Diary from the Ijsselmeer

Hiya. I am planning on starting the couch to 5k programmebin a weeks time. Problem is because it's still dark when I'm not at work I will have to go to the gym and do it on the treadmill, which won't be the same training!!

Never mind, roll on the summer!! :)

So your on week 2 right? I was thinking of starting on week 2 or even three, I just think stop- start- stop start will annoy me. I am also only going to donor twice a week as I won't give up my other exercise. I am running 5k end of may and another in July so plenty of time! :)

good luck!

didn't go working out at all this weekend, more for personal reasons.

so my last workout of the 2nd week of the C25K treadmill programm will take place tonight.

also, I'm trying to take the stairs instead of the escalators wherever possible - except at my workplace, which is 4 stories up. :smash:

will let you know how it went, tonight.

Hey there!

Congrats on your current weight loss!! *throws confetti* That's an awesome achievement!

ok- first off...you're kicking my chubby butt at this C25K ....I've been "meaning" to restart it this past week and have failed!!! I mean, you're kicking some serious ass with it! I love that you worked through the pain! So many times I wimp out when i get shin pain or out of breath- but you just plowed right on through it! Awesome work!

like the others have said- i think if you complete the 5k, you'll be able to do the 10k! It's about will and determination! If you can do 5k, you know you can walk the rest! I think it's a great goal!

I have a goal at the end of may to run a 5k! Piddly compared to your 10k!!!

Great work so far! I love that your goal is to do martial arts! I would love to do some of that stuff! I did a kickboxing class in the fall and loved it! My hope is that when i'm in a bit better shape (i.e., have actual stamina!!!), i'd love to join a boxing gym! Hitting things makes me feel so much better :D

Great work! I'm going to have to keep updated! You doing so well with the 5k running plan will make me do it :)

Cheers!

hey Jill,

thanks for that powerboost :smash:

it makes me even more embarrassed as I haven't gone jogging since last Thursday. was too lazy during the weekend, with my sleep rhythm completely screwed up.

I then planned to go last night, but again made the mistake of taking a seat at home...

so I definitely will go tonight. otherwise: shame on me.

oh, Jill, more pics! :drool5:

OOOH THE GUILT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :banghead:

Isn't it awful!? I can ruin my entire night if I don't go! Or my weekend! I will literally sit around stewing about not going, and waste my entire day! Where if I just went, did it, and came home, I would have a fabulous day!! :)

And don't forget, you do need rest days! I have to remind myself that!! lol

I think you're doing great! It takes a bit to get in the rhythm. I think if you're hitting the gym 3 times a week, you're doing great! (Jill this week : 0 .... oops :piggy: )

Hehehehehe!

It's hard though when your routine is uprooted! Hopefully we'll both make it today (I don't think i will! Workin' on 4 hours of sleep the last 2 nights!) - but I might just surprise myself! Especially if I know you're going too!!!

hehehe

Happy Tuesday :D

Happy Tuesday :D

now I know I'm definitely going :D

well, my routine isn't uprooted, but I still have a burning bad conscience, so there's no way around me going to the gym right after work.

maybe I'm fishing for contacts here, but I wouldn't mind having people from this forum on my msn/icq/skype, just to have someone 'real' to talk to occasionally about the dread and the happiness :biggrinjester:

(if that's not a broad hint, I don't know what is, jill :D )

Well curse you, now I'm required to go to the gym!!

:(

I know I should be thanking you, but I have a nice sofa, blanket and movie at home! hehehe ... alright- I will go to the gym, and run my katookus off :)

I'm always open for conversations! I think it's important to have someone to chat too :) It's key to success!

I don't have any msn/icq/yahoo/skype that I use- to be honest, I could give them to you, but I can't remember the last time I logged in! LOL

You can always PM me on here, or I can give you my facebook! :) It's up to you!

I keep in touch with my friends via Facebook and email ... but I'm constantly on this site! :) hehehe

let me know! I'm always up for dishing out the sparkles, fuzzies, and sunshine :D

alrighty (Jill) ..

even though I grandly accounced to go work out right after work, I still procrastinated and postponed and pushed it away playing online games...

until 21:00 :D

then I went
, and it went well. :) had a couple of stitches, but that's to be expected if you first come home and eat chips and drink coke, and then go work out..

so what about you, Jill? :D

I can't judge...at least you went! I left work early to go home and get my stuff, but when I got there, the work being done at my place caused me to get detoured and I didn't end up going...i know :smash: bad Jill *shame*

I did however go today, and tried to make up for not going yesterday!! lol

How was your workout!?! Do tell!!!

And I'm happy you went (even though I TOTALLY didn't live up to my promise!! LOL)

And what online game distracted you!!!!!? :lurk5:

hey Jill,

don't be bitter or sorry. I almost didn't go either.

plus, I am afraid that my belly - with all that running and jumping - or the skin of my belly, becomes more lose, because it's really ... (sorry for the graphic description..) hopping up and down..:toetap05:

right now I'm so happy I'm a man and not a woman. having two soft bags of meat and milk flap about in front of my face during workout would seriously put me off!

now I'm getting strange ideas about wearing sport-belly-bra's... ah, never mind :D

you'll be doing fine, and you'll be getting offers by over-ambitious lovesick Germans soon enough :D

Hey Skunk check out compression shirts. They're designed for exactly what you're describing. They're pricey, but a lot of people swear by them.

As for the boobs...mine never swing up so high that they are in my face (though that might be funny if they did) but the jiggling can get me sore. But that's life. Wear super tight bras when I run and just sort of cope.

why do I have to think of a Leslie Nielson movie now? :D :drool5::lurk5:

but ok.. it's salary time anyway.. I'll check up on those 'compression' shirts.. if I'm right, they should also have an effect on superfluous skin?

/EDIT Yes, they do have that effect :D thank you, bluebuckeye :)

Well, boobs aren't THAT bad! A couple good bras and you're good to go! LOL .. but yes, I find that running sometimes isn't as comfortable as it is for thinner people! I also find my short legs aren't made for running hehehehe...they go so so fast and it looks like I'm scurrying along! :smilielol5:

How's the workouts been going!? have you been running at all!?

Also for the online games- I haven't heard of those! i use to looooove gaming, but I just don't have the time anymore with work/school/gym!! hehehe ... I do miss it though :(

Happy Weekend!

hey jill,

thanks for your post. I was already busy procrastinating.. haven't been going since Tuesday, which was my last 2nd-week session.

Today, just in time, I went to the gym and did the first 3d-week session.

My shins and left knee didn't feel so good beforehand, and I was fearing some kind of injury.

And again, 5 mins after I started running the pain went away, and the run felt good and natural.

Funny how my body literally wants to go 10km/s, and feels at ease there. :smash:

Anyway, two times 3mins-running really demanded my very best... and I caught my heart beating 181 times per minute.. after that, I didn't feel the 90secs running anymore, at all :D

Monday will be my second 3rd-week session, and I hope to stay below 180bpm this time..

how are you doing yourself, lovely Jill? :sifone:

:hurray: :cheers2: :hurray:

yay for going to the gym! Sometimes the hardest part is getting there! I know myself too well...if I start to think about going to the gym, I go right then! If I wait toooooo long, then I start to think, 'hmmm, do I really want to go? I can got tomorrow' ..and I don't go!! So at the first thought, I head to the gym :)

Great job on your work out! And pushing through the pain- that takes dedication! I'm still not liking the running...I wish I did- but I plan on going tomorrow and kicking my "oh I don't want to run" whinny ass into gear! :)

And a HR of 181? WOWZA! You must have been workin' it!! Take care of yourself though- you don't want to keel over!! LOL That's insane! Do you not get dizzy or lightheaded!? You must have the heart of a bull!!

I am doing great, ty :) I little crazy and overwhelmed with school work :willy_nilly: and super sore from my workout yesterday! Aside from that, the world is a beautiful place :D

How's the weekend treating yourself!? :troll:

well, well..

for personal reasons (sullenness, laziness, you name it..) I haven't been running for almost one and a half weeks.

my financial situation is as such that I have about 50 bucks for the rest of the month (till the 25th) ..

I know I'm going to make it somehow, but that very thought is depressing my like hell..

just one more excuse not to go for the workout..

then again, I was at a private gettogether on Satuday.. a sort-of party.
which was awesome. lots of laughing, lots of fun and flirting.

and that's the sad part: I forgot how good flirting is, just seeing other girls, and not chatting with them online, but laughing and having fun together, even if it's clear that nothing physical is going to happen...

women... can't live with them, but sure as hell can't live without them..

Hey there!!

Glad you were able to go out and have fun! I think that's the most important thing in life- to go out, with friends, strangers, you name it, and have those laughs and good times!

As for life- sorry to hear that it's not treating you as well as you like :(

Even though you have a lot of bumps in your way, you can do it....think positive! And maybe go for a run- you never know, if could clear your mind, or at least give you some time to think about something other than life!

I know when I get stressed out, working out is one of the only times I don't think about what's stressing me! it's a great release, and I often feel better afterwards!

You can do it champ :)

Take care, and I hope things turn up for you :)

*hugs* <3
