Do you have a photo inspiration???

"Seriously, people...wake up. We (the people on a WEIGHT LOSS FORUM), of all people, should realize that regular people don't look like that."

I gotta unload.

Take it easy...

I think theres a lot of smart people on here. Just because I look at a pic of Arnold as an inspiration doesn't mean I think everybody is supposed to like Arnold.

Chill.

People see something in someone that gives em a boost on their goal. Nothing wrong with that.

Keep your lavoratory comments to yourself and try to be supportive.

You think theres something wrong with some of those pics...fine. No need to degrade someones inelligence. Post your opinion but keep it cool....please.

I know...Im new here. I didnt think a tough skin was neccessary on this board.

Where exactly am I degrading someone's intelligence? Please, show me exactly where I insulted anybody's intelligence.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought I clearly said "to each their own", did I not?

Personally, I don't really care what people find to be sexy or not. We all have our own opinions on what we believe to be sexy and that's fine. Once again, to each their own. But, it's absolutely astounding and sad that there so many people who think these incredibly, overly-skinny female bodies are inspirational in any sort of way. Plus, all of those pictures are Photoshopped, which means that the bodies in those pictures aren't what those womens' bodies really look like. AKA - it's not reality. And, if it's a good tool to use unrealistic things as inspiration, then...

Starscream.jpg

...I want that body. I want to be Starscream. I want huge, metallic looking robot arms and legs. And, I also want huge airplane wings with cannons that shoot lasers.

See how silly that is? It's silly because it's never going to happen. I'm only going to be disappointed if I truly used that as inspiration for what I want my body to look like. I would be disappointed because it's not realistic. And, it's not realistic because the body I'm looking to for inspiration isn't a real one. The same goes for all of those Photoshopped pictures that people are looking to for motivation.

The reason I brought all of that stuff up is because there are way too many people in this world that have unrealistic views on what our bodies are "supposed" to look like - or "should" look like. And, personally...I find that to be very sad. I could sit here and give a long winded speech on the matter, but I've already voiced my opinion on this exact subject on many different threads on this very forum already. So, I won't sit here and repeat myself, over and over and over again.

Anybody on this forum who knows me and has read through my posts knows exactly what point I was making by saying what I said. If you took it the wrong way, I apologize. I don't apologize for my point of view, but I apologize if you took it the wrong way.

No offense, but how is she not rail thin? If she's not, then who is?

ChefChiTown, I have to agree with you... kind of.

Using the pics in magazines etc are a good motivator as long as you realize that you will never actually be able to look like that in real life. Even the people in magazines don't look like that in real life. And I honestly think that those scrawny looking waifs in magazines, movies, etc, look sick. I might use it to remind me of why I don't want the extra helping of chocolate cake, but I'm not planning on looking like that.

Personally, if I picked a celebrity to call my inspiration it would be one of the attached. Although I have smaller boobs than Mae and Tura...and a prettier face than both of them. My absolute ideal is the third pic, Yvonne De Carlo.

well lets see extreme would be that one scrawny olsen twin, but i mean olivia wilde has a similar body shape to gwen stefani minus gwens abs, and you cant say that gwen is not healthy because shes got these amazing abs and even after having a kid? Sure shes thin but shes healthy as well...

Having abs doesn't exclude someone from being skinny as a rail. Gwen Stefani is super, super skinny as well - abs or not. If you can see the bones in your chest...you are super skinny.

FYI - She has a post pregnancy body, so her body isn't going to be as "tight" as it normally would. Pregnancy does things to a woman's body that are very, very hard to reverse. For example, look at her knees. The weight she gained gave her loose skin and extra fat in those areas.

Oh and heres her (olivia wilde) uhm just walking her dogs so its not a magazine shoot or whatever

Right...and, even without her body being Photoshopped, her dogs' legs are just as thick as her arms. Explain to me how that's not skinny as a rail.

And, I'm not picking on you...I just find it really odd that you don't think she's skinny as a rail. I mean, if you don't think Olivia Wilde (or bodies that are similar to hers) is skinny as a rail, then what do you consider to be skinny as a rail? How skinny does that person have to be?

In terms of having the motivation, or something that is "fake" and "unnachievable", is sometimes what people need to push themselves to get down to their goal weights, even if it's not the same weight as the girls in the pictures.

I do agree with the kim kardashian picture, it's something I would set as a goal for myself, to look like her. However, I have pictures of jillian michaels and hayden penitier (sp?) along with a "fat" photo of myself (i'll attatch them all). But just because they're all on my wall, doesn't mean I think my body will EVER look like them, i'm not meant to be that thin, and I know that, doesn't mean it doesn't inspire me to get my butt to the gym and to eat healthy.

This is my friend who is helping me through my weight loss journey. I'd love to have her body but I doubt that'll happen. She has always been skinny, without trying.

I feel bad for her because she often gets people accusing her as being anorexic or bulimic.

She doesn't look anorexic or bulimic at all.

My inspiration is the thought of fitting perfectly into loads of gorgeous clothes without a muffin top. My inspiration is the thought of loving shopping again, of shopping for clothes that I like instead of ones that will hide my tummy and hips. I miss not worrying about my weight. My inspiration is the thought of me being comfortable in my own skin.
