Eating all the food. Doing all the exercise.

Good morning brave Lucy! How long is this I quit sugar pledge for? Is it just added sugar or does it include fruit? Hope you have a healthy week-end sweets for that Monday weigh-in xoC
 
Good luck with the Sugar challenge! I've been sugar free for over 2 months now, and I love it! (I do include a little bit of honey + fruits). How long is your challenge for? Enjoy the journey, first 2 weeks are not amazing, but after that you'll see and feel the differences.. it's awesome! I have a *major* sweet tooth, and I no longer crave or want chocolate. Even my special homemade (sugar free) stuff, not interested.

You CAN do this! Good luck!
 
Cate and Bluebean- it's an 8 week challenge where you can't have any sugar/fruit/stevia/artificial sweetener. Pretty much you can't have anything that remotely tastes sweet. They give you meal plans etc and they have their own forum/community that also has nutritionists/doctors/ pretty sure I saw psychiatrist too that you can talk to. It doesn't start until the 1st Oct so I'm trying to eat through all my (healthy) baked goods in the freezer! Ohhhh people. Oh my God. Yesterday one of the girls I met the other night started messaging me on FB, she's a bit down as she's just broken up with her boyfriend. I was working so I messaged her a bit, she went out with the other girls for a couple of drinks, they asked me to come out after work... I was tirrrrrrrrred after a really boring day, but thought no, I have to go and make life more fun. I'll go. Messaged her saying I'm not drinking, I have to work in the morning, I'm a lightweight etc. She's like all good, just come hang. I got there and one of the other girls had just left and the other was on the way out.... so just me and her. I decided ok, 1 glass of wine and I'll be fine. I looked at the menu, she wanted the same wine as me, 2 glasses cost the same as a bottle so we got a bottle to split... then suddenly we had split 3 BOTTLES OMG, we'd been dancing but I had to stop because my dodgy knee started to hurt and I realised it was 3AM. Whaaaaaaat. We'd been dancing for HOURS. Totally wasn't planning any of that, I'm still a bit drunk right now at 9am in the morning (could just be out of it as well though after only sleeping 4ish hours), very amused that the step counter on my phone already says I've done 14,000 steps today from all the dancing I did after midnight...

I did have an amazing night, not going to lie, but holy moly I have NO self control. Yikes. I did get a bit of satisfaction though out of knowing because my food was perfect yesterday, even with the 1000ish calories in 1.5 bottles of wine (what was I THINKING) with all the dancing I still came out at a small deficit.

Husband brought me McD's to perk me up a little this morning. It was needed :D

Todays food

B 2 bacon and egg McMuffins, tall flat white
L (at work) Strawberry protein cake, coffee
D (no way am I attempting to cook today) 2 bagels with smoked salmon and cream cheese

Exercise Nope. I'm counting all the dancing in yesterdays totals!

Total calories 1549 Total deficit 797 Total deficit for the week 1415 (better than nothing I guess)
 
Also just as an addition to the above post... I intentionally dressed down last night so I wouldn't be tempted to go out (ha). So I went out clubbing in jeans and a t-shirt.

Do you have to do the challenge to get access to the psychiatrist? Cause that's definitely a bonus for me...

Yeah, out on the town having a good time can lead to these sorts of things (which in my case leads me to hit on random women in bars/clubs. Hopefully you didn't run into any guys like me there.)

Hope you enjoyed your hangover. You have to savor those.

Hopefully the back improves little by little. Back injuries kinda suck.

Totally not feeling bad at all now, just really tired. I was pretty starving when I got home so I ended up having 4 bagels with cream cheese and salmon and some roast beef, so my totals for the week were:

Total calorie deficit: 845 (Better than nothing, or negative something!)
Average daily calorie intake: 2355 (oops)
Average hours of sleep each night: 7.5hrs (damn, that 4 hours last night really brought my average down!)

Soooooooooo don't think I'll be expecting much of a loss tomorrow... actually expecting a gain with all the alcohol and the water weight rebound it seems to bring.

Going to be much better next week! Aiming to have a 3000 calorie deficit!
 
68.8kg today, knew I was fluid-y though so that's fine. I'll probably weigh in every day the next few days to watch that go down.

Had a muuuuuch longer sleep last night but I'm still so tired! I think I slept close to 10 hours... I already can't wait to sleep again tonight. Might need to take a nap later to avoid having a big food day!!!

Wade is having a few issues at the moment, he's off to have a MRI on his head this morning as he's been suffering pretty bad vertigo. We both think it's his ear but his doctor was adamant it wasn't (we still don't believe him) but I mean he can have the head scan and then if it's clear ask to see an ENT. So he has the day off work today too.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Did I mention how tired I still am????? I don't know how I'm going to get through my PT session this morning. He's going to think it's hilarious. Also going to have a high weigh in too. Boo. Might ask him to weigh me again Friday and record that weight.

68kg today so it's coming down already!

Today I'm getting my hair done at 12 which will probably take me through till 3-4 and then we're going out for dinner. So far its myself with Wade, Ash, 2 ladies from work and possibly Wades friend. Other people will contact me if they can make it but think it'll just be us. Having Mediterranean food so I'll be eating lots of seafood! If people are getting entrées I'll just grab oysters to keep the calories down. Looking forward to it :D

Sounds like you had quite the night the other day!! I may stay up the very very very odd night till 3am but I'm not partying at a club, I'm at a friend's house watching movies or playing games. I don't got that kind of energy anymore (plus clubs ain't my scene no more)
 
Mystic- I am totally not one to go clubbing, its rare for me to even have a drink with dinner if I'm out and about. So for me the entire night was a random occurrence! I'm really glad I just went with the flow though because I had so much fun.

Dinner last night was aweeesome fun. The girl I went out with over the weekend came after all so there was 6 of us, no awkward moments at all and we are all meeting up at my gym to do Pilates next Tue night. I was perfect with dinner too, so yesterday was a good day! I took a selfie while getting ready... on my phone so not sure if this will work or not...

Today I have been to the gym, trained legs, and not much more than that. Its such a beautiful day outside but I'm so tired, think I'm just going to chill out for the rest of the day.

Definitely going to try to be kinder to myself tomorrow. I have a spreadsheet that I track and average everything on and the last 2 Thursdays have been my only binge days! So if I have to go up to maintenance for whatever reason I will without struggling to get a deficit in... the guilt of eating an extra snack is a big trigger for me.

Hey guys... updating tonight as I don't think I'll have the chance tomorrow, in Brisbane all day for a work meeting (urrgh, I HATE meetings).

Was soooooooooo tired all day. Did all I could to avoid eating and just ended up picking all day... was so close to ending in a binge but I managed to hone it in! Still want to have a decent deficit this week though so got to start trying a bit harder. I'm still really tired so will likely have an early one tonight, up at 6am tomorrow too.

Food plan for tomorrow

B 1/2 brekki bar, punnet of strawberries, coconut yogurt, coffee
S (at work meeting) Large latte
L Choc banana cake
S Protein chips (really hard finding portable snacks with protein! Don't even like these that much)
D Roast beef, veg, gravy

Exercise Likely nothing, weather is crap right now and will be out alllllll day. If I get home before 6 I might try to get to yoga but it's unlikely.

Nice pic, but it looks surely like that cat in the background is pondering how best to get into trouble. I suppose that's what they do.

I've started using fistfulls of high protein cereal (well high for cereal anyway) for small snacks to make up calorie shortages. Some are surprisingly yummy. I think back to the high sugar cereal I used to eat as a kid, and this stuff must be so bland in comparison. But without that reference point, these more adult ones still seem to have plenty of sweetness. Just like me.
 
MrVee- that cat in the background is Luna. She's also the one that woke me up early Sunday morning by sitting on my neck (which I didn't appreciate after going to bed at 4am!) She is just a troublemaker in general... we just forgive her because she's so damn cute! I was never a cereal person growing up, muesli if anything and only because my dad was a big muesli eater (and I wanted to eat what daddy was eating!) Having said that though I found an amaaaaazing activated grain free one... I'm sure that's pretty different from the sugary muesli I used to have too!!

Bluebean- Thank you, it really was a nice chill evening!! These outings are starting to add up though... I'm glad the main chick from that group that I started hanging out with is in the same boat as me (trying to lose weight) as it's halting our efforts and making us a bit poor! I think further excursions will be me cooking and her bringing the wine (she can't cook!!) :D

Finally managed to get out of my meeting at work, what a daaaaaaaaaay. Of course, waste of time as usual. I totally would've played up the sore back thing (even though it's now a non-issue) but we had to get measured for uniforms... they're tailoring them to us. I have no idea what's going to happen down the track when I'm super svelte and lean, it's probably just going to hang off me till they decide to fork out another pile of money for a new one!

I have tomorrow off work because of todays meeting, don't really have any plans besides PT. I think I might do a bit of cleaning around the house and a bit of meal prep.

Food was a little bit different today but still have a deficit of 481cals, so I'm doing well! I'd really like to bust out 3 days with 500-600 deficits now for weigh in on Monday, so that's something for me to aim for!
 
Hey guys!

After I posted yesterday I did get a bit nibbly, oops. Had 2 GF wraps with chicken and cheese which left me with only a 20cal deficit, and I was soooooooo tempted to go for more... then I got a message asking me to go for a walk with that chick I met (I'll call her S on here I think) so went out with her for a trek along the beach. Didn't get home till 2 hours later! Was a really nice night, it had been raining all day but it stopped the whole time we were out and there was lightning in the distance over the water. Very cool!

Today I got up and went to the gym, chest/tris/shoulders today. Was a big workout. Urgh. S is coming over for dinner tonight, she's bringing wine and I'm making chicken salad and made a raw caramel slice for dessert. Here's a pic of the slice:

After I got back from the gym I ate, cleaned the house, made the above slice, prepped the salad so all I have to do is add chicken once it's cooked, and then finally made a quiche for tomorrow.

We were going to go to Swell festival tomorrow (it's art sculptures all set up along a beach) and have a picnic (hence the quiche) but I think it's going to be too wet and rainy now... maybe will have people over to eat it. Or take it to someone elses place to eat. We shall see.

Before we have dinner tonight we are going to a pump class at my gym too, she didn't have enough time to go this morning so we are going together. Argh, guess it'll be light weights for me as did a pretty full on upper body workout this morning and my butt is still sore from legs on Wed!

Hi lundafuzz, the pictures of the dessert and the quiche are wonderful! You have done so many things in so little time! It's amazing. These days i avoid making cakes and delicious things because i haven't the power to resist to delicious eating food. I think that someone who is cooking not only for his/her diet but and for others has to resist to double seducements. Have a good not rainy day tomorrow!
 
Aby- I try to make sure I eat everything I want, but I purposely make it so it's healthy so I don't feel too guilty if I decide to indulge a bit more (ha, like I ate the rest of the slice for breakfast... which is fine! Had nothing bad in it) If I was entertaining a lot of people though and made something truly naughty I'd be giving it all away so it's not in the house!

Dinner last night was good, I'm so glad I put everything together before we went to the gym class though because I was STARVING when we finished. Salad was good, slice was good, wine was good :D We finished up pretty early though, Ash got home from work just in time to join us so he had salad and a beer with us and looked like he was falling asleep after not long so S left at around 8pm.

Today I'm at work, going to walk today actually. It's supposed to rain but looks pretty sunny out there right now so I should be ok! I'll be walking with my umbrella though like a tool as I'm worried about magpies this time of year.

Tonight I'm going to a little girly chat/gathering at a girls house I haven't met yet (J), S is going and so is L (she was the other girl I went for tacos with last week) and a few others I haven't met yet. I'm taking the quiche plus some cheese I have in my fridge, others are providing wine and crackers. It will NOT be a late one, I don't want to be on deaths door at work like last week. I'm only having 1 glass of wine, I've asked Wade if he's interested because he's likely to want to leave early so I can leave with him.

B 3 pieces of raw caramel slice (I am SO FULL. OMG.) Coffee
L 100g roast beef, 1/2 cup brown rice, 200g mixed veg

Hey guys! So last night was a lot of fun, ate more than I intended though. Had a couple of chicken wraps at around 5pm because I was starving and couldn't wait until after 7 to eat, then when I went out I had a small piece of quiche, some chicken and some salad. Still had a small deficit. Had such a great night out too, met some pretty awesome people! I didn't drink, and actually they didn't drink much either. Just had heaps of fun chatting and got home just after midnight.

Today I had work, was pretty tired! Walked there and it was really busy today so time went pretty fast. Tonight I am chillin at home with the husband and he has tomorrow off. Had Nandos for dinner!

Because I didn't get the deficit I wanted for the week (was aiming for 3000 this week and next week) I'm going to try to make it up next week.... so had just under 2500 this week, I'm sure I can smash 3500 next week!!!!

Weigh in tomorrow, hopefully the sodium from the Nandos doesn't kill it for me.

S Rice cakes, 100g cottage cheese, tomato
