EG's Diary

Okay, so I want to lose 45 more pounds. I would like to do it by the end of the year so I won't have to make another New Year's Resolution to lose weight again. I have been accomplishing my goal by eating 5 to 6 small meals a day, every 2 to 3 hours, meals that consist of chicken or fish, brown rice, red or sweet potatoes, lots of vegetables and fruits and drinking at least 100 oz of water daily. I have been walking everyday for 45 min or bicycling for about the same amount of time and I plan on beginning my strength training on Monday. I have my husband, children, parents and friends to support me in reaching my go and I believe my goal is as realistic as it can get. I began, not my "diet", but my lifestyle change on 07/10/08. I have never wanted anything more in my life. I've struggled with this too long and this time it will happen. I've lost 14 pounds so far and by the end of the year the 45 will be gone too and I'll never gain in back, God willing. I have faith in that.

Sunday

Today has been a good day. I followed my eating plan the way I had to but right now I just got back from bicycling and I am so sleepy that I don't even want to eat my last meal of the night. I'm used to working nights so my nights are like my days and I had to switch over back to days for the weekend because of some overtime I worked. I am beat. I got to get my workout in at least. I am very happy with my weight loss right now. I know I will be able to keep it up.

Breakfast: Eggs, turkey sausage, grapefruit & water

Snack: Deli sliced turkey, cantaloupe & water

Lunch: Chicken, broccoli, rice & water

Snack: Chicken, rice, water

Dinner: Italian Wedding Style Soup :)

Dessert: Frozen mango

Hi!
Congrats on your success so far. You have great goals set, and joining this forum just prooves your dedication. We all have unique journeys but are in the same boat, so we might as well row together, right? Can't wait to see how your days continue to be successful.

Thank you very much. Look at you! You are doing awesome. It looks like you are halfway there. I can't wait to be there myself. This sight has been a good thing for me. I'm learning alot and getting alot of nice comments from people that keep me motivated. Good luck to you as well. Take care.

So it's the least favoritve time of the month and I don't have to get all graphic because everyone should know what I'm talking about. Well this "time of the month" has caused me to gain two pounds but I am trying not to stress about it. I'm eating well and exercises everyday so I know I'm doing what needs to be done. I just cannot wait to get below 200. That right there will be a goal in itself. I just want to keep going and never turn back this time. It takes such a little amount of time to gain so much weight and such a long grueling time to get the weight off. I don't ever want to have to go through this again.

I know how you feel about getting below 200. In my old diary I would count down to onderland- I know its not good to rely on the scale, but it was a great feeling to look and see <200 on the scale for the first time. I think I was a little spastic about it. Best of Luck. ;)

It is an awesome feeling once you get below the 200 lb. mark. When I hit that point I hadn't seen the negative side of 200 in YEARS.

Fantastic goals, and it looks like you have the similar weight loss desire to mine. I started at 241.

Keep up the good work, you're doing great!

Thank you so much. It's nice to have people motivate you. I am looking forward to getting there. You have done very well yourself. Congratulations.

Thank you for your inspiring words. I really appreciate what you wrote. Good luck to you as well.

I'm finally off of that horrible "time of the month" and just like I knew it, the pounds went away. I am now 218 lbs!! I am so excited. And I can finally feel my clothes fitting me more loose. When I walk I have to pick up my pants. It's great. I don't know why this time it is different. In a way I guess it's because I have decided that I am not on a diet. I am on a lifestyle change. It's so much different because I don't deprive myself of things. I eat healthy foods, lots of fruits and vegetables and drink tons of water. I walk or cycle everyday and I started my weight training today, again. And when there is something that I really want to eat, like a piece of cake or chocolate or something like that, I just have a little nibble. And I savor every moment of it. I'm happy because I don't have to completely give up anything. I pray that things stay this easy because I have never been this happy "dieting". It grrrreat!!! I want to thank everyone who stops in a reads but especially the people who leave me comments. It's very inspiring. It's what people need to get through this. Other people who have been through it. God bless you and take care....Good luck to all.

Feeling clothes as looser= x10 better than anything the scale says! I love buying a size or two lower and seeing they fit. I am happy to see you are doing so well! I hope you keep updating your diary!

Good idea!!! I think I might do that too. We don't eat out often, but it's a good incentive. Not so much as a reward, but a way to get to the goal sooner. You are doing so well for yourself! Thanks for stopping by my journal. Since we are the same weight, it will be a fun challenge to keep each other motivated!

Don't limit your experiences with friends and family.. make a lifestyle change- this means not completely cutting out going out, at times it will discourage you. Go out and eat some, I am not saying do it every night, but there are MANY ways to go out and make healthy choices ( ie: check the menu online beforehand, and decide what to eat then.) Also, once you learn good nutrition making healthier choices should be alot easier in restaurants. :)

Ask for a nutritional guide at the restaurant also, I'm sure they will have one..

Hang in there. I was glad to hear that the pounds dropped after "that time of month" cuz I just started mine yesterday and had my first weigh in this morning, and was not too happy with the results. Hopefully next week will be better. It is good to know that others go through the same things. Even though I know it sucked for you, it is encouraging to hear that things got better.

Good luck in your continued success.

Being on this lifestyle change is a bit difficult for me only because my days aren't the same as everyone else's. I work the night shift so my morning starts at 3:00 pm. I hear people telling me that I should eat after 7:30 pm but that is virtually impossible for me. Whatever it is I'm doing is working for me but I am dreading going back to working days. There was never enough time in the day to get things done and I was drained by the time I went to bed. I wanted to spend my days off doing zip. Anyway, all is well in my shrinking body. I am taking things one day at a time and I made it through the day without "cheating". I feel wonderful and I feel blessed and God-willing this will all be just a nightmare very soon.
