Update Friday the Thirteenth

Last night the BF made Giant garlic-stuffed prawns on a bead of lettuce, I added fresh mint, cilantro and basil to mine, and balsamic vinegrette...he also served gralic bread....WITH CIABATTA BREAD:eek: Ha ha, I ate it anyway--and only one big piece. We had New Zealand wines in Wine Class and they sucked--we were all disappointed because we all had high expectations. Just a bad choice, I suppose--I'm not tunred off, I'll get a Coudy Bay wine sometime soon--that's what the teacher recommended.

I weighed in on Day 1 (period) at 139.5 lbs! Very little bloating and breast tenderness, and no emotional distress or cramps. This is very weird. It makes me wonder if I have bloat weight or not. Either way, I'm pleased to be in the 130s again (if by a half a pound), and I'm determined to be 136 by May:mad: Hear that? Determined!

This morning I had a crisis in the Market. I bought a huge bag of DELICIOUS RED strawberries, and avocado, and goat cheese blue cheese, and salsa, and am going to make a black bean wrap today. BUT on passing the baked goods, I actually salivated so hard I had to swallow when I saw the goodies they have--brownies and little chocolate raspberry muffins and cookies and....DROOL.....

I almost grabbed something. BUT I didn't. And in the car to work I ate almost the entire bag (1 lb) of strawberries....without washing them! Oh but they were so sweet, and high in antioxidants, and low calories, and nutritious, and full of fiber and water....SOOOOOOO much better of a choice than chocolate raspberry muffins, and they practically digest themselves! I'm relieved.

Yes I've been eating berries and bananas and apples every day--I also got a fat bunch of asparagus but I don't have a steamer here at work. i might be able to rig up something...might not.....Why am I so hungry?

Ok I'm off to eat. Oh BTW I splet in instead of running, but I'm going running after work, then I'm going to the Bay. I decided, "what's the rush?"

Wow two great things--I've gotten so much better about going walking in the evening if I don't get up early enough, but I need to borrow some of that willpower with the baked goods.

omg having your period...passing by chocolate goodies and not taking any??? Val,now you have my respect even more :D
and that dinner sounds sooo good.

Curvie, you are my new best friend, I LOVE strawberries, or any berries for that matter, and I grow them taboot. If I would have ate that many in one sitting, I would be in the bathroom all day!!! HAHAHA GREAT JOB ON making it to the 130's I'm SO jealous!!! You deserve it!! Oh and your right on the NewZeland wines, I haven't tried one I like yet. Let me know if you find any. :) Have a great weekend!!

Well I have no willpower with chocolate....but it's good for me!

Not so fast! LOL! I passed the cookies, brownies, and muffins...to get some organic dark chocolate! HA! THAT's worth it though! BTW, great essay!!

Oh woman, I ate so much raw fruit today....won't say how they affected me....but I still think it was worth it! Thanks, I hope to be in the mid 130s soon! New Zealand....I will tell! You have a good weekend too!

Afternoon update

Ate and ate and ate and ate-black bean and salsa wrap for lunch, Berry wafflewich for b-fast, a banana, dark chocolate, fresh rolls with salmon jerky and mint and cilantro....basically all great food. I'm full right now and have had 1700 calories. HA HA HA HA! It's only 2:30pm!

Look here, I'm going to run for 50 minutes after work, which for my size should burn about 700 calories...but I'm fit so it might only burn 500-550. Grrrrrrrrrr:mad: I mean, that's good! :) But it's like, I'm eating like I'm 150 lbs today and burning calories like I'm 139. This sucks! I'm sick of my stupid diet!;) Nah I'm cool, I can do this! What is very important is I'm eating better than I ever have in my life :D

Little worried about this weekend...will watch it!

You eat the best sounding food! You are doing great! You'll easily get down to 136 by May (i think that's what you said your goal was?!). Enjoy your run and hope to hear good news about the weight over the next couple of weeks :)

I agree with Rachie. Your food sounds sinfully good. And this wine talk is making me crave bigtime! I'm done exams now - I think I should be permitted to go on a big three-day bender! :p I think I really might have to pick myself up some wine tonight though.

Oh you girls:eek:

Thanks!

Please drink responsibly! No driving!! And careful--getting too much right before bed ruins a good night sleep! Drink 1 glass water for each serving of alcohol!

Cluck cluck! :D

Signing Off

M'Kay, friends--I probably won't be back until Sunday or Monday. I'm actually not going to pick up my friend in San Leandro, and I think I'll skip Napa too. It cost me $44 to fill up my gas tank--and I had a new battery put in ($100). I don't want to spend so much money! I want to save money. I'm working on getting my wine for the project on the Loire--going to Corti Brothers and David Berkeley and maybe Beyond Napa in Sacramento while I'm there. See you all soon!

Your probably right Curves on holding back on all that extra driving, gas is so crazy right now, I can barely afford to run my riding lawn mower :D Smart thinking!!! You mentioned a few posts back that you had a black bean wrap, are those the bomb or what?? LOVE THEM!! Well, I hope you have a great weekend. AND DOUBLE THUMBS Up on the dark chocolate!!!

Back from a Wild Weekend--but you know how I do it

Well!

California's state capitol is a hilarious and amazing place, I tell ya! Friday I drove to Livermore. My step dad had HASH and just had to share with me. Ugh! I think that tetrahydrocannabinol is a perfectly fine drug, as our brains have cannabinoid receptors and all, but it is NOT GOOD FOR DIETERS. I ate too much chocolate as a result Friday night :( Saturday I ate my usual breakfast, and I took my girl friend to Elliston winery, where we got some Sparkling wine. Afterwards we went to the Mall in Pleasanton, and I purchased a really pretty summer dress (among a few other garments). We had this dip at a bar, with a few drinks, and I had MORE chocolate at Godiva's *DROOOOOOOL* Then we drove to Sac Town, and my homie had way too much chron with him. Oh dear! I don't usually smoke, but his stoner ass was a bad influence :p We drove downtown and I saw our state's capitol building--stunning in the center of a beautifully manicured, lightened garden. Then, as I was turning left onto a street, low and behold-a man shuffling along with his pants to his ankles, masturbating as he walked down the street. WELCOME TO SACRAMENTO! LOL!

We went to Old Town and bar-hopped, having a lovely time. A diverse group, is the Sac night scene. I enjoyed myself thoroughly. I also was driving so I watched my homie and my girl friend get swervin'-perved. I indulged in "chips" and salsa, which was really a huge plate of tortillas cut into wedges as fried with olive oil, it looked and tasted. Naughty me!!

As we arrived at the last bar at 12:30am, a rowdy group was leaving. The club had a punk-metal :)confused: not sure) show, and a dude got kicked out for apparently breaking a window inside. He was yelling and figuratuvely shaking his fist at the security, who was a tall, thin, blond boy who looked about 17 years old. As I was trying to tell the security guard he looked like a minor, the guard mumbled, "He just broke another window," and so the drunk rowdy fellow did! The boy ran after him--and a bicycle cop who was watching did the same. A few other employees at the bar came out and started saying the boy should not have run after. I wandered around the corner to watch the commotion--sure enough, the Rowdy Robby was belly-down with hand cuffs, and the boyish security guard was doubled over in pain. Apparently he had been hit! :(

Well, they told me to leave the scene and I did, because my buddies were now outside around the corner by the door, looking for me! We went inside to catch the last part of the last set, and my homie kept ordering drinks. I looked up and promptly fell in love with one of the singers, who was absolutely gorgeous and charismatic and just my type. Of course, I did not approach him at all, I do love my sweet boyfriend, naturally. But have you ever just fell in love with someone at first sight? Of course it's not real love, but you know what I mean! I have a demo CD, I should probably check and see if they have a website.....with a photo gallery! *snicker*

ANYWAY, this morning we went shopping. I helped my homie pick manly shower gel, and a towel, and sunglasses. We joked that if we were still single at age 40, we would enter into a domestic partnership--because he talks and I don't listen, and we argue and get lost! It was the weekend's running joke. I over ate chocolate again. Sigh!

I went to Catwalk and purchased a few items of clothing--Catwalk is sort of a disguised store for stripper clothes. Amazingly, everything I tried on fit perfectly! LOL! I just have that apple-bottom ;) Nah, the clothes I got were 2 pairs of white shorts and a white sweater and a white top. The top is the only questionable item--corset-snaps in the front and it pushes the girls up and shows them off. BF will not approve. Have to sneak out to wear it. My darling BF is absolutely mellow and not at all suspicious or jealous, mostly. But he HATES it when I wear sexy clothing outside our bedroom, while I thoroughly enjoy wearing sexy clothes--I feel confident and secure and (duh) sexy. It's one of our struggles. My curves look good in clothes that accentuate them. His thoughts are, those curves are only for me to look at. Neither of us are wrong. It's just one of those things  I'm not too bothered by it--it's kind of funny. Poor sweet BF gets frustrated, though. I do my best to please us both and compromise by getting flattering clothes that aren't too revealing. But once in a while, I want to wear a cleavage shirt, DAMMIT!!

Anyway, in conclusion, I had a fun time and also went to Corti Brothers' Market and got 4 bottles of Loire wines. I'll recap on this tomorrow--very tired and time to go to bed (10:20pm).

Diet: must re-start hardcore tomorrow. I shall weigh in heavy tomorrow, no doubt. Too much chocolate and the chips were all bad--other than that I ate healthy (and had b-fast ready--brought my own cereal and soymik and berries). For the next two weeks, since my period is on its way to being done and my hunger will go way down, I'm going to try to get to 136 by May!! I can do this!

See you tomorrow!!! Thanks for reading!

Wow, what an exciting weekend! I always think of Sacramento as such a staid, boring place. I guess not!
