Hey DQ,
I don't know how you feel about broccoli but sprinkle some garlic on it and OMG, it is delicious. It had my 7 year old begging for more, give that a try and see how you like it. I steam them and sprinkle a little garlic on them while they cook and sprinkle a tad more on them once I put them on the plate. YUMMY!

Garlic & Broccoli?

I don't know...
I'll give it a try, but everything in me says that's just all wrong ;)

I stopped in to say hello and wish ya a good weekend! If I am not mistaken
salsa is mainly tomatoes.onions peppers all veggies to me!
Good luck Tammy:)

I dont think I have come across a veggie I didn't like. Go with salsa and experiment with maybe some hummus and pasta sauces are a good way to sneak in veggies. pesto sauces though you have to watch out for the oil content. look at the bright side we dont have to worry about you sneaking off and becoming a vegan lol.

Edit' pesto sauce is really an herb dish but should be good all the same...... end edit'

Hmmmmm, you like spinach pasta and red peppers. Mmmmmm, lasagna. That would taste so good!! I'm gonna make it this week!!!!

Great ideas everyone, thanks!

I had a stinky 1/2 weekend here  I won't post what I had. Actually, it wasn't too bad, but I drank more pop than I should have. And last night we ate too late...Pizza Hut took an hour and a half to bring us our order (and we were right across the street), and then they screwed it up anyway. So we didn't eat until 9:30pm:eek:

I did buy a few more t-shirts (one says "everyone loves a canadian girl"), that are a little sexy (because they are tight)but not slinky. I love them, and can't wait until I lose a little more tummy so I can wear them! Also splurged on a new pair of jeans, that I should be able to get into by the end of my 6 week challenge!

On the way back to town, my friend and I are cooking up some ways to get active this winter. There's not much to do in this town, so we are going to try and start our own "activity group". It started with me mentioning how good a cardio thing doing highland dancing is. Apparently one friend in town knows how. We are going to try and organize a weekly thing, where we spend a few weeks learning how to do various types of fun dances, aerobics, etc. We hope to get a few others from the community involved. Should make the winter pass more quickly.

We are also going to sign up for skating lessons! I can skate, but can't do any moves, etc. I'm not very good. And my friend would like to skate without holding on to the boards. Then we can take our kids public skating every week, and burn some calories that way. We'd have to take a class with our 4 year olds, but that'll be fun too:D Also, there are so few kids involved, they were considering closing the rink altogether. So this may help keep it open if we all get involved.

Oy, big weekend. We're going out tonight too, so I'm off to find a babysitter! Wish me luck!

As I take my morning walk and notice it's getting colder out there....You have motivated me to find a winter activity that will keep up my weight loss. I walked just about everyday last winter, only stayed in if it was like zero outside. Don't know if I can do that now!!

Yeah, it's usually between -20 and -35 C here, not including the wind chill. I don't want to be dragging the kiddos around in that!:)

speaking of winter... that is when I usually gain lots of weight and end up working the whole summer getting it off...my mom has a work out room at her house with a Gazzel, Ab lounger, and an Ab scissor... guess I will have to start going to my mom's house alot more ;)

So even though tomorrow is my official weigh in day, I stepped on the scale this morning, and I've gained a pound over the weekend:eek: I'm going to kick it into high gear today:)

On a funnier note, I made boiled eggs and rye toast for breakfast this morning, and my daughter gets up from her chair and says, "I love eggs so much it makes me want to do the doody dance!" and she starts shaking her butt, singing, "shake your doody, shake your doody" (it's supposed to be "booty") She's too cute:D

Sorry about your lb... :( But you ate PIZZA at 930!!! It could be throwing the scale off! Enjoy the last day of your weekend! :)

Actually, this may be worse, it was chicken fettuncine alfredo that I ate at 9:30:eek: And I was so good in the car both ways, just water and a few grapes to snack on. So I'm dragging the kids out for a walk in a few minutes.:)

OR... it could be muscle that you are gaining there chick!!! Dont get discouraged!! You are doing amazing and you are so motivated. Should we expect ourselves to be good 100% of the time???..... NAHHHH

No, I don't expect myself to be good 100% of the time, but it would be nice to be good with food and exercise, so I can be a little bad in other areas of my life;)
