Personally Training

This morning I felt great beacause I woke at 7:40 (bed at midnight) and ate my b-fast:

Multigrain Organic Nature's Gate Millet cereal, soymilk, strawberries, agave nectar (for my sweet sweet tooth), 1/2 cup Organic Clover yogurt, sweetend with maple syrup and honey (but man they barely use any! It's not sweet at all!), and 8 oz Acai juice AND one suqare dark chocolate.

I went to the gym and saw several people from the morning kickboxing class I took years ago, for years. Two ladies were talking to me and I was telling them about my bench press routine. One lady, Esther, tried the 95 lbs and I was telling her how I do 2 sets of 5 reps with 95 lbs and then 2 stes 10 reps with 65 lbs. The other lady suggested I should be a personal trainer. She said it was because I know how to talk to people, I'm in good shape but not so good it's annoying (she said, "don't take this the wrong way" and I didn't!! I don't get offended easily at all), and that I look like a "Real Woman" but strong and stuff. I am seriously considering PMing Steve about what it takes to be a personal trainer.

THEN I was doing deadlifts with 135lbs, and Lupe, a man whom I kickboxed with in that same class, asked me to show him. He'd never done them before, so I taught him good form ("feet hip width apart, back straight, shoulders back, barbell as close to your shins as possibly, tighten your core, exhale, keep knees pretty much over ankles...") and it was weird! "Training" someone....but it was fun!

Anyway, my weight session was good and I feel refreshed and proud of myself for doing it 3 days in a row.

Extra Work: So I'll be pouring wine in Mountain View.

Saturday I have a catering gig at a wedding in Carmel, from an account of ours. Business is great when you can reccommend someone! 7 hours of work!! $$$$

November 17th I'll be pouring wine at the winery in Corralitos for $$$

If I was a personal trainer on the weekdays in the AM I'd have enough $$$ to save! Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Sounds like you might have something there with personal training. You should definitely look into that! And I'm with you on the dark chocolate - I'm sat here eating a little right now :)

Go 4 it sexy buns! :D

You would be PERFECT! ;)

I tell ya..If I walked in a place and saw YOU, I'd pick ya to help me!

:hug2:

What am I gonna say??

YEP.. :p

~*Have A Goal Reachin' Friday/Weekend!*~

Hey Val, I'v not been around much and I'm a little slow on the typing :) I'm okay thanks - it' just a slooooow process. Still, I'm almost one week on in my recovery so I'm that little bit closer!!! I'm working on the physio and doing well so far :) :)

I'm about to hit the road for an hour drive north to the Peninsula. My girl friend Trisha lives there--she was Alice to my white rabbit last Halloween. She's one of the most laid back women I have ever met! She's gonna stop by and taste wine, and I'm going to hang out with her after the pouring.

Korrie: Here's the excel sheet I made up for meal planning. See? It has a place for weight for the day, the date, my cycle, and I type in the foods and calories I PLAN to eat on the left---and I record the ACTUAL foods I eat, and their calories. The formulas add everything up for cumulative cals, then I punch in my exercise and estimated RMR depending on what I did to come up with a deficit. By no means do I expect this to be accurate! It's an estimate to keep me on track and there is NO CHEATING!!! :D

Hi Val,
I hope you were superwoman and managed to avoid the goodies tonight!:) Just think of the wine as poison..lol. Nice job working out, and I agree with Stacy in that I think you'd be a reat personal trainer.

Hi Kimberly! I did great!

Stacy, that is a CRACK UP!!!

Well I just got back from Palo Alto, visiting my girl friend. The BF showed up at the pouring, and so did she.

I didn't touch A DROP, and there wasn't really any cheese or bread that tasted good. I DID have chocolate because I had cramps and needed a treat to make me feel better. But at the pouring, policy was "as much as they want." People are GREEDY and PUSHY when they expect as much as they want, and some of the bitchier ones insulted my pours after a while. Assholes! :boxing:

Drunken people are annoying when you're sober and you don't want to be ;)

I did great, though. But I snacked on some candy and chips (not a lot) at my friend's house. We watched a thriller called "Vacancy" that was cheesy but not too bad.

Then we (BF and I) drove home, but he's not here yet, he might be out getting munchies. I also used cruise control on my car most of the way back to make sure I only sped 5 mph over the speed limit :) and I noticed odd quirks people have on the road. Like, for example, people driving will speed up as they approach their exit.....little things like that. And you realize that a car traveling at virtually the same speed, for the most part, is actually a rarity.

I haven't added up my calories, I'll do it tomorrow. Sore and tired! That weight session was too much, I discovered this week after doing 3 hours heavily and moderately this week, my body is too sore and I should cut back on the weight for at least one of the sessions......and maybe do yoga another additional day. I don't stretch enough otherwise.

Man oh man I'm SOBER! :rotflmao:

Goodnight people! MUAH! :beating:

Thanks Stacy! I was just in your diary, posting while you were here! ;)

Ok, yesterday I snacked too much and ended with a 300 calorie surplus :(

There is nothing I can do about it except be a good bunny this weekend and pray that all that weight training is making me have a super metabolism! Ok I know, that is just ignorant

ANYWAY, this morning I had a carb craving and ate TWO BREAKFASTS before I could realize what I was doing (see how binging on carbs on your period leads to more eating the next day? Well, for ME it does). At least it was the healthy organic all natural hemp seed waffles and raw chocolate coconut butter, and juice, and then a bowl of cereal.

Either way, nothing until lunch, and I'm going to have a LARGE lunch later in the day (1pm at least) because today I cater a wedding from 3 to 10pm. In all honesty, I'm NOT looking forward to this. But I need the money, and I'll be there, helpful with a smile on my face until its over and I get my cash.

The nice thing about this industry (hospitality) is that Uncle Sam doesn't get to tax ALL my money for the War Machine. HA! Under the table, bitch! You can't prove SHIT!!! HAHAHAHA! I donate money to my favorite charities instead, having more control over where it goes.

Certification

I PMed Steve about being a personal trainer. He has a lot of forewarnings, but helped me out and gave me links to the NSCA Certification Commission website. I signed up as a member and ordered the NSCA's Essentials of Personal Training Text Book. My plan is to READ and EDUCATE myself. I also plan on going through this website with a fine toothed comb and collecting/printing useful posts. I plan on continuing seeking advice from Steve and other trainers. I will train MYSELF first, and learn even more about nutrition and exercise science and whatever. I'm ready for it. THEN I may take the exam and set my sights on employing myself to train others. We'll see what happens, if anything, I'll learn a lot for myself. I have A LOT to learn. I can see myself starting a new thread on here already......

Today's exercise:
I've been putting off HIIT with sprints and jogging for a LONG time. I enjoy running in the woods too much; it's time to get my ass literally ON TRACK and sprint the straights and jog the curves until my heart and/or lungs feel ready to burst. At the same time, Kickboe downtown (my gym is a local gym, and there are 3 chapters, one of which I usually go to, and another, smaller gym downtown Santa Cruz that I only go to if I have to do something down there, my house is closer to the East Side one, the nicer, bigger one).....that's HIIT with resistance training mixed in, and Ab Lab afterwards....

ARGH!!! I won't have enough energy to do BOTH and cater for 7 hours!!!!

OK, Sunday I will run. WOW I only ran once this week on Tuesday! :eek2: Well! Let's see, here's what I did:

Mon: Genie to beach, Weights 1 hour, Yoga 1 hour
Tues: Running 40 minutes in woods, Genie to beach, Kickboe, Ab lab
Wed: Genie to beach, weights 1 hour, yoga 20 minutes
Thurs: Kickboe, Ab Lab
Fri: Weights 1 hour

Well this weekend is Cardio Weekend then. Anyway, it's time for me to go.....

I am about to leave, but I just wanted to say I made the right decision--it's sunny but the wind is STRONG and howling around the house. Better not to sprint outside, it would be really annoying and frustrating...

I'm glad to see how much your excersizing!! Very motivating to me! I'm gonna try to re-produce that excel spreadsheet you made. Looks like it took alot of work! Thanks for posting!

Korrie: I can always email it to you, for ideas, and of course you could modify it or do your own with influence or whatever :)

Exercise:
I went downtown and Psycho Michael had a substitute! His subs just don't give us a good enough workout, so I chatted with a class mate and we both decided not to go. I went to New Leaf Market and bought some organic produce, including a red cabbage because I heard all sorts of good things about that particular vegetable  Yes I can be "trendy" with nutrition--trust me, I don't expect any ONE thing to be a miracle plant, but I DO know a variety is what you need, and I haven't munched on enough red cabbage lately ;)

SO I went to the dirt bike track down the street from my house. I jogged/ran around, up and down hills for 17 minutes to warm up, then for 11 minutes I did interval sprints and jogging in between. It was rough! I can tell I need to take at least 3 days of exercise off to rest my body before the race on the 28th (just a 5K mind you). Still, by the end I was wheezing, gasping for breath, but my body felt OK. I could really feel the work in my hamstrings--sprinting make me stay more on the balls of my feet and I kick my lower legs up high behind me, so my hamstrings really get a workout.

I need to shower and make lunch, can't dick around here too much longer today before I head to Carmel.......

Hi Val :) Thanks for the offer! I did my own spreadsheet. Did you know I JUST got done covering Excel in my computer course (we're doing access next) BUT we JUST BARELY touched on the formulas, which is too bad b/c thats the whole point of excel, you know?

Anyways...good job on the excersize! I hope you get that rest you need! Speaking of cabbage, I just LOVE broiled cabbage w/ a pinch of salt! YUMMY!

Nice job resisting the wine last night! I'm trying to resist the whine...lmao.

I think it's great you're studying to be a personal trainer.

Love your new avi, btw. :)

I also like the avi, very hot. She takes some good pics!

What's this about personal training?? I missed that. Sounds like a good career for you.

Luv ya :)

{HeeHaw Song..} Where O Where Are You Tonight........ :D

Man, I really miss that show! :D

I hope ta look like a HeeHaw Honey one day! *Snorts!* :rotflmao:
