Update

Well my energy is waning!

RATS!

Ugh, I had CAKE today! Someone spank me, now I feel awful! :drooling:

Either way, I'm having a glorious time in the Runner's Club thread--too bad there aren't more people around in there, maybe in a little while it'll get busier (I hope ;) )

Almost time to get dolled up for my 2nd job, hostessing. I'm DYING to move to bussing and serving so I can get my ass behind the bar where I BELONG. Dammit I've wanted to bartend since I was 14 years old!!

You may call it a frivolous dream.

But a bar is there for you when you need to relax, meet characters, enjoy the Friday evening. Or hook up with random hotties, reow! :rotflmao: At least it takes our troubles away for a little while. Why do you think Speakeasys became so popular during probition? If you don't drink, don't bother--enjoy your teetotaltarianism! ;)

At least I had salmon and salad for lunch!

Have a little cucumber with that? hehehe.... just kiddin'
I've always thought bartending would be so much fun. I always managed to meet some really fun or interesting characters while visiting some of the local joints.

I do miss the nightlife....

I was promoted to bar manager a year ago before I turned 21 at my old job. It was a lot of pressure though, it stopped being fun and I got chubby because I stopped waitressing and wasn't able to cover as much ground. You have a better personality than I do to deal with bartending though. I took it all very seriously at times, but you will probably be able to roll with it better than I did. You will make a ton of freakin money!

Funny, H was just talking yesterday about opening up a small bar in the East Village with 2 of his friends. Of course I'm the money woman so I would need to be the one investing (and he'll go to bar tending school) :rotflmao:.

What is this cucumber thing all about? Mal is involved? Let me guess what we're discussing, or am I the one with the dirty mind this time .

Anyway, just wanted to wish you a lovely day Val.

What's all this about cucumbers? Ok girls, let's clean it up now. :)
Val, I bet you'll get some great tips bartending.
Have a great ride to Davenport this weekend. I was just joking about Half Moon Bay. I looked it all up on Google earth, and that's a good ride just by itself.

Hwy 1 is so different up there from down here. Not nearly as much wind, and much gentler hills.

Hee hee! Claudia and Tom, check out Healthy Habit's diary thread, post #44, page 3!!!

Update: Today was amazing. I did a lot right, some wrong:

Slept in until 10:30am (oh by the way I only ate 2080 calories yesterday because for dinner I had a mango and some chips and beer); got up and went to SLV High's track and practiced sprint intervals. SO: on the 1/4 mile track I warmed up with 1.5 miles of easy running (probably a 8 minute mile pace) and then sprinted the straight sides and walk the curves. OH MY GAWD sprinting SUCKS!!! Wow, talk about anaerobic activity! Talk about HIIT!!!!!!!!

Wow!

Then I rode my bike all over town, from home to 41st Ave Capitola to the Brewery on the West Side to home. This is 17 miles :) SO with the running (I only went around 4 times, so I sprinted 8 times, and that was ENOUGH for me)and the bike riding I burned about 1400 calories maybe. Add that to my NARM and it might be like 3000 calories today--I mean come on, the sprints are definitely going to rev my metabolism. This is the first time I ever actually seriously practiced sprints. And let me tell you, I was HUFFING AND WEEZING when I walked the curves. Yet I STILL revved up and sprinted the straights even when I didn't feel ready. It was fun and terrible at the same time. but it will help me get faster!!!

I still have energy. Actually I'm rather horny, but that's just between you and me ;)

Food:
B-fast was Triple Threat Bar & Vitamin water at 355 calories. Lunch was a Dave's Fine Albacore fresh made tuna sandwich (local company, mucho dinero) probably about 450 calories with avocado; In the middle of the day I had a Cliff Bar but the yummy 270 calorie ones; and at the brewery I had 3 pints, 2 Stouts and 1 Porter and a truffle. On the way home I stopped by Donnelly's Chocolates and talked to Richard Donnelly and bought a box of chocolates. I sampled some and had some at home, so at 8pm I have had 2375 calories about, mostly beer and chocolate! :rotflmao: WOW exercising is a double-edged sword!

Please do not do what I did today. I got my nutrients in from the power bars but I believe I should have had a salad and such instead of a sweet protein bar with infused vitamins. I am going to try to avoid any more food today but I'm not making any promises. If anything I'll have a green salad!

My weight was 142.5 lbs this morning! My period is OVER. Yay! :jump:

Hey, Val, those sprints are really good for you. They're miserable to do, but they rev up your metabolism for a long time after they're over.

Tomorrow's the big bike ride to Davenport, right?

I didn't go that far myself today -- only 42 miles -- but I did get up a major hill without stopping, a 2.5 mile straight climb that took me about 30 minutes of pedalling for all I was worth in the hot sun.

I don't like those power bars; they're so full of sugar, and the calorie count is absurd.

May I suggest that you eat a cucumber instead? :D

Yes, Tom. You are 100% right and I knew it all along--I need to quit those bars, they are full of sugar. I think I am a sugar-addict--that would explain my habits, my tendency to drink (well I only really like beer and wine and the sugar is all fermented but I LOVES me some sweet wine), my chocolate freakiness, my cookie love.....:( I need to read that book I have again, about how to wean yourself off sugar!

Good for you! That is SOME BIKE RIDE! Seriously, anything over 20 miles is amazing in my book!

Yes, my body is literally buzzing still from sprinting. It sure does suck! When I sprint, my body says, "Why are you doing this to me?!?!? Stop it, this sucks!" and my mind says, "OH man I can't believe it! I'm sprinting, I'm sprinting!!" :)

I just wanted to tell you that I love your av - you look so good in it - I really like it :D:D:D

YOU KNOW WHAT? I WAS GOING TO SAY THE SAME THING TO YOU, MONA LISA!!! I think I will............ :)

As I've said, you're a nut and that's that! Hope you have a good one Val :).

Yes. Me and Tom--I don't have a whole lot of subscriptions, but it appears as if we may be part of the top 5% on this site that are fitness freaks galore. I mean, everyone seems to want it, and many do exercise like crazy. But I think we're a few of the serious exercise junkies! :)

It is 9:46am. I am going to get into my little exercise outfit and drive to the brewery, park, and ride to Davenport (or try, anyway!) Then I might stop by the Wilder Park trails and check out the running terrain. I believe I shall have a beer or two before going home (brewery opens at noon). It is slightly foggy today. Time to roll!!! How many miles again? 19 miles exactly. Ok, that shouldn't be bad :( I'm scared, I need Tom!!! :(

Only 19 miles? But that's each way, right? Well, 38 miles total will be a good workout. But if that's 19 miles round trip, then I'd suggest you do it 3 or 4 times! BWAHAHAHAHA!! :D :D

WOOO you go girl! Your going to make it with no problem I am sure and just think of the nice cold beer that will be awaiting your arrival once its all over-MMMMM!
I would love to go biking but I am so scary I am afraid of riding in the street to get to the bike path-LOL Which should tell you i hate driving as well-I only drive if I have too.
I am going to get a bike before the end of the summer though-DH has a rusty thing he calls a bike downstairs-I do not trust it one bit the gears are all out of wack-I just dont trust it!
I wanna be like you-your so active I so want to get into more things but i guess i have to take it one step at a time. When I was in the army I was really into working out but once i got out and moved to germany things slowed down a little then the kiddos came and I just gave up on myself but now I am trying to bring the old me back.

Well, Rimmy, "the old yo" can come out fo sho, no prob! Having kids slows ya down, but enriches your life, to be sure.

Update:

Rode to Davenport........was easy because there was no wind pushing me back! Kept going, for another 30 minutes. By the time I reached the brewery, it was 1pm. So 10:30am to 1pm, I was riding non-stop! 2 hours baby! Man my legs were tired. Currently I'm home ready to get ready for work, hostessing 5-9pm. I made it to "Big Creek Lumber Co." and back.

Food: I had chocolate and Cliff Builders bar for b-fast, and for lunch I had wine, beer, and fish tacos. But it was a lot!!! I'll figure out the calories later. Either way I'm sleepy and about to go to work. Anyway, that was A LOT of exercise!!!!!

That is impressive! I like the way you pushed yourself and went the extra 30 minutes. To think I complain about 20 minutes on my excercise bike.Did you go alone?
