Erin's Diary xoxo

Yay thanks so much ladies :) it really is nice when things start to pay off - even just a little. A nice reminder to know what I'm working for :D

Today was pretty good - not a great day at work (just one of those days I guess) but food wise it was not too shabby considering I had that dinner out at the Pasta place tonight with former co-workers (we get together every few months).

I just got home though and need to be in bed in 2 hours. So definitely time to fit a good workout in there - even just an hour on the gazelle. I'm off to put my runners on now so I have no excuse. I find that works best. My routine is usually I get home from work, change right into my workout clothes, have dinner then hop to it and then it's done and over with :)

Anyways, here we go -

March 3, 2011
Breakfast
- special k with low cal yogurt and half handful of blueberries
Snacks
- light rye wasa cracker with light laughing cow cheese
- one pretzel
Lunch
- mini whole grain wrap with 3 slices turkey, cut grape tomatos, and tzatsiki sauce
- baby carrots, various pepper strips, snow peas and grape tomatoes with leftover dip
- one chocolate
Out for Dinner
- quarter chicken (white meat) - I only ate maybe 1/3-1/2 and took off the skin and I got two sides of broiled tomatoes with garlic and fire roasted zucchini so yumssss!! I still have a lot of the meat and half the veggies for leftovers. I did have a small piece of bread with salsa dip and saved the salsa for my leftover chicken :)

I felt proud that everyone else got gooey baked cheese pastas and I avoided them. I did really want the chicken (and those are two of my fav sides) and it helps that I can't really have the dairy (lactose) and I thought of how much happier my tummy would be later if I just passed on it. So Yay! I also just had water and avoided the sodas, wine and sangria everyone else had (the price factor helped in that a bit) I'd rather save my booze calories for this saturday :p

As long as I get that workout in then I'm still on a good track this week :)

Thanks everyone for all your support - Hope you all have a great Friday!! :D

Hey!!

That's great that people are letting you know that the changes are noticeable! U think some people don't always like to say things, because they think it implies that they thought you needed to lose weight, but I'm like - NO NO!! TELL ME!!! hehehe...like jess said- when you hear it, it's like, "YES! My hard work is paying off!" Reinforcement is always great :)

How are you feeling today!? Hopefully you're feeling better! I know what you mean though, sometimes I feel just awful- I don't know what it is! I always thought that a healthy diet and consistent exercise would be good for the gut and the inners - but lately I've been finding that my tummy gets upset! I wonder if it's because we're not eating enough? (Oh, wouldn't I LOVE it to be that! hehehehehe)

I certainly think you need rest days! And you shouldn't feel guilty about taking them! It gives your body a chance to recover!! Speaking of resting, your work outs are great!! How do you like Jillian Michaels Banish Fat Boost Metabolism? Are they fun!!!? I would love to know! I saw a bunch for sale, and I think they would be great to try! (For the days I don't want to leave the house :)

I love your trick with coming home and putting your workout clothes on right away! I don't know what it is, but as soon as I start to change, something in me says "OK, now you have to do it!" but if I hesitate and lag about getting my clothes on, I won't go! And you're totally right- once it's done, it's over with hehehehe!

i hope you have a fantastic weekend :)
great work girlie!

Your day sounded really nice! I have to come home eat right away then wait 2 hours until I can work out because while I have never thrown up during a workout.. there were some almost times lol I always go out with 2 of my girlfriends to the same italian restaurant too.. Its a good thing we don't do it often cause I love the pasta there!

You are also doing really great so keep it up! Have a fun weekend ;)

great work girlie!

haha yeah yeah for those people who are afraid to (maybe insult?) me by saying their noticing - no way! tell me, it's definitely motivating!

I'm definitely feeling a bit better thanks :) Yesterday I had a weird tummy thing again for a bit, but it was short lived so that's good. I did up my calories a bit this week and was much less strict about small things (like if I was close to my limit of calories but hungry after a workout then a half banana with peanut butter was definitely ok and a good idea) But tummy issues are definitely hard and make exercising a bit tricky so I'm hoping to keep them to a minimum ;)

I'm not also agreeing with Rest Days as being ok and a good thing now and then. If I feel so crappy I can't even imagine putting on my runners than that's a good sign that my body needs a break and as long as I dont' continue that break for the rest of the week, then one night will definitely not derail me.

I actually really like the Jillian Michaels Banish Fat Boost Metabolism dvd. There are a few things near the end I have to modify so I can do them (especially a lot of jumping - damn you knee!) but I enjoy the circuits and variation and the mix up of upper, lower and ab/core moves. I feel like it's a good combo to my straight cardio. I'm definitely going to pick up more.

Hope you have a great weekend as well!!!

Thank you as well :D:D Yeah some days I have to wait a bit (all decked in my gear) until I can hop on that gazelle or my tummy will flop flop for sure but as long as I fit it in asap then I'm good.

Mmmm pasta :) Well I ended up going out for dinner last night as well so I'm glad i made the healthier choice the other night (plus now I have yummy chicken and veggies leftover for today)

Thanks again and hope you have a great weekend as well!!

My sister and I ended going out for dinner with my dad last night and I was a bit worried. I LOVE White Spot burgers (mmm special sauce) but unless I plan the rest of my day around a splurge like that it definitely doesnt' fit into my food plan for that day. And I wasn't expecting going out that night. But I was happy to see they had a healthy section on the menu and I was able to get a delicious chicken burger and side salad for around 500 calories so I could stay on track that day! yay!

Yesterdays food :)
March 4, 2011
Breakfast
- special k with low cal yogurt and blueberries
Snack
- cup of chicken soup - one of those little packs for your mug - low cal but horrible stuff in it - but I felt like crap and needed something to east that
- one pretzel
Lunch-
- I made a mini chicken quesadilla for lunch - mmmm :)
- weight watchers whole grain mini wrap with small handful light mozza cheddar and a bit of shredded chicken (left over from dinner that I tossed with taco seasoning) and hot sauce
- 2 large tbsp salsa and cilantro
- carrots, peppers and snow peas
Dinner-
- White Spot dinner - picked a healthy choice meal with a charbroiled chicken burger (fat free ranch) and a side salad with light raspberry vinaigrette
Post Workout Snack-
- low cal yogurt with small sprinkle of special k

*One Hour on the Gazelle + 75 various ab workouts

and the good news is I did another weigh in this morning and I beat that 190s plateau!! Yay 180s!! It said 186.2 but my wonky patterns of tons of sodium and then tons of water means a bit was probably water weight (I was super good with water and lots of tea the last few days) but either way that's good and solid in the 180s so yay :)

GIRL!!!! WAAHOOO!! beating the 190's is tough- but deeee'am, gurl, you'z did it!!! That's fantastic! Wow!! 186 is an amazing number! You should be VERY VERY proud of yourself!

*happy dance*

Your hard work is paying off big time!!! *hugs*

Congrats girl!!

And it's hard to stick to a good diet when you eat out- but you did it!!!! Good for you :)

I'm so happy for you! you seem so happy and you should be!

Major Happy Dances!!!! Thanks hun :)

I'm all dressed and ready to go out and do some real dancing now. And I apparently learned tonight I need to go shopping. My favorite go-to skirt for going out needs to be taken in and none of my jeans fit. Thankfully i found something, but darn these middle stages lol. I guess it's a good thing tho :)

But man on man the 190s were tough to get out of. Funny enough when I was less strict and upped my calories a bit is when I pushed through it. Who knows. But I guess changing things up now and then is good.

I'll be back tomorrow with my food and (lack of) exercise for the day (cleaning and dancing count right ;) hehe).

Happy Saturday Everyone!! :D

EXCELLENT JOB!!!! And now you get to go shopping! Now that is a major reward lol I love shopping!!!! I'm a HUGE coats and shoes girl!! Mmmmm I'm gonna go browse at Zappos for a while now I think lol

Have lots of fun tonight!! Dancing is such a good workout lol You are gonna look amazing I am sure :)

Thanks!!! :D Yes shopping will be a fun little mid-way reward :)

I did end up finding a cute black mini skirt that I had that I would have never worn out before and it ended up looking pretty cute :)

Last night was lots of fun. Most of the time we go to the same bar because it's close to my place, plays fun music (we're friends with the dj) and the bartenders and bouncers are awesome and we always run into other friends there. This week we went to try a new place that's also close by but it ended up being terrible so we went back to our regular place and danced it up for the rest of the night haha. Drank waaaaay too much (I started with vodka sodas but ended up with vodka orange juices - oops).

Then had McDonalds today - can't win them all ;) At least it was just a happy meal :p

March 4, 2011
- leftover chicken (maybe 1/2 cup) 1 broiled tomato with roasted garlic and 3 pieces zucchini and half a small bun with salsa
- few small pieces of chocolate
- whole grain mini wrap with tbsp peanut butter and 1/2 mashed banana
- one low cal yogurt
- lots and lots of drinks

March 5, 2011
- happy meal with chicken nuggets (4), small fries and diet coke
Then off to dinner at my parents - mom's making vegetable lasagna and salad - as long as I don't overdo the portion or load up on garlic bread then I'll be a-ok :)

Haven't done my workout yet today (feeling those drinks a bit from last night haha) but the plan is an hour on the gazelle when I get home tonight.

Let me just say I love chicken nuggets from Mcd's lol but my fiance hates going there so I guess he's helped curb my addiction. 4 is never enough and with the honey sauce lol soo freaken good!

Hope you had a good workout! Drinking messes me up so much.. ugh I spend like the next 2 days recovering. I'm such a light weight lol

mmm nuggets haha. Yeah even though McD's is across the street from my place I don't eat there much so that's good and I stick to the happy meal sizes but still bad bad :p

Workout was good - glad I fit it in. It wasn't a full out hard workout but considering it was start of TOM I'm glad I did it at all. I always feel so crappy but once I start I end up feeling even better. I also need to organize my time better so I'm not getting to bed so late.... grrr..

Today was good. Feeling a bit icky - but that's normal. Did Level 1 of Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred - first time and so far seems pretty good and then I did an hour on the gazelle hard - I was dripping - ickkk but so good :D

Hopefully the rest of the week goes ok - feeling slightly less motivated this week but I have my ups and downs so as long as I keep chugging along I know I'll be good :)

March 7, 2011
- 2 pieces weight watchers whole grain toast with 1/2 mashed banana and 1 tbsp light peanut butter
- one low cal yogurt
- whole grain mini wrap with 3 pieces of turkey, tzatziki sauce and grape tomatoes
- baby carrots, snow peas and grape tomatoes
- 5 mini eggs
- small piece of vegetable lasagna (mom's homemade - mmm) with salad and 1 small piece of garlic bread
- whole grain bread with tbsp of hummus (post workout)

Well workout is done, lunch is made, hair is dried and nails are painted - bed time!!!

I did end up finding a cute black mini skirt that I had that I would have never worn out before and it ended up looking pretty cute

That's awesome! i bet you looked fantastic!

You sound like you had a great night out!! It's important to let loose, and treat yourself (totally drooling over the McD's today! LOL ..yumyum!), otherwise it makes all the hard work kind of like torture! hehehe

Sometimes it's hard to balance life, make time to work out, and make sure you're getting enough sleep...sometimes there's just not enough time in the day to do it all! I think if every day had an extra 5hours, it would be fantastic! LOL

Hope the week treats you great :)

awesome job on the workout!! food is looking really good too! I'm super excited that soon you will have more pounds lost then left to go!! What a huge accomplishment. I always get excited about being over the 50% mark lol

Thanks - definitely fun to let loose and treat yourself - perhaps I've been treating myself a little too "well" lately but just gotta get back on it :) Yeah the days I want to get a good workout in really suck my evening up haha. Hope you're having a good week as well! :D

Thanks Tally! I cant' wait to get past that mid-way hump as well :) After the last few days I'm not expecting it soon but I'll just keep chugging along and I"ll pass it eventually :D

So after an especially treat filled day for me earlier this week I sorta slacked on posting here. I still kept my own journal but never got around to posting it here - plus just busy busy busy bee :p

Anyways, I didn't fall off the wagon but I was pretty sure I was hanging on to the back of it by a finger nail for a bit there lol but I think I'm coming back around again.

My problem is that I need to know a head of time if I have a possible splurge dinner or night out so I can plan the rest of my day's food around it in order to be able to enjoy it and not go over my calories so unexpected nights out are hard for me - esp with drinking cause extra booze calories and more munchies and easier to not make good choices.. but I'll keep on truckin' and I'll be ok :)

March 8, 2011

- scrambled eggs with sprinkle of cheese and 2 tbsp salsa
- 1.5 cup light veggie soup with whole grain toast/hummus and veggies (carrots, snow peas, etc) and one pretzel
- chocolate egg - oops started around here
- candies (1 hershey kiss, a few jelly bellies and 2 or 3 sours)
- 2 1/2 beers - gack!
- 10 chicken wings - they were pretty tiny and I had them with hot sauce (no butter) on the side, but still....
- toast with hummus - considering my previous post-drinking snacks this wasn't bad, but def wasn't necessary

* So because of the last minute Pub Night I didn't get my workout in either - yikes! not a great day... actually not an official workout but I did a good half hour sweaty file room shuffle during work. I had to shuffle cabinets of 'bag files' (5-10 lb accordion file folders) most of which were way above my head so lots of lifting - def felt it in the arms. So, hey, better than nothing ;)

March 9, 2011
- reduced sugar oatmeal with splash of soy milk and a few blueberries
- light mini babybel cheese
- small handful of mixed nuts
- turkey and hummus sandwich on weigh watchers whole grain bread
- low cal yogurt
- baby carrots, snow peas and grape tomatoes
- 3 mini eggs
- small wendy's chilli (no crackers) and jr hamburger (no sauce or cheese)

*45 minutes on the gazelle

March 10, 2011

- special k with low cal yogurt and blueberries
- string cheese
- whole grain mini wrap with half smashed banana and tbsp light peanut butter
- low cal yogurt
- one kiwi
- 2 slices pickle
- tofu broccoli green bean stirfry with light sesame ginger dressing

I lost my ipod today somewhere at work so I'm not sure if the gazelle is a fun idea without nit (plus now I'm super cranky that I lost it -wah!) but I want to do some combo of my Julian Michael dvds and the gazelle tonight to get a good workout in... I can do it!

OMG I hope you find it! I always feel so sad if I forget my ipod at home :( Doing awesome! My friends are kind of broke or dieting right now which has made it extremely easy for me to avoid drinks or surprise lunches... I know I should be sad for them but its been helpful for me lol Hope your workout goes well :)

haha yeah it would be nice to be able to avoid surprises like that too ;) I'm sure once I get more into this I'll get the hang of it and be able to not go crazy (well it wasn't even too crazy) at the pub nights and stuff :)

Yeah I'm hoping it just fell out around my desk or in the lunch room somewhere. My coworker quickly looked but said she didn't see it - but fingers crossed! I did find an old shuffle and some headphones where only one earbud works so those will have to do for now. But it was super annoying that the sound kept going in and out as I bobbed around on the gazelle haha :p

I ended up doing Level 1 of 30 Day Shred and 45 min on the gazelle + ab work. Not as much as I was hoping for but not bad and I'm just beat. I was trying to think of why I'm so tired and then remembered I spent all morning at work lugging boxes around between filing rooms and the afternoon running around the office like a mad woman so that may have something to do with it ;)

We'll here's to a good friday tomorrow :D

Your doing great! Slip ups happen but that is life - it's easier to pick yourself up after one bad day rather than ruining the whole week because of it.
I love it that you are doing the 30 day shred dvd - it's such a great workout and I can totally notice the difference in my arms after doing it the past month - and I didn't even do it close to every day!
Looking forward to checking on your progress when I return - keep it up and keep working hard! Take care!:seeya:

Thanks so much! :D:D Yeah I'm really enjoying adding the 30 Day Shred DVD into my regular workout now and then as I really feel it adds the toning that I want to just my regular cardio (you're right you def feel it in your arms! wow!)

Anyway- thanks again for the support and talk to you when you get back - have a great trip :):)

Hope you had a great day and you found your ipod! Also awesome job about varying your workouts! I have learned that it actually does make a huge difference at least with my body!

I would work out my arms when I was at the gym but never with weights just punching motions and I think they will look so much nicer now! Hope your workouts and eats went well today :)
