Ed's Diary

With hard work and dedication, you could be doing instead of watching! For next time, I mean. :p

Yeah Curvie. Have your Brazilian friend teach you the triangle choke. I am sure he would be willing.

Yes I went to the very first legal Strikeforce event at the Shark Tank 3-10-2006, the day it snowed on the BEACH in Santa Cruz and I was on HWY 17 like, what the fuck, I don't know how to drive in snow!!!

It was awesome. I heart Kung Lee. And Scott Graham, he's local--and cute! :beating:

I have been to one more and a boxing match in SJ since then, but that was a while ago. I need to go to another tournament but they're like, $60 for a good seat--expensive! Well, for my broke ass

Left hooks are the way to go. I was boxing with headgear with my ex ex boyfriend and I got him with a quick left hook with 25% of my strength...and he had to stop the fight and recover--and his head is HARD! He was a 10 lb baby! It was then when I realized the power of a left hook when you put your weight on it! (via hips)

Yes, I recovered from the dumping. Besides, I did the most recent ex dirty, too. We both had shit coming to us, and we're about to hang out for the first time in a couple months to make amends. We were too good of friends not to reconcile.

LOL I haven't talked to him since I realized the sex sucked. :nopity: That was a WHILE ago. I'm confident I can just find some MMA guy to show me what it is.:coolgleamA:

Cung is the shit! I was afraid you would be a Frank Shamrock fan.

Its all about the hips. BJJ, boxing, wrestling. All of them. All about the hips.

Ha cant be good at everything I guess. Maybe it is all that time spent inside the guard of other men? Maybe he was out of his element. With the amount of training a gold medalist must have he is probably thinking the whole time "Should I lean back into the knee bar or try to pass guard and go for the arm?"

Cung, yes. I liked his last fight with Shamrock. Broken arm and all! Great job, both of them!!! Awesome fight.

At one of the events, after he won, he did a front flip from standing there--and with a blood pouring out of his nose--SAVAGE! :reddevil:

My hips are super strong. I should show you a picture! LOL

Yeah who knows what was up with that guy--nice guy, though!

Alrighty, I had a pretty good weekend. And by pretty good I mean boring as hell. Didnt do crap. Fridays workout went ok except I believe I have finally stalled out in my overhead press. Only got up 3 reps in my last set. This week I am going to take about 20% of the weight off and start my progression over. Hopefully I will be able to push through.

I drank way to much this weekend. We watched 21 Saturday night. It was ok. 6/10 maybe. Decent movie but one of those where you pretty much know every single thing that will happen 15 minutes into the movie.

Sunday we went swimming which I guess is good because I actually got a little exercise. We had burgers Sunday night and between the cooking out and watching an MMA fight that night i guess I had about 8 beers. So not too good for the diet.

Somehow I still weighed in pretty light this morning. About 190. Go figure.

beer is very good for a diet:)

no wait -beer is good for the soul

Beer is proof that god loves us and he wants us to be happy :)

"Drinking beer doesn't make you fat, It makes you lean....
Against bars, tables, chairs, and poles.”

Just goes to show you can goof on during the weekend and enjoy yourself without wrecking everything!

Keep up the good work Ed!

I would agree with all of those statements.

Thanks for the encouragement. Yeah, well if you put it inperspective, I pretty much drank 3 nights in a row. I estimate I took in maybe 1700 calories over 3 days in alcohol. Thats an appetizer at some restaurants.

I try to relax a little on weekends. I never schedule WO's but try to do something active (swimming, hiking) I have light breakfasts and lunches but will be a little more liberal with dinner. Like the burgers. I still keep it in check though. 1 4oz burger with oven fries instead of the big 1/2 pounders I use to make lol. Or I will buy a 6oz fillet instead of the big huge ribeye. Actually we had salmon and sweet potatoes Saturday so I just had 1 semi bad meal.

That's been my mentality as of late... I keep things pretty casual on the weekends but don't be real stupid.

Yeah my problem got to be guilt. Every time I would schedule a WO, or plan on being militant about my diet something would come up and change my plans. Then I would feel guilty because I didnt do what I planned. Not having cake at your nephews birthday party or having a few drinks at a friends house who invited you over is not the "lifestyle change" I want to make.

I hate my job because people are stupid!

Ok we have this thing on our web site where companies can submit quote requests. They do this by submitting a "quote request form" Now of course no one ever actually gives you enough information to actually offer a quote but it is usually enough to get you started. I just got one and under the comments it just says "please send quotes and samples" then we have a section where you can choose what sort of products you are interested in so we can send info. She chose "false" on every product we offer.

How am I suppose to know what the hell this lady wants?

she wants free stuff... :D

Probably. We get that a lot also. I got one Friday that said "Interested in recycled products. Please send samples of all materials and sizes offered"

All? Really? Did you notice that we have like 5 thousand products on our site? There should be an IQ test before you are able to even inquire upon doing custom manufacturing.

Work out

Squats 5x5
Bench (sort of) 5x5
DB rows 5x5 each hand
dips 3x5

Ok, had a good WO. Squats went well. I have had a little tweak on the inside of my thigh that seems to have disappeared. The bench was a problem. We only have 2 benches in my gym and there were 4 people sharing them. I had hung around and did some stretches for awhile but it looked like they were doing heavy lifts then resting for long periods so I decided what the hell, I'll try this funky machine thingy. I dunno what it is called. You load the plates on the back near the floor. Then you stand up and push the bar. Like a standing bench press. Kinda weird but it felt like it worked.

Sorta like that but different.

I also swapped to DB rows instead of the cable rows I have been doing. Why? I have no idea. Maybe I just felt left out because I have never worked out in the DB area. I actually had been thinking of swapping to Bent Over Rows but when I got there I wasnt sure about the form and so on.

I'm gonna try and hit some cardio tonight. Tonight is also weigh and measure night. I get to see if my work has paid off.
