Emily's weightloss diary

Okay I'm back to 134 today, figure I should be able to hit 133 by the end of the weekend. I realise that my week is disproportionately busy Monday to Wednesday (max 4 hours sleep), then gets a lot more relaxed Friday to Sunday so I have a bad habit of gaining one pound by Wednesday, then losing 2 by Sunday. It still means a loss, but cant be too healthy or the most effective way of doing it. So from now on my focus is going to be on staying healthy Mon-Wed, cause I usually do fine on the weekends.

Yesterdays food:
1 bowl cereal (300 cals)
Too many cashews (400 cals)
Rice and butter chicken (tiny portion) (300 cals)
Grapes (300 cals)...yes I ate that many grapes across the day, it was just so hot and they were just so juicy and refreshing
Pasta and vegetable sauce (400 cals)

More than I aim for but I walked for 5kms, swam laps of my pool for about 20 minutes, did 300 situps and did a couple of hundred lunges so I catered for the extra exercise.

Here's whats on the menu for today:
1 bowl cereal (300)
Cashews (300)
Salad (200)
Grapes (150)
Unspecified dinner (500)
= 1450, perfect :)

Will do same exercise as yesterday, minus the swimming unless it clears up a bit
 
Rest of yesterday went as planned, feeling pretty good. And its shopping day today :party: ....as in my mum is taking me shopping and buying me a bunch of clothes which I'm gonna buy a size too small so that they wont fit me until I lose a few more pounds...size 10 skinny jeans here I come! (Aus sizes that is, think that's a US 6). In such a good mood at the prospect of spending money that I'm gonna go hop on the treadmill (usually work out at night, not 8am on a Sunday). That's all, hope everyone had lovely weekends :)
 
You sound very motivated, but a shopping trip at someone elses expenses will do that!!! I hope you had fun shopping!!!! Keep up the good work you will fit into those skinny jeans in no time!!!!! Go You!!!!! :seeya:
 
Ugh, bad bad day.

After my train broke down, leaving me stranded in the middle of nowhere and causing me to miss two important uni assessments I finally made it home and have since pigged out on all manner of comfort foods due to feeling incredibly stressed out and disappointed. I washed and blow-dried my hair this morning so I really don't feel like working out, plus its pouring rain. Feeling so bloated and gross right now. Must make up for it tomorrow. Grrrr worst day ever.
 
Okay I have one week off uni and I am going to use it to step up the motivation that I have been lacking the last couple of weeks. I have really been slacking lately; I haven't gained, and I've actually lost a tiny bit, but I've been eating so unhealthily and not exercising at all.

So, this week I'm gonna set myself some guidelines and STICK TO THEM:
- 1200 calories a day
- Walk 6kms a day (run as much as my shins allow)
- 200 situps a day
- Lots of fruit and vegetables, lots less bread/pasta/biscuits/other carbs (my biggest binge)

Aim to be 132 by Monday after next, I'm gonna be soooo happy once I get below the 60kg (132lb) mark!

Thanks! Doesn't really feel like a win cause I was only really getting rid of the weight that I'd failed to lose the week before, but ah well at least it means I'm back heading in the right direction!
 
Phew just killed with an 8km run (in under an hour, yaaaaay). Not a huge achievement by most peoples standards but the exciting bit for me is that I did it without my shins hurting at all :party: been doing my exercises and stretches regularly and I think its finally starting to pay off.

ALSO, my family are all getting burgers and chips for dinner and asked what I wanted but I said I would make myself a salad instead because I'm already at 1300 cals for the day (yes I'm still over my limit but I'll only be over by about 300 by the end of the day instead of 7/800 with a burger and chips)

ALSO, I'm going to a Full Moon style beach party next Fri (that's Full Moon, as in the epic Thai dance party, not New Moon, as in a glitter and vampires party) and I assume 1/2 the girls are gonna be in bikinis and nothing more so I've decided I'll be rocking the bikini top with shorts, but to be confident in that I'm gonna have to REALLY work hard this week and lose probably 2lbs (NO CHOCOLATE FOR ME). I know the idea of showing my midriff sounds like insanity, but for me my stomach isn't actually that huge an issue (well, not compared to the rest of my body anyway!) I'm way more worried about the shorts... I'm extremely bottom heavy, my whole family has been cursed with massive thighs (my younger sis has not an ounce of fat on her and still has massive thighs so I realise its muscle, not just fat, and will never really go away...devo)

Oh also just remembered that I said I'd post some progress pics. I'm actually really bloated and gross today, but hey, I said I'd do it. Now just to figure out how....

Also the pants are too small and really dig into my stomach, but where I want to be they'll be pretty loose and comfy fitting, so that's why I'm doing my progress pics in them. Sooooo not flattering though.

Wow, your progress pics look great! You keep saying you have large thighs, but I'll tell you, I'd kill for your thighs! Trust me, no one is going to be looking at you and thinking anything bad about your thighs.

Thanks, I have really high hopes for this week because I'll actually have some free time on my hands for once! And I confess I walked probably a third of that time, so it wasn't all running...I'm still counting it though!

Lol the party wont be so fun if this damn rain keeps up...mind you it's nice to have some cooler weather to work out in for once.

Thanks for the encouragement! I think everyone seems to have one problem area they tend to focus on and kind of obsess about, and for me that's my thighs, so I probably think they're worse just from time spend obsessing over them
 
Oh boy, easter Sunday destroyed me...I'd say I had upward of 3000 calories. And sadly I woke up today and ate probably 150 grams of chocolate! Now I have a terrible stomach ache...awesome. Gonna try and get in like a 2 hour workout today until I stop feeling so disgusting. Also I'm not going to consider weighing myself for 2 days because I know the scale's gonna be waaaaaaay up.

The worst part though is that I still have SOOOOOOOO much chocolate here. I have younger siblings so the 'easter bunny' still comes and gives us a s**tload of chocolate...from memory I have a fererro rocher egg with chocolates, a carton of crunchie eggs, about 50 assorted small eggs, and a 1kg egg!...from my very rough calculations that's about 10000-15000 calories...or a good 3 or 4 unnecessary pounds.

I don't wanna chuck them, there's probably about $60 of chocolate there, but I definitely don't want to eat it and if it's there I will! Dammit.

Must get out of this room and workout out now....the chocolate is staring at me...daring me to eat it...
 
Lol My kids got so much chocolat too and they are too young to eat it all so it's calling my name lol They got the good stuff too Lintdoor or Whatever it is spelled the cheap wax tasting stuff I don't care about but those gold bunnies are calling lol! So I stuffed them in the freezer so if temptation hits I have to get then to thaw a bit before I eat them I have time to regain my self controle before I actually eat one!!!! Have a good workout you will feel much better after!
 
Love the freezer idea Verobc...works for chocolate and credit cards! haha.



So yesterday I hopped on the treadmill for about and hour and cranked the incline wayyy up and was feeling better. I also ate lightly for the rest of the day so I didn't feel so bad, but then after dinner I scoffed 4 ferrero rochers and ruined it. Bout to hit the treadmill again, today will be the day that I get back on track...I must or I'll screw up the biggest loser challenge tomorrow. I wish this chocolate was gone already!

aw you're doing really well, you have a lot of determination!! as for the chocolate :p, i don't think you should restrict yourself from eating them completely. Have like one a day/ say as reward for doing so well during the entire day. Or, if you're really not able to restain yourself, why not cut out a picture of a really fit/toned body, and put it next to the chocolates. That way when you try and grab seconds/thirds, you'll remember what you're true goal is, and having more chocolates just aint gonna help you get there.
 
hey amsterdam! Oh believe me I haven't been restricting myself completely...the opposite, I've been eating chocolate non-stop! Luckily I'm starting to get sick of it so hopefully I'll be a bit more restrained today. As for motivational pictures, I have a picture of Jessica Biel above my desk to keep me motivated...man I would sell my soul for that womans body!
 
Just realised I've been really slack with actually posting what I've been eating.

Today:
Breakfast
1 Bowl cereal (300 cals)
Snack
1 Cup pineapple (150 cals) (...I now have no tastebuds, dammit)
Lunch
1 Cup instant soup, 2 pieces toast with butter (400 cals)
Snack
2 monte carlo biscuits (200 cals...whoah, just looked that up, there's 100 cals in each of these??? No more of those)
Dinner
Ham and roast vegetables (400 cals)

Total: 1450

Burnt 250 cals on treadmill, and I'd say another 200 on incidental exercise during the day (I NEVER have caffeine, and I took 5 no-doze today to finish an assignment so I was absolutely bouncing off the walls, running everywhere, dancing in my room, hands shaking uncontrollably etc. Emily+caffeine=badddd....but I really needed it to stay awake and get it done)

Tomorrow I'm gonna have

Breakfast
Cereal (300 cals)
Snacks:
Muesli bar (150 cals)
Grapes (100 cals)
4 corn thins with honey (150)
Late lunch/early dinner:
6 inch chicken subway sub with veggies (400 cals)
5 x Jack daniels and diet coke (cant seem to find a solid answer for this online, but I think 70 cals each is closest?...altogether 350 cals, eek! But better for me to admit it now rather than eat my 1300/1400 during the day then go way over)

Total= 1450

Actually just realised I wont be able to post until Sunday night/Monday. I'm gonna be at a conference for uni, and if past ones are anything to go by there is gonna be a s**tload of alcohol and pizza going down, and I wont be able to buy my own food cause its out at some ranch thing. Oh well, I'll just have to party extra hard to burn off the extra calories :p I realllllly want to be at 132 by next Tuesday so that I can get under the 60kg mark next week but its gonna be frigging hard not at home for the next 4 days!

Anyway, update on Sun night (hopefully at the same if not lower weight than I am now!)
 
Okay, back from conference, food was surprisingly good, lots of healthy and delicious options, cals probs around 1300/1400 a day. Alcohol probably another 2000 per day on that, but I honestly wasn't expecting any better. Just checked the scales and I'm down half a pound in the last 3 days though, amazing given my alcohol consumption, but actually maybe not quite so amazing given that I didn't sleep (literally did not go anywhere near a bed) for 3 days :ack2: and I was in a state of near constant movement/activity. This is also why I will be keeping this post short and sweet because I am so so keen to go sleep for 10 hours.

Anyway, at 132.5 today and getting under that 60kg (132lb) milestone is so close, would LOVE to hit it by Wed for biggest loser weigh-in, but if not I'll definitely be close!
