Went for my 'run' this morning, I say 'run' because it was hardly a run. I just have to face the fact that high intensity exercise for me in the morning is just impossible! I am way too exhausted and not fully awake to run, and i don't have any food in me so I get pains in my side. Eating before my run is just not an option because I don't want to get up at 4am and eat! I can't get to sleep until about 1am anyway!

So I am thinking instead of running in the mornings I will either go for a walk or do some yoga. I think Yoga would be really good in the mornings! I think I will get a yoga mat too... I have an old video I can use (a video!! haha).
Because of my horrible attempt at 'running' this morning I will do a 4km jog when I get home from uni - semester 2 starts today :(
And THEN after dinner me and the BF will go to the gym. I haven't done chest in over a week so I will do that tonight, abs like always and legs. Maybe some squats.
Dinner will be yummo! Mum is cooking roast lamb which is my favourite. Yummy roast pumpkin with gravy! I will load up massivly on vegetables; peas, carrots & pumpkin. And have only 200g of Lamb with gravy. Thank god gravy is low cal I love it so much!

I have about 200 extra calories today and im not sure what to do with them, maybe something after dinner? or some sort of protein after weight lifting tonight... some nando's chicken tenderloins would go down a treat! about 30g protein and only around 200 calories.

I am burning 600 calories + today so i am needing the extra food, I think 1500 calories on a high intensity exercise day is a good number for me.

Thank you :)

I started off barely even able to run 500m! So what your doing is great! The best thing to do is to alternate walking and running and close that gap, so in a while when your fitness builds up you will be running the whole way!

What has really got me through it is concentrating on my breathing, breathing in through my nose and out through my mouth (like your blowing out a candle) relaxes my diaphram and I don't get a stitch.

Today 11am

I did a 5km run last night! I was so proud of myself, and it felt so good! Maybe in a couple of weeks I will be able to do 6km, that would be awesome. Just going to have a light 4km run tonight, I will only be doing 1 long run per week.

Sounds like you're doing awesome. You could also try some cross training to build up your running fitness. I couldn't run at all, but I did some Billy Blanks tae bo dvds for a while and it built up my endurance to the level where I could run 5k after 2-3 tries.

You should enter that race. It will give you a sense of achievement and get you motivated to continue running so that you can compete next year too.

Good luck!

Oh and mapmyrun.com is awesome for measuring your runs

Thanks for the advice! I was thinking of taking up a martial art just for the fun of it, or a group sport, I really want to get back into that kinda of stuff - makes exercise fun.

Not sure if I have mentioned it on here, but I map my runs with map my run, I agree it is awesome! I'll do it before I go for a run so im not just running aimlessly!

Saturday 26 July 2008

I got 2 wisdom teeth out this morning. Ouch, didn't hurt at all when I got them done but when I got home they wouldn't stop bleeding and it was very painful! I had gauze in my mouth for about 2 hours, and now my whole mouth just aches. Im feeling back to normal now, I got them taken out at about 9am and it's now about 4pm, so hopefully i will be OK to exercise tomorrow or monday, I know that might be pushing it but i LOVE exercising and I can't stand to think of another day stuck home watching old western movies and sport :(

I didn't think I would be able to eat, so I ate 2 pieces of cold pizza this morning so I had something in my stomach, then at about 2pm I had a small bowl of ice cream, took me about half an hour to get through it all!
Tonight I am just going to have some mushed up chicken in a sauce. Im not going to bother recording my calories, my calories today are up to about 500 so I will probably end up having about 1000 calories, which isn't too bad because im not getting out of bed at all.

GAHHHH im so bored :(
Im going to make peanut butter cookies to take to work on monday for our meeting. Im only allowed one because they are SOOO super bad, but I hate using low fat ingredients it just wrecks the meal, so I prefer to have a smaller portion of the good stuff.

3/4 Cup Brown Sugar
1/4 Cup Plain Flour
1/2 Cup Choc Chips
1 Egg
1 Cup Light Peanut Butter (i use light cause it has less salt)

It makes about 12-15 large cookies. I might subsitute the flour for something else so they are gluten free, cause one of my workmates is a coeliac.

I've spent the whole day on the twilightsource forums lol! im addicted hehe...

Oh I use map my run and love it!!! It is so great knowing how far you went or how far you can go. I love making new paths to follow! What is twighlightsource? Anyways, good job and those cookies sound sinful!

It gets annoying when I look back on my diary and see how well I have eaten and how much exercise I have done, yet it doesnt reflect on the scale! grrrr! I guess thats what happens when your down to a lower weight.

Teenage books are awesome lol! I cant read adult books, tooo borrrrrrring!

my mother was a professor of english literature.. one of the thigns she instilled in us at a young age was reading was reading -sports page, comic books, romance trashy novels (though those would get you mocked :D ) didn't matter - as long as you were reading it was all good...
