my body hadn't been showing it on the scale.

Oh, and random story, yesterday when I got home, my bf came to greet me and I noticed that he was wearing my jeans (no, this isn't one of those kinds of stories.) So when I asked him why he was wearing my jeans, he said he hadn't realized! (actually he said, "ooohhh I wondered why they were so tight in the crotch!" lol) But, and it sounds kinda ridiculous, I was just really pleased that my jeans actually stayed up on my skinny boyfriend! I remember that happened once before when my jeans weren't quite as small and he picked them up by accident, he looked at me and said, "oh, these aren't my jeans" as he held them out from his waist in a total Jared from Subway after shot kinda way - ugh I was mortified!

More P90X tomorrow, kinda pumped! :D

Haha, convenient story about the scanner! I had thought about setting my measurement goals to my goal size, but I find the measurements they use for the sizes aren't accurate for me. If I were to just go off my measurements, the size chart puts me at a size that is 4 dress sizes up from the one I'm at now!! And I'm not pouring myself into this size either, so I'm not really sure what's going on there. There's something called the Venus Index which says what your ideal measurements should be given your height and it says that my ideal is a 27 inch waist and 38.5 inch hips (68.5 cm waist, 96.5 cm hips) and that's something to keep in mind, although I've never been that small so I have no idea if that's too small! (That's kind of the hardest part here is that I don't really have anything to base it off of since I've never been a healthy weight :p) I can't believe that 1. you were a C cup at age 11 O.O .. I was flat as a board until I starting taking the pill at 18 and then everything just kind of worked itself out! and 2. that you were down to 55kg! I know you said you're tall but I'm not sure if you are as tall as I am (5'11), but I don't think I could ever get down to that, that is tiny!

I hadn't even thought of a possibility of a trend so I will have to check that out and see if I can see something going on there. This has been super helpful thaaaaanks! :D

AHHH there's naked women in my thread!!! hehe jk, and see, I always edit the pictures out, just because it makes it shorter, you really were a cute kid!

lol yeah, your awesome bovine would have eaten me alive, I didn't get that well geared because I pooped out shortly after hitting 85, (you can look if you want, she's not impressive but she is cute! http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/darrowmere/Lilpumpkin/simple) but by that point my bf and I just wanted to do bg's and arena so we switched to a private server so we weren't paying monthly for something we hardly used.

Thanks for the picutre, I haven't seen it before and it is interesting. Although, while it makes me relieved to hear your opionions about it, I'm kind of curious as to who they've been asking, because most the men I know would go for the one in the center. I'm aiming for an 8 which would fit happily in between the two, so maybe then I can make everyone happy! ;)

Yeah, P90X, "acquire" it! ;)

Awww thanks for checking on me! :D I'm doing good, I was just crazy busy!!!! Now I'm gonna go catch up on your awesome diary! ;)

Congrats on the MEGA loss this week!!! 4.4lbs is AMAZING! :hurray:

Oh yea, I'm hearing you on 'standard' measurements being way out. I'll NEVER forget, I think it was for my husbands school ball... we'd just started going out, and he asked me to go with him. I was a fair bit bigger back then, and local stores sold ball dresses up to a size 14... I couldn't find one that did all the way up in the zipper because of my boobs. Blah. So my mum ended up making me one- but when she did my measurements for the pattern, it came up as recommending me to be a size 20!! I convinced my mum that NO WAY am I that huge, so we bought the size 12-16 pattern and really used most of the 12 and incorporated the bigger top part from the 14 and it fit perfect. Standard sizing is munted, lol.

I fully agree with you that being a student is rough... I only did it for 6 months and couldn't do it after that as the interest rates went up and our mortgage started to kill us... so had to go back to working full time. I was baking in a supermarket back then too, so Thu and Fri I would work 4am-8am then have classes from 9am... also worked all day every Sat and Sun, and classes were Mon-Fri 9am-4pm. So I had no social life and no time or money to do anything! Struggling a bit at the moment too, really need to do our unit up so we can rent it out but because I can't work full days again yet it's ended up being a pretty big cut in our income. Boo, money can be a downer!

Heya Ms. Spark :) CONGRATS on the 4.4lb!  Woo! That's phenomenal! :hurray:

Sounds like a pretty good weekend you had - aside from the monetary crisis ;(

Also, sorry for posting the nudie pics in your diary! tehe, but it's all in the best interest of weight loss (I swear!) ;D

The more you describe the effects of P90X, the more scared (yet interested) I become. I definitely know I need to bulk up. I look like such a little dweeb in my current monthly progress pictures :( My arms are so sad, so I need to do something more than the light amount of push-ups I've been doing. Plus, I have to figure out more routines with the 35lb kettle bell my uncle gave me a few months ago.

Oh, and I'm currently 'acquiring' P90X from 'the store', Sparks ;) Hey, are you aware there is a P90X 2 out apparently? Hmmmm..

lol, had to laugh at your boyfriend wearing your jeans! 'Not that kinda story', eh? Maybe saving it for a different forum then, are ya? heh ;p

Ok, enough silliness :) It may take some time to finish 'installing' P90X, but once I do, I'll let you know. It's going to kill me, I know it :(

Your gnome is cute. Typical :) Though I guess that always made me feel a little bad when I killed one.. unless of course they were dominating me in a prior fight, then I'm all about stomping that cute little face into the ground :D hehe. Nothing like having something 1/8th your size completely smoke you in a fight. Erf. Shadow priests used to do that to me pretty good now and then. My poor cow couldn't even run at times because of the mana drain negating my ability to shapeshift :(

Yeah, I'm not sure the type of men that were in the poll for that picture. I'm thinking men that aren't shallow and prefer a woman that's a bit more robust and healthy. Maybe it's because of the way I grew up, but I just feel more attracted to that type of physique :)

That's just one frog's opinion though :p

Anyway, congrats again on your recent weight loss too, Sparks! You're doing so awesome! :D

AHeya sweetie

First of all :hurray: :hurray: :hurray: :hurray: Well done on the weight loss!!!! That's awesome.
I am just like you when i know that the scales have moved in the right direction before official weigh day. I wake early and have to get up and weigh, which is really sad cos my weigh day is a sunday and i should just enjoy a lie in. I also spoil the lie in for Mark too alot cos i then go back in the bedroom and jump around on the bed like an excited child!!!!

I totally get what you mean about not having a cheat day. I am the same, i think the only reason this has worked for me this time is that i am in control of everything i put into my face. I am looking to still be in control over christmas because i know that if i think 'sod it, it's christmas' then i will definatly struggle to get back on track and i am SO not going back to where i was!!! I'm the same with working out too, but that's probably due to the fact that i love it and i'm totally addicted to running :)

How awesome about your jeans !! :hurray: :hurray:

Congrats again sweetie Xx

Whew! Busy week! I kept wanting so badly to write in my diary but every day was like wake up at 5:30, spend half the day at school, spend the rest of the day at work, drive home at 8:00 pm while I talk myself into working out, get home, eat dinner, study, knockout P90X and then pass the eff out!

My school has a massive health center (complete with an unbelievable gym, and 19 year olds who live in their sports bras, so I'm still a little gym-phobic about attempting that one :p) so I made an appointment to see a nutritionist. The meeting was really helpful and I learned a ton about nutrition and also cleared up a a few misconceptions. She weighed me and measured my body fat and said that I have a surprisingly high amount of lean muscle mass (that's right, I'm super ripped! Who knew?? ;) ), and that she could tell that I had been really active, so that was kind of exciting. She also had a long talk with me about carbs and starting to put them back in my diet. This is mainly because she said I still haven't developed a healthy relationship with food, before it was about binging and excess and now it's about obsessive restriction, both of these are extremes and a way to attempt to gain a sense of control in my life through food, she told me that I know that I can do this now and that I need to find a happy medium and stop letting food control my life. I don't disagree with this, it's something I've been thinking myself.

She also said that I am not getting enough fat in my diet and that is one of the reasons that my shin splints would not heal and that they worsened so quickly. I left the meeting with a plan that she made that would increase my fat intake by twice as much and my carbs by nearly 4 times as much! Kinda freaked me out a little, but she said I can do it slowly. The app I have on my phone that I track all my calories on makes these nice little pie charts that tell me where my calories are coming from, you can see I've changed the composition of my diet a lot over the last few days!

I'm a little worried about adding the carbs back in... just because I like them so much! Right now I'm sitting here eating some low fat frozen yogurt with fresh blueberries and a few almonds and it's soooo good... but there's a whole carton of froyo in my fridge now... I'm gonna have to put some head phones on so I don't have to hear it begging me to come eat more! Grrr carbs >.< evil.

Day 16 - When did you first decide to lose weight?

Um.. in utero? Seriously, I can't remember a time when I couldn't pass for at least chubby and wasn't completely aware of it. I was even a chubby toddler (obligatory childhood photo)

ugh the cheeks, and they just never went away! However, deciding that I need to lose weight and actually doing it have been two different things. I've stopped and started and succeeded and failed enough diets to make Oprah look like total noob hour. But, this is the most successful I have ever been and I seem to be on a roll, hopefully I can keep it up!

You're lucky your mom has sewing skills! I remember every winterball and homecoming meant finding a dress that fit on the bottom and then smashing my boobs into the top, they seriously cut those things for women with triple A cups!

The whole school/work balance is so impossible! You go to school to make more money, but you have to have money to go to school! You just can't win :p So sorry to hear you're feeling to money pinch too, so stressful!!

haha, I'm glad you're acquiring P90X... don't be scared, I'm sure I'm just a big wimp, you'll probably fly through it and wonder what in the world I was complaining about! It does kick my butt, but I always finish it feeling like I accomplished something awesome. Plus building muscle just helps you burn calories more efficiently, so you might see some added benefits in your weight loss when you start adding some strength into all that cardio that you do.

I did see there was a P90X 2 but I haven't had a way to get a hold of it yet, maybe if you see it at the "store" you can let me know! ;)

I totally feel you on Christmas! It's even worse here because we get Thanksgiving and Christmas back to back, it's a gluttonous double whammy :p I'm trying to just see it as a challenge, also I'm going to keep reminding myself with every cookie and piece of fudge that I DO NOT want to have gained weight come New Year's, I've set an end of the year goal just to try and help me stay on track. I just have a such a bad all-or-nothing mentality, if I eat one thing I eat everything!!! Ahhh! It's scary, but we can do it! And look at you! I can't believe you only have 10lbs left, you are so freakin close!! Exciting!
