Race Results

10K or 6.2 miles in 42:52 minutes
6:54 minute mile pace
53rd person for 10K
12th woman
2nd woman ages 18-24

First woman 18-24 got an astounding 38 minutes and change! I felt happy and proud for her, although I did not see her.

Pictures later, lots of work to do today!

Ate a whole lot yesterday and the day before, did not cramp up while running, pushed myself to the limit.

I can only get better, I hope!

Gramps got 31:21 for the 5K and came in second in his age group, too! We took a pic in our red ribbons!
 
By the way, 3000 people showed up for the Devil Mountain Run, although i don't know how many ran the 10K....

Either way, I'm very rpoud of myself and am looking forward to more! I HATE racing, BTW--it sucks and its painful. It's a mental challenge as much as its physical. But I love competing!

Wow girl you actually came in 2nd just as planned! And that is too cute how gramps also came in 2nd. I'm sure he couldn't have been more pleased. Talk to you soon luv :).
 
Tonight

Changed my ticker--I'm so pleased with my body and what it can do, I've abandoned the old ticker. I thought that was fine. I don't feel like a quitter--my goals just have changed. They upgraded! My sig is a bit small and tomorrow I think I'll make it bigger and easier to read.

I wore new shoes on my race and tore the skin off my left heel in two places--really bad! It is bandaged and probably won't heal for a week and a half. If I run I need those special shoes with no heel. I just may get some! I took today off exercise--and didn't mean to, but took it off eating well, too!

That's cool, I start my P in 3 days, I usually get bad around this time. Am drinking some French Muscadet right now--sweet, sweet dessert wine that is slightly peachy in color--weird! Got it at the Wine Club of Santa Clara. I've been studying the Loire growing region in depth and wrote an outline for my research paper like a good girl. I may post it here for people so bored they have nothing better to do than read Valerie's paper on Loire wines. *YAWN* Why not?!?!

I am starting to set up my foods on FitDay but it's going to take a while. I don't like being on the computer doing this stuff at home, because I don't want my BF and housemates to see how crazy I am when it comes to weight loss (especially at this stage, being slim and fit--hey I can call myself that now!!!:D ) and I can't mess around at work, it's not right, anyway, and I don't want to get in trouble again :p . Right now I'm alone but the BF just went to pick up our friend, who is visting from Chino Hills. So I have to go, again. But basically:

#1 My heel is screwed up and I can't run unless I get heeless shoes
#2 I ate too much the past 3 days and will be back on track tomorrow, promise
#3 Feeling really guilty about not visting the journals as much, only been in the really active ones today. All this crazy stuff has been happening to y'all and I haven't been there for you! :(
#4 Need to do more reading for class. I'm behind! Ugh I HATE that!
