Can I tell you how envious I am of your work-out routine and v.ball activities this week???? I am on day three of being in sync with my cat...we eat, we sleep, we lay around and watch dust motes....LOL

I'm lovin' your lifts too...it's so great when a girl is not afraid to lift heavy (relative to size)...and about the grunting...my w/o partner always involuntarily makes this really loud, masculine sounding grunt on the set of squats...it's hysterical cause she's this tiny, ultra feminine thing and she always kinda blushes and looks around in with a "who made that awful noise" look on her face:eek:

You always make me laugh! :D I'm always contemplating to do that just to make fun of him...hehe

And don't worry! You need your rest and you'll be back inshape in no time! Feel better and enjoy the rest time, because I'm sure your body is.

I got back from a meeting and I found a St. Patrick's Day cookie on my desk. Seriously, really? I love my co-workers, really I do, but do they not have a clue? :confused: I didn't eat it yesterday, why would I eat it today? It's going in the trash - it's in the trash all crumbled up just so I don't go in there and try to eat it :D :D . Kidding. But it's in the trash crumbled and destroyed never to be eaten - EVER.
 
I took a rest day yesterday and I'm glad I did. Got about 1600-1500 calories and realized that 2 hershey kisses can kill my nutrition balance. It's fine, because I need that little bit of chocolate.

I was so hungry last night that I went to Byerly's and got 2 chicken breast, thinking that I was going to eat one and save the other for later, but guess what, yep, ate both. 10 ounces of protein and the weird part of it is, that I got all my protein in and stayed under 1600 at the same time. Goes to show that I really need more protein throughout the day. But I'm not about to bust out a can of tuna like RAJZ for a snack. I don't think my cubicle neighors would enjoy that smell.

I'm working from home today and will be getting some lifting in down in the basement. Not as great as the gym, but it will do. Tonight heading to the waterpark and then volleyball.

I'm so jealous, Volleybally doesn't start for me until April. I can't wait!!! I'm not sure if I'll be doing both CO-ed and women's only this time..probably only women's.

We actually don't start until around that time also. I'm just playing for fun and trying to get back into it again for the year. My muscles can adapt to all the workouts I've been doing but when it comes down to trying to get back to "volleyball" shape since last summer, it seriously takes a good 2 months to get there...and I'm not going to blame it on old age...how about I blame it on not enough playing time...:p
 
I'm impressed!! I hardly see any women doing squats and deads at my gym, much less at your weights. Wow.

Thanks! I hope I'm recording the weights right. Like for Squats, the bar is 45 and I put on 25+2.5 on each side. so 45+27.5+27.5=100. :confused: I hope that's the right way to calculate it.

Funny you say that because when I'm doing them, I get some stares from the guys in the weight area. I'm always the only one there doing them too.
 
I really wish I had some of the free weights and barbell. I can't do free weight squats or regular deadlifts. :( I use what I have which are the dumbbells and the bowflex. :( ...I'd love to have a leg press too.

Like you, when I lifted weights in a gym, I was the only female doing these exercises as well. I think they intimidate a lot of women.
 
There's an annoying (and intimidating) "boys club only" mentality at work in the free weights room....I actually had one guy interupt my work-out (I was doing military presses at the time) to tell me "you're going to lose your womanly shape".:mad:

My "gym" is really the gym by Jake, literally.:D My husband got it awhile bakc and I never really used it a whole lot until now. I would LOVE a leg pres too, maybe with my next bonus I can splurge it on some equipment instead of clothes...who am I kidding :eek:

What a jerk! I'm glad the guys at my gym don't do that. I think they like having a little eye candy during their workouts...hahaha Very sexist statement, but it's my journal...;)
