Ahhhhh San Leandro my home turf. I was born and raised in California. Mainly in the bay area. I was born in Castro Valley, moved to Fremont then Hayward, then San leandro, then Vacaville. I worked in Frisco and Sacramento for several years. I loved Cali, but I must say I would never move back. Great place to visit!! I tell you what, I give you KUDO'S for getting that work out in yesterday during that time of the month. Ugggg, it is so hard to do. Now your body is a cardio machine, not even breaking a sweat at kick boxing, I'm jealous!

Today I am not proud of myself, because I ate a doughnut. It was a packaged one--my dumb coworker (ok, she's smart, I'm just mad and blaming her, but not really it's my fault) brought in a box of 8. One was 280 calories. It wasn't that great and it sat like a lump in my stomach. Also, I had a package of CADBURY MINI EGGS another coworker brought it. It was 210 calories.

I just hate it when I "spend" my calories on crap...just impulsively NOT thinking ....and then realizing the "cost"....I think that is one area that I have gotten more anal about (almost too anal)...I just know how hard I work out to burn that amount and I have to ask myself if its worth it...usually the answer is NO...unless its wine... something I can sip and savor...yep, its worth it! Yummmmmm. :)

Kickboxing...I sure have thought about it, but never tried it....it looks like a great way to work off stress! :D

Have a good one, Valerie!

Hi everyone! Kim, I will say hi to San Lean for ya!

This morning I woke up at the ass-crack of dawn to (not run, I'm doing that tomorrow) weight train at the gym. I got in an hour of quality training, but I tell ya--I was sleepy and not in the mood. It was a struggle to focus and keep concentrated on form. At times, I found myself going through the motions and had to stop, focus, and keep good form--which a lot of the time means paying close attention to my entire body (especially with squats). I went to my mechanic afterwards to get my car checked out--I thought there was something wrong with the starter--when they saw my battery was old, I wish Carlos Mencia was around to yell, "DEE, DEE DEE!" DUH! The battery! Anyway, they put in a new one all for a Benjamin, and I was only 15 minutes late to work. Car is all ready for my trip to the Bay to the Muthafuckin A.

Anyway, all ready this moring I have scarfed down 1000 calories. Yesterday's totals turned out to be 2200. I'm not concerned. Day 28 of my cycle and I'm only a little over 140 lbs.

Food:
1 can smoked oysters (I love those things), 5 licorice Red Vines at the mechanic's; 1 microwavable salmon dinner with wild rice and broccoli, 1 med banana and 4 strawberries in choclate sauce.

Sounds weird, doesn't it? Hey--I'm a WOMAN almost on her period, give me a BREAK ;)

Wow I'm still exhausted! Anyway, got to go! After doing the weights I had to check all the samples for the presentation and had to dust each bottle and put them in the back fridge, which took energy.

Thinking about making a stop in Napa

I may stop in St. Helena on my way to Sac to visit Keenan:

Friendly staff (Laura and Matt), hands-down best Merlots ever, and this 2003 Mernet (50% cab 50% Merlot) is absolutely delicious! I may have to get a bottle :p 33% off! :) Still $$$$$ :(

Money money money....flying away!

Here's a Dumb Bunny joke: (I just love bunnies!)

A man is driving along a highway and sees a rabbit jump out across the middle of the road. He swerves to avoid hitting it, but unfortunately. The rabbit jumps right in front of the car.

The driver, a sensitive man as well as an animal lover, pulls over and gets out to see what has become of the rabbit Much to his dismay, the rabbit is dead. The driver feels so awful that he begins to cry.

A beautiful blonde woman driving down the highway sees a man crying on the side of the road and pulls over. She steps out of the car and asks the man what's wrong. "I feel terrible," he explains, "I accidentally hit this rabbit and killed it."

The blonde says, "Don't worry." She runs to her car and pulls out a spray can. She walks over to the limp, dead rabbit, bends down, and sprays the contents onto the rabbit.

The rabbit jumps up, waves its paw at the two of them and hops off down the road. Ten feet away the rabbit stops, turns around and waves again, he hops down the road another 10 feet, turns and waves, hops another ten feet, turns and waves, and repeats this again and again and again, until he hops out of sight.

The man is astonished. He runs over to the woman and demands, "What is in that can? What did you spray on that rabbit?"

The woman turns the can around so that the man can read the label. It says..

(Are you ready for this?)

(You know you could just click off and not read the punch line....)

(You know you're gonna be sorry)

(OK, here it is)

"Hair Spray - Restores life to dead hair, and adds permanent wave."

Bethann: kickbox away! It actually makes you less apt to be violent, by getting your anger and frustration out on the bag. I come from a hot-tempered family (on both sides) and I don't like it--I think a good person keeps her temper in check and uses reason and respect. So, in order to be a good person, I have to kick and punch the shit out of a bag sometimes, to get it all out. The filthy language is here to stay, though. *smirk*

Hey Val, I just wanted to stop by and thank you for your supportive posts in my journal. :D Hope you are doing great, and all of that garlic your bf was talking about made me hungry!

Kickboxing is something I definitely want to try in the future. Hopefully the not to distant future! Hope you are kicking ass! Sorry I have been AWOL! Work you know, it gets in the way! I have been bumming around and am missing the gym today and tomorrow :( I'm making some big time for it at the weekend though :)

i want to try new workouts like kickboxing and tae bo. i don't really know where to find them, though. haha! that rhymed! anywho, i want to shake it up so things don't get boring, and i sure have plenty of desires to kick the shit out of a bag every now and then... i teach 7 & 8 year olds for goodness sakes!! :D

Best workout I ever had was Tae-kwon do. Man did I mess up that bag something fierce. Unfortunately, I remember the middle-aged guys in my class who got injured at it. I would like to start doing it again, but that's when I'm under 300 pounds and have been going to the gym. It isn't something I can jump into from walking a couple miles a day.

I agree, and I took Tae Kwon Do in junior college--it was a really great workout and it gave me a lifelong interest in martial arts. However; I HATE being kicked. I don't like sparring. Too much injury. I suppose I juts don't like fighting in general.

Well, that's a good thing I suppose. lol I really like TaeBo because I'm doing a lot of martial arts based moves, but not actually hitting or kicking anybody or getting hit/kicked myself! It's a cool workout, that's for sure. Tae Kwon Do always sounded really cool to me though.
