Dust yourself up and try again

This weekend has been a little all over the place.

Friday was good. I did 20 mins on treadmill walk and run and 40 mins on elliptical. Then did some resistance training stuff for another half hour.

Food Friday eve/Sat afternoon and eve was pretty bad. Laden with carbs. Pasta, bread, bread bread, bread. Also a glass of wine which I regretted having on Sat morning because for some reason alcohol does really weird stuff to my body now that I don't drink as much.

Today will be clean eating- lots of salad, cheese and other veggies. No workout this weekend. I have to go see an old college friend this afternoon and we wanted to go watch a movie after. Woke up too late on Sun to do any kinda exercise. I think 2 day break is ok once in a while. Will start strong tomorrow morning for sure.

Happy Sunday.

80 minute work out:ack2: I would have needed continuous oxygen an ambulance and a night in hospital if I tried that. Respect, as ever, to you amber. You rock

Haha, you're so sweet, D. The trainer makes it fun, switches the exercise so you don't feel like you're doing the same old thing over and over again. Hope your week is going well!!

Been sooooo swamped at work . I was literally running from gym to the shower to my closet to the kitchen counter and out of the door yesterday morning. Meant to log yesterday evening but I was feeling so blah after such a long day I didn't want to turn my laptop on and start the process all over again. So going to log for both days.

Monday:
Did 40 mins elliptical, 30mins treadmill and yoga like stretches etc for about another 30 mins.

Food was ok
B: plain cheerios with 1% milk
S: peanuts (but I finished an entire bag and when i went to log it I realized, peanuts, although rich in protein is FULL of calories). :banghead::banghead:
L: Quinoa with veggies
S: Yogurt and one rice cake
D: A big bowl of salad

Tue:
Did 20 mins on the treadmill and about 60 mins of stretching, dumbells, leg lifts, sidebends. Resistance training makes you feel so good!!!

Haven't eaten anything today but here's the plan
B: 1 Toast with and egg and veggies
L: Salad
S: peanuts (but maybe not as many as I had yesterday!).
D: Salmon with sauteed veggies and brown rice (I'm making it and both BF and I LOVE salmon).

Hope ya'll are having a great week.

Hey sounds like being swamped is a good thing since you have to "literally run from gym, to the shower, to the closet, to the kitchen, then out the door."
Your working out and keep your cardio going.... lol
Keep it up girl.....

Not much to report other than the fact that I worked out this morning. But the food was a little blah.

Exercise:
Elliptical: 35 mins
Treadmill (mostly walk)- 20 mins
Strength training- mostly jumping jacks, crunches, leg lifts, finished with a few sets up upperbody stuff with dumbbells.

Food was ok too, I think.

B: 1 toast, tapioca pudding, veggies
S: 1 big apple (was so juicy and yummy)
L: Grilled fish, brown rice, bakchoi, a small salad with a small piece of pastry
D: Small pasta dish with potatoes, veggies and fried fish plus one small glass of wine.

Hope everyone's doing great!!

You should have busy days more often Amber. Go girl! I used to hate tapioca, spinach and sprouts when I was a little girl. Now I love 'em. Funny how our tastes change as we mature

Thursday was a dud. I was waaay to tired to get up early in the morning for gym. Never made it to the gym at night either. I came home and went right to bed.

Today was better. Got up early all fresh and ready to start the day. Thank god it's Friday!

Did 60 mins elliptical and 35 mins of treadmill.

But I also ate some really good Danish cookies that a colleague brought all the way from Denmark (those Scandinavians know how to make the cookie crumble). :)

I have a huge report to finish this weekend, so will be working through the weekend. Sunday morning I will head out to the gym and meet a friend for lunch. BF just texted to say that he has a huge pile of work he needs to get through this weekend too. So we will both be putting our glasses on and working. He has also agreed to make all the meals this weekend and let me rest. Do I have a good man in my house or what? Hehe...

Also TOM. Feeling bloated and gross. Just a few more days and it shall pass.

Unlike you, D, I have always loved tapioca. When I went off to college I discovered bubble tea. And I have to say, that has changed my life. On a stressful day, I head over to Chinatown and get a bubble Thai tea, and my life comes back into balance. Bubble tea also made of big pears of tapioca. Nom nom nom!

Very few veggies I don't like. Brussel sprouts is the worst though. Never developed a taste for it, and I tried all kinds of recipe.

Its always nice to have someone cook your meals for you..lol
Needless to say my wife hates my cooking so I don't get the chance to cook for her unless it is something boxed or I have to follow a particular recipe. Plus her and my daughter are gluten tolerant so I have to be careful as to what I cook around the house and keep all my gluten food away from there food

Saturday was all kinds of mess. Too many cookies too much stress writing. Yikes. I was not a happy person to be around. But I have an amazing honey. He cooked, he cleaned (even though he had piles of work to get through himself), he even gave me a nice long shoulder rub. Gonna hold on to this one. :blush5: Needless to say, I was a hot mess on Sat so no gym. Although, in retrospect, I should've probably gone. I would've been less of a stressball then. Oh well.

Sunday, I kept it clean. I woke up early and went to the gym. Here's what I did:

45 mins elliptical
30 mins treadmill
Then I did about 30 mins of strength training. It was a great session.

Kept food clean too, until about 6pm when I decided to have ice-cream and regretted it right away.

Sunday food:
B: Homemade granola with non-fat yogurt
S: Peanuts
L: Grilled fish, brown rice, stir fry veggies
S: Ice cream (with oreo, mango, chocolate toppings). I have to say though I took one very small scoop. Put Oreo toppings which was too sweet for me. I ate it anyway because I am weird and stupid. And then after I was done, thought, I really need to put those toppings. Ugh.
D: Peas, carrots, potatoes, small piece of bread (we were both too tired to cook) but I had a big piece of pineapple as a dessert so that was AMAZING.

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.

Hello! I have the same goal to be at 125lbs. I really want to lose 10 lbs. I don't eat a lot at lunch or dinner. But i usually eat something sweet as chocolate after lunch or dinner. This habit is really hard to change. How can someone avoid eating sweets when he desires them?

Ok, back to my happy place again.

Morning session:

45 mins elliptical
We did 45 mins of core body exercise together. It was my trainer, one other person and me. It was amazing.

B: Granola with yogurt (I LOVE homemade granola)
Planned:
S: Peanuts
L: Huge salad with raisins, walnuts and all kinds of other yummy stuff. Just olive oil for dressing
S: More peanuts (ack, i don't know). We'll see how hungry I get
D: DATENIGHT!!! At our favorite place in the city. Can't wait. We've both been so busy we haven't spent quality time together. I don't think I'll drink but will def have dessert. SO SO EXCITED

Nice Amber. You are really getting this down. Even your bad days are not that bad and you always get some sort of exercise in.
Making me wonder what I am doing wrong :)

Thanks Reloaded for checking in. I feel like a slob when I don't exercise. Although, that moment when I wake up with the alarm in the morning and I actually get out of bed is the hardest throughout the day. I still haven't got into the habit of just getting up and getting excited about working out. There are are few minutes after my eyes open when I just stare up in the ceiling debating whether or not to go workout. I hope to get to that place soon. Hope you're doing well.

Wanted to log the day before I go to sleep. It has been a long long day. I was good throughout the day and datenight was amazing. We really needed to just sit down and talk and enjoy great food. And that's what we did. He took me to a Vietnamese place we like so much. I got veggie stew with all kinds of yummy veggies. The waiter asked if I wanted rice or noodles with that, and I was going to say noodles but then I asked if I could just get boiled veggies. And he said YES!!! So I munched on boiled veggies with my stew. BF wanted to see if we could split a beer but I just didn't feel like drinking, so I said no. He had one and I just sipped on my water. I feel like such a dork, but I am so proud of myself.

Hope everyone's having a swell night.

Hi Amberlace, you sure have admirable discipline! And restaurants that understand about veggies are the best :)

You say you feel like a slob when you don´t go to the gym one day, which I can understand (because I have to restrain myself from working out when everything is going as planned), and it may not even be an issue when your workschedule is so tight, but what does your trainer have to say about restdays? I usually hear that muscles need time to relax in order to build up properly and help with losing weight but maybe they´re built into your plan anyway.
